GIOIA Massa Lubrense - Sorrento area

Staying at vacation apartment Gioia you will enjoy a quiet and graceful vacation in a country house, amidst the green and thriving growth of grapevine, olive trees and lemon trees of the coast of Sorrento.
Beautifully and comfortably furnished, this apartment is ideal for those who wish to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Sorrentine peninsula and relax by the swimming pool amidst the lemon groves.
Gioia apartment is a graceful two bedroom apartment of approximately 100 square meters which sleeps four persons.

It is located on the ground floor of a country villa with independent access from the main entrance of the property and reached by climbing 14 steps up through owner´s side terrace and going down 15 steps amongst lemon groves.
It has a patio on same level as the swimming pool and a gazebo equipped with table and chairs to relax and dine outdoors. From the front and side of the apartment you can see the blue of the sea framed by the green of the foliage of olives trees and lemon trees.
The apartment has new modern furniture.
Entrance is from ground floor patio onto large lounge / dining room.
Open plan kitchen well equipped. One double + 1 twin bedroom, shower room with shower cubicle, wc and lavabo.

Gioia shared swimming pool measures 7,50 m X 4,00 m. and its depth is from 1,00 m. to 1,80 m. Owner will have the pool open as from end of May to the beginning of October, but promised that if weather continues to hold he will not empty the pool ‘till end of October!

The apartment is reached through a narrow and ancient country road, approximately 250 meters long, from the large Piazza S. Francesco, where large cars parking is available and luggage porterage is included both on arrival and departure.
"This road was built centuries ago, when the only transportation was provided by one´s own feet and perhaps a mule.
The purpose of the road was to provide a short path among the fruit trees to reach the property. Hard to believe, the road has been left just the way it was, with its characteristic stone wall on the edges, except for the pavement that has been improved to let a very small car go through. While making the access to the property more difficult, this road also has assured that the area stay free of pollution and noise, and the air is fresh and clean like in few other places. Along this very same road the centre of Massa Lubrense can be reached in fifteen minutes by foot".
Notice : For those who choose to park in the Piazza S. Francesco parking is free of charge but not private and on Friday morning there is a street market when vehicles have to be parked a little further away. Car Recommended.

Check-in procedure
Check-in time is between 3,00 and 8,00 p.m. You will be met and taken to the booked accommodation, asked for a photo copy of your Id or passport, any extras and the Breakage deposit (in cash only in any currencies) € 300,00 – this is refunded on your departure day, less any breakages.

We strongly recommend contacting our land agents the day before or early morning of your arrival day, to let them know how you intend getting to the resort and approximate arrival time, they will in this occasion be able to advise of any local fiestas, roads closed etc...

Check-out time is between 07:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
On departure the property has to be left tidy, with the kitchen clean and free from trash. Should these conditions not be respected, there will a deduction from the deposit - amount corresponding to the extra cleaning time

Arrival and departure times can be arranged outside these times for this service a supplement of € 55,00 is applied.

Location
After the bustle and noise of the tourist centers along this coast, the position of Gioia apartment is quiet and peaceful.
It is 2 Km. away from the main centre of Massa Lubrense with all shops, banks etc...
The nearest bus stop to Massa Lubrense and Sorrento is 900 m.
The larger and well-known town of Sorrento is about 8 Km. from the apartment and from here there are ferry boats and hydrofoils to Naples, Capri, Ischia, Amalfi and Positano, as well as go on mini-cruises.
The nearest railway station (Circumvesuviana line to Pompeii, Naples) is also in Sorrento.
The nearest beach is Marina della Lobra (5 Km.). Positano is about 16 Km. away from the property. The distance to Naples is 60 Km.
A car is recommended if you are staying at Gioia.

How to get there
The easy way to get to Gioia (San Francesco / Massa Lubrense) from Naples/Rome Airport or Naples Train station is to rent a car.

Once at the property you can get around also by public transport as parking in some towns is hard to come by and expensive.
Public Buses operate year-around connecting Massa Lubrense - Marina del Cantone - Sant´Agata and Sorrento.
The main bus terminal is Sorrento for buses to all the Amalfi Coast villages.
Ferries from Sorrento (from May to October) operate a service between Amalfi - Positano - Capri Island - Naples.
