Local to the apartment you will find some of our favourite restaurants, for the meat lovers Meson Los Naranjos is very spanish and you can cook your steak to your liking on the hotstone at the table. La Galera is great for your Italian favourites, Pura Asia for your Asian cuisine and for your Breakfasts, you will find Snack Attack just over the road. The village of La Cala has something for everyone for breakfasts, snacks, lunches and for the evening you have Legends for your entertainment and the Glitzy Olivias.
La Cala de Mijas is popular for those who want a relaxing holiday yet close enough to walk to all facilities. . You don’t even need a car, transfers from Malaga airport are reasonable and the main bus stop to Fuengirola is approximately 150m from the apartment. You can go to Fuengirola or Malaga on the frequent bus service and from Fuengirola there is a train every 30 mins for just over €2 to the airport.
For those of you who enjoy a short stroll, the market is on Wednesday and Saturday and you can pick up all your fruit and veg straight from the farmers stalls. The local restaurants offer the catch from the fishing boats which go out early morning and supply the “chiringuitos” along the beach. , La Cala does not have a strip of high rise hotels and has retained the charm of the little fishing village it once was.
If you wish to explore further afield La Cala de Mijas is in a prime location for day trips to Granada, Sevilla, Ronda, Malaga and Gibraltar. In winter you can ski in the Sierra Nevada in the morning and catch the last of the sun on the beach in La Cala in the afternoon. This apartment is not suitable for people with restricted mobility as there is no lift.
