Château, which is set in its own private walled grounds, was once part of a vast Cistercian abbey's estate dating back to the 12th century and was home to the lay brothers for hundreds of years until the French Revolution.
The current owners, who fell in love with the domaine, have spent the last decade reviving and restoring this magnificent château while respecting its rich history, spiritual and natural heritage.
This spacious residence now has seven elegantly furnished bedrooms and an impressive apartment, which can accommodate up to 15 guests.
The château exudes authenticity, with traditional décor and characterful features mixed in with contemporary touches - there is a true sense of classic style throughout.
With two large lounges, a high-ceilinged dining room, and a well-equipped kitchen, the living spaces are especially inviting.
Discover the idyllic terrace for al-fresco dining, the tranquil monastic garden, a peaceful pond and canal, vineyards and an orchard, and the heated swimming pool within the nine hectares of your private walled grounds.
In such a magnificent setting, the perfectly restored Orangery is an ideal reception venue for a grand Burgundy wedding.
Beyond the château, there is still much to discover on the 750-acre estate.
Cycle along the old Roman road, hike or horseback ride through the vast eco-forest, picnic by the nature reserve's étang, and take a tour of the nearby bio-dynamic farm.
You might even see the farm's wild pigs roaming the woods.
A small village is only 2 kilometers away, restaurants are a short drive away, and the beautiful town of Beaune, Burgundy's wine capital, is only 12 kilometers away by car.
Visit its twice-weekly market for a bounty of local produce, sample Côte de Beaune in the town's restaurants and bars, and marvel at the incredible Hospices de Beaune, one of France's most significant historic structures.
Follow the Route des Grands Crus by foot, bike, or car, passing through beautiful wine villages such as Pommard, Puligny Montrachet, Volnay, and Meursault, as well as their surrounding vineyards, all within 15 kilometers.
Book a table at Maison Lameloise, a 100-year-old restaurant in Chagny with three Michelin stars, or travel further afield to learn about Autun's Roman heritage or Cluny's magnificent abbey.
Another jewel of this glorious part of Burgundy is the Parc Naturel Régional du Morvan, which offers even more outdoor adventures.
