South Facing (partial sea view) modern two bedroom, one bathroom apartment facing the swimming pool and gardens.
This modern apartment is in a new private condominium with a large communal swimming pool, a childrens pool and a tennis court. Its adjoining the Balaia Golf village golf course and it is 5 minute drive to the Pine Cliffs golf club.
The gardens are landscaped with trees and lawned areas around the swimming pool and the apartment borders filled with tropical plants and shrubs. There is also a woodland area offering a peaceful and tranquil setting.
The apartment is south facing enjoying the sun all day. It is fully air conditioned with heating facility for the winter, has a large living room with TV, DVD player, and Satellite (English channels), offering guests a comfortable and relaxing environment. The large private balconies (approx 5m x 6m) overlooking the pool and distant sea view has a table and chairs as does the rear terrace off the kitchen, ideal for relaxing and al-fresco dining.
This Apartment is ideally placed, just 30 minutes from Faro International Airport. It is very well situated in a quiet residential area, yet it is only a 5 minutes drive to the bustling town of Albufeira and a short walk from the sunny sands of Maria Luisa beach. There are many choices of seafood restaurants, shops, supermarkets and daily fish market within walking distance.
Albufeira is famed for its beaches, for the countless shades and tones of its rocks and cliffs. This is a place where people live to the rhythm of the great holiday destinations, sunbathing during the day and at sunset flocking to enjoy the restaurants, bars and discotheques that enliven the night time hours. Just a few miles inland and everything changes. The green of the countryside is dotted with almond, fig, orange and pine trees and decorated chimneys stand out against the ochre of tiled roofs. Bucolic villages invite you to experience a way of life rooted in the tranquility of nature, to add another dimension to your holidays.

very spacious - 2 generous private balconies with room on the pool side one for sun loungers, which are provided.
2 swimming pools, not very large but adequate.
seven minute walk to some nice local restaurants.
The apartment is a fifteen minute walk to the nearest supermarket.
This apartment, first floor, in the development, while well kitted, is located directly over the entrance to the basement/underground carpark. This is entered via a large metal roller shutter, which is extremely noisy at 3am when you are trying to sleep, and was not appreciated when it woke our infant.
Dogs: the development seemed to us ( we stayed for 16 nights) to be a mixture of apartments held by private owners exclusively for their use, and apartments for rental. Four of the apartments during our time there had large dogs e.g. alsations, which barked at all manner of hours.
Cleaning: the apartment floors were not clean on arrival.
Pool not cleaned during our sixteen day stay.
Overall, the apartment was spacious and well equipped. Although remote, it is possible to operate without a car.
The apartment was very good value for money.
The apartment was very clean and tidy when we arrived, lovely location, nice and quiet and only a short taxi ride to the strip and Old town which we found amazing.
The description and photographs were accurate.
The only problem we had was that upon arrival, the rep that met us to give us the keys and showed us around told us that our bed linen and towels would be changed mid-week, told us that she would arrange our transfers from the apartment to the airport on our last day and none of this was done.
We were also told there was a vending machine down by the pool - there wasnt.
Our TV didnt work - we were told an engineer would be sent out - this wasnt done.
So apart from having the same towels and bed linen all week, and no TV, and no transfers to the airport (we had to go by taxi in the end, after lots of panic and a long walk to the taxi stop) - the apartment was a lovely apartment and area and we would stay in the area again, just not this particular apartment.

Thank you Chloe for your review. I would like to add to a few notes in response. Firstly, apologies for the incorrect information provided by the rep on arrival. There is no vending machine nor has there ever been. All of our properties are provided with fresh linen and towels for your arrival and are changed once mid-stay if your booking is between 7 and 14 days. Additionally, the rep booked the airport transfer for your departure, however we received a text message from you advising you had made alternative arrangements. The TV engineer visited the apartment the morning after the problem was reported, and tested the TV and satellite receiver and confirmed all was in working order, the TV needed only to be changed to channel AV1.

We stayed for 1 week at the end of July 2010 and were very happy with the apartment which we found to be extremely spacious, very clean and generally felt very homely. There is a large lounge with 32" flat screen tv, freesat (which receives many of the UK programmes) and dvd player. The kitchen is also spacious with full cooker, washing machine, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. There was plenty of crockery and cutlery and it was great to have a kettle and toaster too. There are 2 twin bedded bedrooms, one at the front and one at the rear of the apartment. There are balconies at the front and rear. The one at the front overlooks the pool area and the sea can just be seen in the distance. Although the apartment faces south, there is enough shade to prevent it from becoming too hot. It is also possible to use the balcony all day without being in the sun. The air conditioning is very efficient, however, as the air-con fan was situated on the front balcony this made it almost impossible to sit on the front balcony when the air con was swtched on inside. We were pleased to find that there is a safety deposit box which is not mentioned in the description. The condominium is in a very quiet area and it is a good 10 minutes walk to the nearest supermarket. We were disappointed in the nearby beaches, which are approx 15 -20 minutes walk, as we found them to be very busy and overcrowded. There are eating places nearby, but a greater choice means a good 15 minutes walk. We would say that a car was essential. Our only criticisms are of the pool area. There was the perennial problem of there not being sufficient sunbeds, but of greater concern is the fact that the pool area was not cleaned during the week we were there which we reported to the apartment managers. Overall, lovely apartment but we probably would not go back to that area.

THIS APT HAD EVERYTHING WE NEEDED FOR A VERY GOOD TWO WEEK STAY. VERY SPACIOUS, GREAT TO HAVE BALCONYS AT THE FRONT AND BACK OF THE PROPERTY TO GIVE A THROUGH BREEZE. HAVING SAID THAT NO VIEW FROM THE FRONT, JUST ROUGH GROUND, NICE VIEW OVER THE POOL THOUGH. HAVE TO SAY THAT BEING ADVERTISED AS A SEA VIEW WAS A LITTLE MISLEADING. IT GAVE THE IMPRESSION THAT IT WAS A SHORT WALK TO THE BEACH, STATES 5 MINS, IT WAS ACTUALLY A 25 MIN WALK. WOULD HAVE LIKED OUR OWN SUN LOUNGERS BY THE POOL AS GETTING UP VERY EARLY ON HOLIDAY TO PUT YOUR TOWEL DOWN WASNT REALLY WHAT WE WANTED TO DO. IF YOU DIDNT DO THAT THEN NO CHANCE OF A LOUNGER UNLESS SOMEONE VACATED DURING THE DAY. HAVE TO SAY WE FELT VERY SAFE STAYING THERE, SECURITY WAS EXCELLENT. IT WAS OUR FIRST TIME TO PORTUGAL AND WE LOVED IT, WOULD GO BACK.
