Help yourself to herbs, fruits, and vegetables from the kitchen garden, which features rhubarb and asparagus in the spring, aubergines and peppers in the summer, and seasonal fruits like figs, plums, and pears.
This is in addition to the generous welcome basket with beer, wine, and olive oil, as well as garden produce and fresh eggs from the resident hens, which is provided upon arrival.

You can get your morning croissants and fresh bread from the charming village shop, or spend the day at market in the picturesque old towns of Thiviers (especially renowned for its foie gras and truffle markets in the winter) and Excideuil, both of which are only a 10-minute drive away.
Another great experience in this historic city known for its gastronomy is the twice-weekly market in Périgueux, and look out for atmospheric night markets taking place throughout the region in late July and August.

There are also idyllic villages to visit, such as Saint-Jean-de-Côle and Ségur-le-Château, walking and cycling trails through lush landscapes, canoeing along the river in the lovely town of Brantôme, and famous French castles nearby, such as Château de Hautefort and Jumilhac.
