"Journeys End", is located in the prestigious Monte Lemos area of Praia da Luz, in a crescent of 14 houses set in beautiful mature, landscaped gardens with colourful planting and lawned areas. The magnificent weir pool is the central feature of these gardens. The living accommodation is on the first floor to take advantage of the views to gardens and the sea beyond. The living room patio doors open onto a south facing balcony with outside dining furniture. Along with Air Conditioning the room is furnished with a three piece suite. Satellite TV & DVD player and a log burner which makes this house a ideal base for an out of season stay. There is small cloakroom and a modern dining kitchen with full cooker, fridge freezer, microwave and washing machine. The kitchen is well equipped with small appliances, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. Another small balcony, which looks inland, leads off the kitchen. Downstairs there are two bedrooms, one with twin beds and the second with a double bed and air conditioning. Both bedrooms have built in wardrobes. A door from the double room opens onto a small terrace, which leads into the gardens and the pool area. There are plenty of sun loungers for relaxing on and the entire garden area is fenced and gated making this a particularly suitable location for families with young children. Everything you could want is within a 5 minute drive or a 10-15 minute walk. There is a good local supermarket, plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars and a large sandy beach with water sport facilities, all within walking distance. Several golf courses, such as Boavista, Parque da Floresta and Palmares are within a 10 to 30 minutes drive.
The cosmopolitan town of Lagos, which many believe to be the best on the Algarve, is only 10 minutes drive away. There the Marina dominates the river as it opens into the sea and you can choose activities such as deep sea fishing, a dolphin seafari trip and yacht hire. Lagos is an historic town with some city walls still standing after the earthquake of 1755 and there are several museums and churches worth a visit. This is a working Portuguese town with markets, shops and plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from. The fabulous west coast beaches, where the surfing is renowned, are only 30 minutes drive away and the Monchique hills and the historic old capital of the Algarve, Silves, is an equal distance the other way. A car is not essential but we really would recommend that you have one so that you can take full advantage of this wonderful area.
"Journey's End" and Praia da Luz really are the ideal base from which to explore the surrounding area and enjoy your holiday in the sun, or winter.
The "Autodromo do Algarve" opened in 2008. It has been approved for F1 by the FIA and Superbikes by FIM. It is hoped that a GP will be held there in the future. See their website for the calendar of events.

Clean, comfortable and well located. A car is must have for this property. Good for a romantic week for couple or for small family. A bit too small for two couples. The kitchen was good. Even the espresso coffee machine was the same as I have at home.
We and our friends had a fantastic holiday from the 26th of September till the 6th of October.
The house was very complete and it felt like
home immediately. Because we had such beautiful weather, we could have breakfast every morning on
the very nice balcony overlooking the gorgeous garden and swimmingpool. The description of the house was very accurate and did meet all our expectations. We enjoyed the beach, the food, the
dolphin boattrip, Lagos, Sagres and much more.
We would certainly recommend your house to our friends and we hope to be back soon.

This property in my opinion was excellent in all areas.
Everything is close and easy walking distance.
The pool is clean and quiet so very relaxing during the day or enjoying the evening on the balcony.
I had a loverly week, the owners have catered for all, young and old alike. I am a lady of 80+ years. Even in late winter, it was warm during the day but got a bit chilly in the evening but the house was very warm and cosy. Most days I sat out in the garden and read my book. It did surprise me that most bars and eateries were open, particulaly liked the Lazuli bar for a midday snack and the Adaga da Marina in Lagos for an evening meal that was very good and very reasonable. I ate very well, with wine for 10 euros. I have to say that the owners were extremely helpful, they helped with everything, nothing was too much trouble. As for Chris their manager, if only I was younger, he was so helpful. Thank you Roger and Margaret for a wonderful week, you have succeeded in making a home from home, not sure you could have thought of anything else. I will certainly be back next year, if not sooner.

Just returned from one of the best holidays ever. The peaceful resort of Praia da Luz is thoroughly recommended if you need a relaxing holiday. We found the local people friendly and helpful.
The house was well maintained and comfortably furnished, it lacked nothing from the air-conditioning to the stock of DVDs and games to watch and play on the very rare wet day. The gardens and large pool are of a very high standard and beautifully clean. Compared to other properties we looked at it was very good value for money. It exceeded our expectations and the pictures on the website did not do it justice.
The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you could need to cook the most sophisticated meal, or you can eat out at dozens of restaurants and bars down near the beach which serve every kind of food that you might fancy from English, Indian, Chinese and African. There is even an English and Irish pub.
The beach itself is beautiful, overlooked by the Black Rock and surrounded by blue sea. Sit at an outside café, watch the many water sports, or just enjoy the sunshine.
Lagos was well worth a visit with its busy marina and shops - an opportunity for rides to watch dolphins or deep sea fishing.
The small surrounding villages were also very beautiful.
Finally, the English manager Chris was worth his weight in gold - especially when we locked ourselves out. It was very reassuring knowing we could phone a number and speak to a fellow Englishman.
All in all the perfect holiday.

Thanks for reading so far.. I am a farm manager working for the last 33 years on a farm on the east coast of Essex, very close to Frinton on Sea. Margaret, Mac for short is the farm secretary. I live in a tied house which allowed us to buy the house in Portugal. It is in fact the only house we own so hopefully the decor and furnishings reflect that. We are comfortable in it and we very much hope you will be too.
