These newly built traditional luxury Villas, in the heart of the unspoilt countryside in the Eastern Algarve, are in a perfect location to relax and explore the history, culture, cuisine and natural beauty of this area almost unchanged for many centuries. Within a few minutes by car you can be down on the coast or in the capital, Faro, with all its various facilities, restaurants and entertainment. The villas are available for rent throughout the year with central heating for the winter month and air con for the summer.
Located, some 20 minutes from Faro Airport, just outside the inland historic village of Estoi with two millennia of history - inhabited since the 1st Century AD there are examples of many ages to see from the “Ruins of Milreu” , the carefully restored remains of a Roman agricultural settlement and the famous “Palace of Estoi” or Pink Palace as it is known as, where members of the aristocracy would stay when visiting the Algarve.
A real refuge from the hustle and bustle, here you will find the authentic Algarve, rural and friendly, with small villages and farms offering a wholesome quieter way of life. Not far away are various fishing ports, and a wide variety of beaches and salt flats dotted in and around the famous Ria Formosa Nature Reserve a Unesco protected natural habitat and a stopping place for hundreds of different birds during the spring and autumn migratory periods. #.UkRG_NI3vYw
The views of the coastline from the villas are unsurpassable with a 180 degree down over the countryside and orchards to the sea and the Ria Formosa. Particularly spectacular at night with a mirage of twinkling lights brightening up the horizon and the imposing lighthouse beacon of Santa Maria which reflects its light on the facades of houses at night.
The estate is accessed down a small rural sandy track off a minor tarmac road. The entrance to the estate is through a pair of very pretty wrought iron gates leading into the grounds and parking area. There are two fully self contained villas each with one double suite and two double bedrooms sharing a bathroom and a guest WC. The villas built in and L shape and although they are close to each other they afford much privacy as they are built on different levels.
The first, the main house, sleeps 6 - is built on the higher part of the estate – a generously proportioned bungalow styled house, built with traditional features such as stone window frames, handmade terracotta floor tiles from Santa Catarina further in the East and Algarvian highlighted architraves. The imposing double wooden front door of the main house is accessed from steps up from the garden level and there is also a special disabled lift to take you up to this level. Outside the front door is a lovely old stone water feature, some 150 years old, the sound of which is very soothing on a hot summer’s day.
Enter through the front door into the hall there are stairs leading to a basement and up to a roof terrace. To the left of the hall is the open plan kitchen/dining area which comfortably seats eight. The kitchen is very modern and well equipped and lends itself to informal entertaining. With a bar counter leading seamlessly from the cooking to the dining area. In front is the long south facing terrace with a large built in traditional barbecue where there is a delightful outside eating area with wooden table and chairs here you can join up a second set of tables and chairs to sit over 12 persons for al fresco dining. The view from here is quite magnificent. A double aspect hanging wood burning stove separates this area from the very spacious living room which is immediately next to it with its comfy sofas, a work area and large flat screen TV,(News and International Channels, DVD and entertainment area stove
The Second property - sleeps 6 - is similar in style to the main house and is located lower down from the main house near the swimming pool – also with traditional features such as stone window frames, handmade terracotta floor tiles from Santa Catarina.. The double front door leads you in the entrance hall with an unusual feature of a central glass covered garden and open plan kitchen and dining area with table for eight. Going through the entrance straight in front of you is the spacious lounge with cosy fireplace and lovely views over the countryside through the patio doors.
The bedrooms are accessed down the hallway. The first is a twin on your right next door is a good sized walk in shower bathroom and the next door on is the second twin bedroom. At the end of the corridor is the master bedroom with beautiful shower room with special LED lighting and good sized double bed. There is a south terrace complete with lounge area with sofa and chairs, accessible from the master suite.
All around the villas are gardens and orchards with various fruit trees – just wander down and pick whatever is in season. There is an attractive man made decorative pond at the bottom of the garden which is fully irrigated. There is also an English speaking local lady who is on hand if you wish to look after children as well as cook you any meals or barbecues and generally help out.
This is an exceptional property built to high specifications with lots of room and with everything you need to really unwind and have a real holiday with friends and family – an opportunity not to be missed.

The villa is priced on an occupancy of 8 persons but can accommodate 12 persons for an extra charge. Out of high season (July and August) we can also offer a reduction for an occupancy of 6 persons.
