Cosmic Villas is delighted to present this villa nestled in a remote spot close to the village of Baltanas.
This villa is an ancient Spanish house, furnished with wonderful family heirlooms and tastefully restored to suit modern lifestyles. The villa is made up of the main house, a guest house and a pavilion, which specialises in hosting creative events.
The exteriors are made up of traditional stone, with a bell at the roof and boasting spectacular views of the countryside. Within the grounds, there are woodlands, a pergola for alfresco dining, a vegetable garden and ecological farm. There is a private pool where guests can enjoy a relaxing soak within peaceful surroundings.
The main house has seven bedrooms and is decorated in an opulent style, with rich red tones and antique wooden furniture. There are several sitting areas for relaxing, with two large living rooms with cosy fireplaces and two well-stocked libraries. The red sitting room has plush neutral and floral-print sofas, a vintage writing desk and traditional art on the walls. The second, more modern living space is airy with brown sofas and honey-toned art.
There is a futuristic fully-equipped kitchen perfect for self-catering, decorated in red and white with plenty of prep space and glossy scarlet panelling. Dine around the striking blue formal table or alfresco on the terrace. In the corridors, there are patterned rugs on the hardwood floors and portrait art.
The bedrooms are a mixture of double and twin rooms, with beautiful bedspreads in colours including duck egg blue and floral red and gold. The rooms are bathed in natural light from the wooden shutter-windows and the homely decor makes the bedrooms a wonderful place to retreat to at the end of a long day exploring the surrounding area.
In the guest house, there are two charming bedrooms, one double and one single in sky blue and yellow, respectively. The bedspreads are beautiful - the yellow one is patterned in a brocade style and the bed in a private nook inside the room. There is a large open living area with a fireplace and a fully-equipped kitchen. On the terrace below there are fragrant almond trees and a dining area with a barbecue.
The pavilion has been adapted for professional use, from family events, conferences and workshops. It has its own kitchen and two lovely terraces absolutely ideal for open-air activities like yoga. There is also plenty of parking available nearby.

Nestled within a serene spot 4km from Baltanas, which is famous for its 400 wineries all carved into the hill named El Castillo. Baltanas is the capital of the El Cerrato region, close to Castilla y Leon and 30km from Palencia. There are stunning countryside views in all directions from the villa, as the location is fairly remote.
The wine region between Ribera del Duero, Cigales, Rueda and Arlanza consists of medieval to contemporary producers, many of which have been in the family for hundreds of years. Around Baltanas there are also picturesque ancient churches and gorgeous sweeping countryside views.
There are many walking and bicycle trails around the Castillian hills, through fields of wheat and around the wetlands. El Cerrato is the ideal spot to reconnect with nature and appreciate the landscape. The area is popular with birdwatchers as it is home to many native species and diverse birdlife. Guests can go canoeing or kayaking around the famous Canal de Castilla and enjoy a peaceful day navigating the waters that stretch around the region.
Foodies will love this area, as charcuterie tastings including Iberico ham and local cheese are available. The villa can help you organise a gastronomy experience to sample the charcuterie or try a tapas course. In the area, there is a flagship cheese industry, where handcrafted Quesos Cerrato cheese is produced.
Take a day trip around the Castilla y Leon area, as there are many examples of Romanesque and Renaissance architecture and plenty of pretty towns to stroll around. The Roman villa of La Olmeda is a fine example of the archaeological wonders of the area - it was once a palace of the Roman empire, and it has stunning mosaics.
See a fine example of Visigothic art at the San Juan Basilica in El Cerrato, and take a trip to Segovia to see the famous Aqueduct, made up of 107 arches. It is one of the best-preserved pieces of Roman architecture and beautifully symbolises Segovia. Also in Segovia, you will find Alcazar Castle that inspired Disney's Sleeping Beauty, with bewitching turrets, surrounded by a moat and green wilderness. Enjoy the stunning view from the top of the tower.
