Location

The Villa is situated in the lush hillside of Arco Da Calheta on the quiet southwest coast of Madeira. A traditional village set amongst vineyards and banana plantations, this relatively rural area is a popular spot for those wanting to immerse themselves in the beautiful nature this Island has to offer. With three breath-taking hiking trails in this area as well some beautiful beaches, you will love to get out into the great outdoors.

A few minutes' drive away in Calheta village you'll find an array of shops, some fantastic seafood restaurants, pretty churches to wonder round and a modern marina. It is also home to one of the first man-made beaches on the Island, boasting beautiful soft golden sand and crystal-clear water, making it an ideal destination for families. And with activities ranging from surfing, canoeing, whale-watching, windsurfing and even paragliding, there is something for everyone in this alluring corner of the Island.

The 2092km of hiking trails that people travel from all over the globe to experience follow the narrow stone irrigation channels that criss-cross the Island. Taking you across lush mountain countryside to deep into the Laurislilva forest, you will witness awe-inspiring Ocean panoramas and discover spectacular hidden waterfalls. If it's a more high-octane experience you're after, this dynamic landscape can also be traversed by mountain bike or even on a 4x4 tour.
