Apartment Vasco da Gama, Lagos Marina, Algarve


Completed in 2007, Apartment Vasco da Gama is a second floor apartment superbly situated on Lagos Marina, only a ten minute walk to Meia Praia beach. The restaurants and bars on the Marina quayside are a five minute stroll away and a further five minutes will take you across the opening bridge into Lagos town centre where there are many more shops, bars and restaurants to choose from. The golf courses at Palmares and Boavista Golf Resort are within five to ten minutes drive and the courses at Penina to the east and Parque da Floresta Golf and Leisure Resort to the west are about 25 minutes drive away.

Apartment Vasco da Gama is a well furnished two bedroom apartment which can be reached by lift. The open plan lounge is furnished with twin sofas, and a dining table to seat six. Both the bedrooms and the living/dining room have sliding doors opening on to a large balcony, which has beautiful views over the Marina. Both bedrooms are twin bedded and the apartment has the added facility of air conditioning in both bedrooms and living/dining area. The units have a heating function, making this apartment an ideal winter base too. Satellite TV (limited channels- Sky News, BBC News, Euro Sport) and CD player are also provided. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom and there is also a separate shower room with toilet. Both bedrooms have large wardrobes with ample hanging space. The kitchen is well equipped with a hob, fridge freezer and microwave.

Complimentary swimming pool access at the nearby Marina Club Suite Hotel is available, for up to 4 people, with this apartment. A health club is also available at the Marina Club Suite Hotel, payable locally. There is also a playground for children in the near vicinity.

Out & About
The cosmopolitan town of Lagos, which many believe to be the best on the Algarve, is on your doorstep. The Marina dominates the river as it opens into the sea and you can choose activities such as deep sea fishing, a dolphin seafari trip and yacht hire. Lagos is an historic town with some city walls still standing and there are several museums and churches worth a visit. This is a working Portuguese town with markets, shops and plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from. The fabulous west coast beaches, where the surfing is renowned, are only 30 minutes drive away and the Monchique hills and the historic old capital of the Algarve, Silves, is an equal distance the other way. As Apartment Vasco da Gama is so centrally situated, a car is not essential for your holiday enjoyment but to gain an appreciation of just what the Western Algarve can offer, a car is recommended.

We have stayed at this apartment on a previous visit to Lagos. The only problem we had was that the television had no picture. I bought a new aerial lead from a local shop which solved the problem. Otherwise everything was fine and I would visit again in the future. Bob Wilde.

Spacious, modern appartment with large balcony and excellent view of the marina. Minor quibbles: we cooked for ourselves every day. There were only two saucepans, and the frying pan had lost most of its non stick coating. Would have been nice to have wifi. But, as I say, minor quibbles. Its a lovely appartment and we had a great holiday.

Very spacious apartment with lovely large balcony covering the lounge and 2 bedrooms. Fine views of marina but also handy for supermarket. Apartment cleaned and bedding changed every 4 days when we were there and apartment nicely maintained. Not too far from beach and town. The whole family enjoyed their stay there!

We have stayed in Lagos twice before, in an hotel. We will never go back to a hotel after staying in this apartment. Everything was great - location,quality of furnishings, balcony views & marina club facilities. Cant fault anything. We will be back!!

My wife and I stayed in the property over the Christmas and New Year period. We found the property was extremely well located. It had good facilities and was nice and clean. Lagos town was within a short walking distance with many eateries and also has excellent beaches close by and those who prefer to cook, there is an good supermarket around the corner. We loved the location and the property and will definitely be back. We have already started recommending it to our friends.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this apartment. Its in a good location, convenient for restaurants, shopping, the beach etc and has a great view. The old town is a pleasant stroll along the promenade. We also made good use of the pool in the Marina complex which is only a few minutes walk away. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and we have already recommended it to family and friends. We hope to return in the near future.

I went to Lagos for my 40th birthday,couldnt have wished to go to a better place,the appartment was fantastic and wouldnt hesitate to go back so thankyou to the property owners i will never forget my 40th thanks to you x
Good modern property as described in good location. Lagos is still one of the best towns in the Algarve. Some minor niggles - small bathrooms, odd shower heads (cheap to change them) and incorrectly wired light switches (supply some bedside lamps)- but generally well appointed apartment.
Our stay in the apartment was very enjoyable and the weather couldnt have been better. The only downside to the apartment was the lighting in the bedroom. Although there are two separate switches at each side of the bed, only one switch works and switches ALL the bedroom lights off instead of just the bedside light, so if one person wants to read in bed, all the lights have to be on (which isnt very economical either). Also couldnt find a switch for the extractor fan in the kitchen to work, although we only ate in a couple of times so wasnt that big a problem. We had a change of tea-towels mid week but didnt get clean bath towels, which was disappointing. Nice apartment overall and very conveniently situated for the supermarket and marina.
Apartment and marina surroundings cant be faulted - best holiday apt we have stayed in. Nice pool at the hotel. V Good quality bars and restaurants in easy/flat walking distance. Lagos quite lively, especially at weekend - we were there late July 09. Also, proximity to Pingos supermarket is great. Will definitely return.
The property was fabulous, spacious well furnished and spotless. It was lovely looking on to the Marina of an evening with a glass of wine in hand. Property excellent for both singles, couples and families. Quiet but 2 minutes to the marina club with large swimming pool. Marina entertainment 5 minites walk and the lovely quaint town of Lagos 10 minites I have already recommended this apatment to friends and family and will definately be returning myself. Only one recommendation I would make to the owner is to put up bedroom curtains as the shutters do not totaly keep out the morning sunlight
This is a beautifully furnished and very spacious apartment in an idyllic location. The huge balcony is wonderful to sit out and look over the marina (while wishing one of the yachts was mine!) The town is a short walk away and filled with many lovely restaurants and bars. Would highly recommend Don Toro Steakhouse!! Everyone is very friendly and welcoming and have already booked again for July!

Our apartment is family owned and was completed and furnished in April 2007. It is owned by my brother who runs his own mortgage advice company, my partner who is a Matron in the NHS and myself,, saving people money every day with Utility Warehouse. We bought the apartment - our first in tthe overseas property market - before it was completed and it gives us everything we want; fantastic views of the marina, lots of space and its proximity to great restaurants, the beach and the beautiful old town. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
