Luxury villa with private swimming pool and well-maintained gardens in the piscatory village of Apulia, Surrounded by beautiful beaches within 50m and in a strategic area close to many northern cities

Luxury home in Apúlia - Esposende with private swimming pool and private parking. Surrounded by well-maintained gardens where you can enjoy its relaxing atmosphere. Within walking distance of the local beach (2 minutes), local shops (10 minutes), where you can do most of your groceries, coffee shops, cake shops, local fish restaurants and within a reasonable driving distance (around 10 minutes by car) of bigger supermarkets. A good place for walking, cycling, and enjoy a mix between the countryside and the beach - it is surrounded by a pine forest and 50 meters from a lovely beach.

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful villa - just wish we could have stayed longer. Would highly recommend staying here. Everything you need is provided and the owners are very helpful.

Fantastic villa in a great location. We stayed with my parents and our toddler and it was perfect - great facilities, very well equipped and immaculate. We were a little concerned about the lack of air con before we went but the villa is really well designed to stay cool and it wasn't an issue at all, even when temperatures hit 30 degrees. The kitchen is really well equipped and we got plenty of use out of the barbecue and outdoor seating (complete with enormous umbrella!). The pool and garden area was lovely with plenty of seating available (sun loungers and chairs). Even beach towels are provided.

Locally, there is a good choice of restaurants about 1km walk away. We tried a number and found them all great value for money with good food (and house wine - the vinha verde was a revelation!). There's also a mini market at a similar distance. A little further afield (maybe 1.5km) there's the centre of Apulia with more shops (eg bakers, butchers and fish) and restaurants. The beach about 50m away was great. It can get a little breezy later in the day as other reviewers have said but the pool was more sheltered.

Unless you're happy to spend all of the time on the beach and by the pool, you do need a car (we used Hertz in Esposende). There is plenty to explore locally, we particularly enjoyed Porto, Braga, Viana do Castelo, Ponte de Lima, Ponte de Barca and the market at Barcelos. There are a number of toll roads so we found it worthwhile having the electronic toll calculator activated in the hire car (Hertz offered this when we collected it).

For travel with children, there is a sturdy high chair and nice travel cot which was made up with a lovely bedding set. It's full cot size which was a relief with a long toddler! There are security blinds so we could leave the bedroom window open overnight and at nap time. The living areas of the ground floor can be closed off from the stairs (it's a sliding door from the lounge). There are only 7 steps up to the bedrooms floor. We were glad we'd taken a monitor as the doors are effective for sound proofing! We didn't see any way to close off the mezzanine floor but that was fine as we had more than enough living space in the downstairs lounge and kitchen which are a great size. Outside, the garden to the side and back of the villa are great and our daughter loved running down the slope. It was also good having grass round the pool so fewer worries about slipping. There's also a lengthy car port which was handy for outdoor play in the shade. All of the local restaurants had high chairs - no children's menus but portions were so large we could easily share! We enjoyed a couple of pizza takeaways from Urbanus Pizzeria in Apulia after bed time as well. There's a playground on the seafront in Apulia.

We'd definitely recommend Villa Ofir for a family holiday, we had a fantastic time and loved both the villa and the local area.

Beautiful villa in lovely part of Portugal. The villa had everything and more than what we could have asked for. The owners Jose and Sandra were lovely and very informative and spoke good English. This is their second home and so is kept to a very good standard. The area is very quiet and so close to the beach which is stunning, once you walk over the sand dunes, so we could take a long stroll every morning in either direction to a coffee stop and then back. The local restaurants are literally a 4 min walk, and very welcoming. A car is needed to make the most of this lovely part of Portugal, our favourite being Barcelos. Would definitely recommend this villa if you want a quiet holiday and being with nature.

Just returned from a fantastic week at Villa Ofir. As other reviewers have noted, the property and facilities exceed expectations. It truely is a wonderful Villa and equipped with everything you need for your holiday. Thank you Sandra for the warm welcome and the informative tour of the area. This was most helpful. Restaurants on the seafront on the road to Apulia are excellent. Esposende, Porto and Vianna de Castello are all great places to visit. We loved this part of Portugal.

We rented villa ofir for a two week family holiday. The welcome once we found the villa was excellent. Recommend you approach if hiring a car from the seafront road. It should then be easy to find. The owner showed us around the area showing us all the facilities. If you want to get away from the traditional med type holiday and experience a non commercial sea front base then this villa and area will be for you. We never heard another english voice for 9 days ! The villa provide all the facilities we required from kitchen equipment to the pool. When we pointed out there was no kettle the owner immediately went and bought one. adding a blow up toy for the grandson -- which was a nice touch.. We really enjoyed the proximity to the beach - enjoying the ability to use the pool and the beach in the same day. The beach was especially enjoyable in the evening when the tide was out. I would recommend a car for the area to enable easy access to other attractions and supermarkets. We visited Penedas -Geres National Park twice and is about 30/40 miles away but well worth a trip. Enjoyed Braga , Viano Castello , Povoa Varzim , Barcelos. The children went to Porto using the metro from Povoa Varzim - there is a large car park next to the station. Only down point was the sea mist which could envelope the area at any time and block out the sun... Two pillows would also be nice :) Thanks for a very enjoyable holiday.......
