Fonte Santa Village, Quarteira and Vilamoura Areas
The Algarve region is located on the south coast of Portugal. It has all year round great weather, with the hottest months being June to September, it has been a popular holiday destination for many years. There are great golden sandy beaches many with water sports centres and seaside bars and restaurants. The Algarve also boasts some of the best golf courses in Europe.

FONTE SANTA VILLAGE is between Vilamoura & Almancil and on the outskirts of Quarteira. Its set in a rural area, close to beaches and with everything within easy reach. It is excellent for sun, sea, sand, fishing, water sports, golf, horse riding, walking, and sightseeing. It is very close to some of the best golf courses in Europe. Fonte Santa boasts a natural spring which is said to have healing qualities.

QUARTEIRA is one of the Algarves top resorts with clean safe bathing and long, sandy beaches running uninterrupted to Faro. Very popular with holidaymakers during summer and close to international standard golf courses. With the beach, the main attraction is a long promenade (Algarves longest), bordered by palms and flowering hibiscus. In the evening, it is filled with an endless stream of families and couples inspecting restaurant menus (all feature freshly-caught fish direct from the local market, one of the best in the Algarve). Besides its 13th-century parish church, the Gypsy market (Weds.) is a major attraction. Restaurants/Bars are close to hand & there is a regular tourist land train that runs to Vilamoura.

VILAMOURA (an area rather than an actual town) is one of the largest single tourist complexes in Europe and covers some 2,000 hectares. Vilamoura has most forms of sport/entertainment, and a long sandy beach. Amongst the many attractions/facilities there are 5 different Golf Courses, a large Marina, a Lawn Bowling Club, a Tennis Centre, a Sports Club, a Shooting Club, Nightclubs, an International Casino, a Cinema, a private Airstrip and an excellent Riding School. There is a Roman Site & Museum giving a glimpse of the past. There are many different tourist activities available e.g. ballooning, bird watching, boat trips, coach trips, or excursions in a Safari Jeep to explore the local countryside. You can book great excursions from Vilamoura Marina. You can even book a wine tasting tour of Cliff Richards’s vineyard. There are many local and international restaurants, serving a variety of dishes ranging from the local peri peri chicken to Indian, Chinese and Italian specialties. The night-life offers a selection of bars, clubs and a superb international dinner with floor show at the Casino.

GOLF: The Algarve is a golfers paradise boasting 25+ championship courses. Vila Sol is 5 mins away. 12 courses are within 10km distance & the 5 Vilamoura courses (Pinhal, Laguna, Old Course, Millennium & Victoria) are a 5/10 min drive, as are those at Val do Lobo & Quinta do Lago.

DISTANCES from the house: Quarteira 2km, Vilamoura 2km, Loule 7km, Almancil 5km, Faro Airport 20km. Quarteira beach 2km, Trafal beach 2km, 6 restaurants within 1km, Aqua Show water park 1km, 12 Golf courses within 10km

Holiday Information
Faro airport is approximately 2h 30min flying time from the UK (Luton, Stansted, Gatwick or Heathrow) and easily accessible from most European destinations. Most of the budget airlines (EasyJet, Monarch, etc) fly to Faro all year round.
Similarly regular flights are available from Manchester, Bristol & Glasgow and many other European Airports.

Car hire is recommended and driving conditions are good in the Algarve.
The major car hire (EuroCar, Hertz, Avis, Budget, etc) companies have offices at Faro Airport opposite the Arrivals gate.

Please note that UBER is now in the Algarve and makes getting around easier, simpler and cheaper. It may work out cheaper than hiring a car and driving.

There is a bus stop 100mtrs from the House and services run between Faro & Albufeira stopping at such destinations as Almancil, Quarteira & Vilamoura.

The House is managed by a Property Management company based in Almancil about 10 minutes from the house. They will prepare the house including meeting and greeting you with the House keys. They also provide a wide variety of services to ensure you have an enjoyable holiday. These services include car hire, boat hire, bike hire, airport transfers, cot and high chair hire, a fridge filling service, arrange trips, book golf courses and are your main contact for advice and assistance during your stay in Portugal.

Please note that
1). Cleaning & linen/towel changes is once mid-week and on departure.
2). Beach/swimming towels not provided.
3). Instruction/information folder is provided at the house.
4). Welcome pack provided on Arrival.

WEATHER: +3,000hrs/yr sun (more than Costa Brava, California, French Riviera). Abundant flowers/vegetation, & sub tropical climate. April/May the countryside is green & lush with wild flowers, however, to see almond trees in blossom (known as Arabian snow), you should visit in January/February. Winter is one of the sunniest spots in Europe. Sea breezes are deceptive (masking fierce sun), dont forget skin protection, especially in summer, when temps can hit +90sF.

Lovely property and in a great location for local restaurants and easy walking to the beach. Very quiet and peaceful - no other residents around and had the pool to ourselves. Convenient for Lidl supermarket which was virtually over the road.

Had stayed at this villa once already and decided to book it this summer again. It is a fabulous house with many beaches near by. Villa was clean on arrival. Would definitely recommend this villa.

3rd time staying at this wonderful property. Cannot fault it in any way. Lidl shop is right across the road for provisions and it is also close to marufo 1 and 2 (famous chicken and chips), gypsy market on Wednesdays and of course aquashow only down the road. Approx 25 min walk to beaches however ubers are cheap and plentiful. Uber to vilamoura marina for 6 people approx 10 eurs or approx 5 euros to nearest beach. Beautiful swimming pool out the back is never busy and pool table in basement also is a great bonus.

Family from Crowborough, United Kingdom Jun 2019

We stayed here in middle of June 2019.
Villa is superb - the outside especially is immaculate with AstroTurf lawn, 6 sunbeds and dining table that sits 8 and a brick BBQ. The shared pool - well we never saw anyone else use it or the well maintained surrounding grounds so it might as well be private !
The games room in the basement was a great bonus - evening games of pool and table tennis after a BBQ cooked and eaten the garden made a nice change from the trip to Villamoura.
The management company and owner were excellent to deal with, we checked in late on a Sunday and had a late check out so they arranged for key to be left in lockbox at the gate without any problems.
It is a bit of a trek to Quarteira and Villamoura (at least 30 mins walk along busy road - or bit longer via dirt road and along the beach) but UBER is available and only 7 EURO each way so we didn't bother with a hire car (the management company can arrange one to be delivered we just decided not to)- and LIDL is literally across the road.
There is lovely restaurant 200 yards away (Marufo) which is excellent value - otherwise its a taxi to Quarteira or Villamoura - but this isnt a problem !
Loved every minute of our stay - and would definitely look to stay here again if we are visiting Villamoura.
Thanks for a great holiday.

Couple from South Shields, United Kingdom Sep 2018

Met on arrival by Luisa from Portugal Property Services, who also arranged transport to and from the airport, which is only 30 minutes away.
Villa is in a great location - a Lidl is very close plus three very good restaurants, serving local food. Very quiet and peaceful, with a communal pool that was virtually our own. Sunbeds were very comfortable and the 'lawn' was synthetic, which was great. The beach, which is fabulous, was 30 minutes walk on quiet roads, with views of the many birds on the lagoon. Quarteira was also 30 minutes walk away via the main road and has a lovely promenade and is very clean, with a good selection of bars and restaurants and not as commercial as nearby Villamoura. Hope to go back next year if we can fit it in to our schedule.

We stayed in the villa for 8 nights in September and enjoyed our holiday there. The house is very large, modern and clean. The owner communicated with us a few times before our stay and when we arrived we dealt with a local property management company to get keys to the building. It was very easy booking. Also, the website provided has lots of information on the area such as restaurants, transport etc. There's several brochures in the house on the area and activities to do. We didnt hire a car but i would recommend that to stay in the house you might find it more comfortable with a car as although there's a bus stop around the corner, the buses are not very regular. The garden has a lovely seating area with bbq which we used many times. The Lidl supermarket is just across the road from the house. When we arrived there it was a nice surprise to see that there was some basic groceries milk, cereal, juice, tea coffee there for us. The gamesroom with pool table and table tennis are fantastic. The large pool was very clean and surprisingly deep. The deepest was over 8foot. We had it to ourselves a lot of the time as although there were people in the other 10 or so houses, not many people were using it at the same time. Also, there's a gypsy market in Quarteira on Wednesdays and it's just around the corner from the house. There's a large waterpark within 5minutes drive too. The only negatives are there's no wifi and the airconditioning is in the bedrooms only with none in the living room areas.

Thank you very much for your kind words.
With regard the air conditioning, the living area is double height and would be impossible to air condition efficiently due to the height. The house is designed to allow the side and back patio doors to be opened to allow a nice draft to circulate through the ground floor.
We are working on a cost effective wifi solution but we advise guests who need the internet to purchase a Portuguese sim at the airport and a WiFi dongle at the airport, this gives them a portable WiFi solution for the house, garden, beach etc. Many visitors actually prefer not to be online at the house, there is plenty to do at the house and the surroundings.
