Traditional listed Polish house 4bed 2bathroom large garden in Myslenice, Near Krakow, Zakopane, Skiing, Wieliczka salt mine, All bedding, towels and house cleaning included. Can walk to town.

Lovely lovingly restored traditional listed polish house in Myslenice close to krakow (30 minutes). Dont take our word for it Check our other house "the retreat and the reviews from our visitors over the last 10 years. the support you get staying at the house is second to none, this is very important. Our English speaking parents in law manage the property when we are not there and everyone has commented from our other Polish house how helpful they are should you need any help with anything.

There is so much to do in this part of Poland, most comment two weeks is not enough time and we have regular returning visitors to our properties from all over the world. Krakow with the largest square in Europe, its castle, the Jewish quarter are a must for a couple of days. the rafting between Poland and Slovakia is breathtaking and not dangerous, Polish mountain men in traditional clothes punt you down river for two hours between the mountains.
The salt mine with its endless carved chambers and underground carved church and museum is everyones favourite. Zakopane with its high mountains and James Bond cable car to the summit, the restaurants mountain men and summer walking or winter skiing. Aushwitz and Berken are an hour away sobering but most agree a life changing experience to visit. the local town of Myslenice is very much a Polish town where you will not be charged tourist prices like Krakow. A top restaurant comes to roughly ten pounds a head for a good steak and a couple of pints or glasses of wine or of course polish vodka. You can walk back to the house in 15 minutes from the centre.
There is a new ski slope a mile from the house and plenty of other slopes within an hours drive, we are having more guests each winter for the ski season as the prices for passes and good ski equipment hire are fantastically low still in Poland. a great place to get your kids taught by English speaking instructors, our children learnt snowboarding and skiing at a local slope 15 minutes away at 10 pounds for one hour including instructor and hire of equipment. Please e mail us via villarenters to ask any questions about the area or house, we can arrange pretty much anything for you , bike hire, horse riding, white water rafting, mountain climbing, ski instruction etc. regards Bill

4 out of 4 people recommend staying here

I stayed here with a total of 4 people and had a really good time here. The house is really spacious, clean and the feel is just like in the photos. But the main benefit of this property is its location: - Not in Krakau, so really cheap local polish restaurants and beer - Near Krakau, you can easily get there by car or bus and you can easily negotiate a taxi back for 100 zloty even at 6.30 am. ) Beautiful old city with beautiful people. - Easily accessible, Myslenice has good road connections. - There is a river you can swim in - In the vicinity of places like the Saltmines, Auschwitz and Tatra mountains so perfect for day trips. Then there is the support you get when staying at the house. Bill (the owner) met us there and even though it was already quite late he took all the time we needed to explain eveything there is to do in the region. And writing down everyhting on a map of Myslenice so we could find everything without a problem (except for an underground pub which was sadly closed down :s). Any questions we had after that were quickly answered by text or e-mail. Bill really makes sure that you know where the fun is in the area. The property itself is really nice as well. Its clean and nicely restored. It has 2 bathrooms so morning routine is a bit quicker. And has a beautifull garden on the front as well as a place to sit at the back of the house. The kitchen is complete with enough dishes and glasses. All the facilities worked perfectly hot showers, cool fridge, tv with dvd-player and central heating. The only criticism I have was that the frying pan was a bit awfull, but with so many good and cheap restaurants you arent going to use that anyway. I would really recommend this property to anyone wanting to explore Krakau and its surroundings from a comfortable place to stay which isnt to touristic.
Owner reply:

Thanks and noted about the frying pan which we have now replaced. regards Bill

We stayed in the Cottage Retreat for three weeks during which time our family flew in from the UK to join us for a few days each. The accommodation coped well with this influx of people. Ewa and Bill looked after us all well and were able to respond quickly and positively throughout our stay. Their warm welcome and attention meant that we quickly got to know them and by the end of our stay looked upon them as good friends. Living at the centre of an orchard with ripening fruit readily available was wonderful. The property was clean and the bed linen changed every week. We had a wonderful holiday.
Thanks Bill and Eva. We had a fantastic time in Poland and really enjoyed our stay at the Cottage Retreat which was much more than we were expecting. The property is spacious, clean, quiet and a perfect location for exploring Krakow and surrounding attractions. We will surely reccomend the property to any friends visiting Poland. Bill even visited us on our first morning to provide us with maps, guidance and tips - all of which was so useful - and we are very grateful. If we are ever lucky enough to visit Poland again we will be sure to book with you again. Thanks Suzie, Chris, Chloe and Ben
The purpose of trip was to attend the wedding of my oldest son in the town of Myslenice. Of all those who travelled to the town we felt we were the more fortunate to have found such accommodation. This is a beautiful property which served our purposes very well. It has been lovingly restored and was good value for money. It was well equipped. Our sons loved the garden where they were able to practice their cricket skills! I found Bill and Ewa very helpful with advice and guidance. They answered any questions we had, prior to our trip, very promptly. They also advised on some Polish customs and local knowledge that was helpful to know in advance. They also arranged for an additional bed to be available. We had driven from the UK and, so had access to a car at all times, but the proximity of the town and local resort of Zarabia need to be taken into account when looking at travel arrangements elsewhere. There is a good bus and taxi service from the town, about 2 km from the house. We were disappointed not to have been informed that there would be no computer access and internet before our arrival as would have brought a lap top with us. Their agent and friend Marek was helpful in arranging to supply one though this was not a great success as reception without wireless not great. The DVD player also only played our DVDs intermittently, something we have found in other European countries as well. Not the end of the world as we hadnt come to the town to watch films? I believe this is early days for the second house and therefore some adjustments still to be made. Can I make a suggestion that some information is provided in the house on things like rubbish collection days, recycling arrangements and perhaps a local map (oh yes, and a washing line and some pegs please, unless i just never found these!?). It would also be helpful to know whether the expectation is that the house is left as found. I was delighted to find that we would not be expected to clean the house through on leaving, something which is often expected in the UK. I was only disappointed not to meet Bill and Ewa who were not due to arrive in the town until after we left! Thank you again. We will be visiting again I have no doubt. I hope the town is able to recover fully from the awful floods that occured earlier in the year. There was little evidence of the impact this had had as clearly a lot of work had been done to restore the area around the river but this must have affected local businesses. It is a beautiful area and a treat to visit somewhere that is not just out to fleece the tourists. I found being out of the bustle of a town very relaxing.

a character filled house, comfortable and completely restored a short walk to the centre of myslenice where you can really enjoy a true Polish town at Polish prices but still be able to get quickly to krakow or zakopane to the main tourist sights. Bill and his wife are really helpful and great people thanks for all the local info nothing is too much trouble! The local mountain lift is really close by ྴ minutes walk from house) and 4km long to the top, great views and restaurant/pub. visit mareks pub by the river in zarabia (zlony slown) (flying elephant!) for pirogi and some live music on sundays. The salt mine is a fantastic day out as is krakow but its nice to return to the house away from the bustle and stroll back from a local night out, we went for a top dinner at the best restaurant then went out all evening to the bars and had change from twenty pounds a head! Easyjet fly to Krakow from Bristol daily (how we came) or gatwick if your in londonGary Eastman (Ivybridge devon)
