Set on the tranquil sunny hills above Calheta, and close to amenities, the present owner, Elisabeth, sympathetically restored and refurbished her great grandmothers cottages to create this lovely character air-conditioned villa. Relaxing by the tranquil pool and large barbecue area you will appreciate its traditional traits and views. The very large living space with two seating areas, dining and fully equipped kitchen are all contemporary furnished and a delight to enjoy. All bedrooms are large and benefit from en-suite bathrooms.
The air-conditioned large living space runs the whole of the ground floor, and includes two separate seating areas, each with its own flat screen cable TV, a dining table for 6 and a fully equipped contemporary open-plan kitchen and features the beautiful original wood stove and oven. All doors open to the front terrace that affords wonderful views of the countryside and ocean, and includes a herb garden for guests use.
All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning and the same wonderful views. Accessed via one set of steps, the self-contained double bedroom is spacious and accesses via the hall, and what used to be the front door the rear of the property. The second staircase leads to the bedroom hall (which also has a door to the rear of the property) and the second double bedroom and twin bedroom.
There are many walks around Calheta and easy access to the plateau of Paul da Serra, with its many levada walks, makes this villa perfectly located for walking in Madeira and for enjoying a lovely holiday surrounded by the beautiful Madeira countryside.

On the lower ground floor, the large pool is surrounded by a deck with sun loungers, the lawn and a small kitchen garden as well as a large covered and built-in traditional barbecue (with sink and electric 4-ring hob and fully equipped) and seating area, perfect for those balmy evenings.

Heating is optional and costs 140,00€ per week for 24°C, paid in cash on arrival.

Pool heating can be provided and should be requested at least one week in advance. Should it be requested after arrival at the villa, the minimum charge applicable is one week, which is payable from the time the heating is turned on.

The rental value varies with the number of people occupying the property, so please ensure you enter the correct dates, number of adults, children and infants. Please note that supplements apply should additional people join you for any length of time.

To secure your reservation we require a 30% deposit, or the full amount if you are arriving within 8 weeks. The balance is due 8 weeks prior to arrival.
Final details for check-in and driving instructions to the property will be sent 7 days prior to arrival. A contact number will be provided, and to be able to access the property, you need to phone this number as you are leaving the airport. It is your responsibility to contact and advise the number provided on the check-in details to advise any delays to the expected check-in time.
Check-in times - at the property - are between 16H00 and 19H00. For Sunday arrivals and out of hours check-in, alternative arrangements will be made and an additional cost will apply.
Check-in and check-out flexibility will be applied where possible, but this will depend on housekeeping schedules and the departure and arrival days of other reservations either side of your stay; a definitive answer can only be provided within 24 hours of your arrival for check-in and your departure for check-out.
