Château dates back to the 12th century, when a significant Cistercian abbey was established. Until the French Revolution, the abbot lived in the palais, while the lay brothers lived in the château and the surrounding land was developed into vineyards, pastures, waterways, and forests.
Its current owners fell in love with the vast estate and took it upon themselves to restore this special place's spiritual and natural heritage.

Guests have access to two heated swimming pools and a tennis court, as well as mature parkland, century-old trees, ponds and a canal, a vineyard, and idyllic terraces for alfresco dining. In this magnificent setting, a romantically restored Orangery could be a picture-perfect wedding reception venue.

The impressive château sleeps up to 15 guests in nine bedrooms and exudes classic authenticity with traditional décor and contemporary touches throughout its expansive living and dining rooms.
The charming palais sleeps up to 14 guests and includes a home-cinema lounge, library, and elegant kitchen with a Lacanche oven and appliances.
Bathrobes, high-end eco toiletries, and the palais' two saunas and jacuzzi are among the extras.

There is so much to discover beyond the walled grounds on the 750-hectare estate.
Cycle along the old Roman road, bike or hike through the eco-forest, take long walks along the nature reserve's shores, and enjoy picnics by the swimming beach, perhaps with some fishing or bird-watching thrown in for good measure.
There's also a bio-dynamic farm nearby, as well as vineyards and winery tours, which can be arranged.

Restaurants are a short drive away, a small village is only 2km away, and Beaune, home to the famous Hospices de Beaune, is only 12km away by car, with its twice-weekly market, charming wine bars, and historic atmosphere.
The Route des Grands Crus wine villages and vineyards are nearby, with Puligny Montrachet, Pommard, Volnay, and Meursault all within 15km.

The nearby town of Chagny is also a delight, with its Sunday morning market and three Michelin-starred 100-year-old restaurant, Maison Lameloise.
