Hi, I'm Alice, a novelist and cellist, and my husband is a professor at the University of London (where we live). We have one daughter, who is 20, and two long-haired miniature dachshunds. We both work hard but love best to relax at Seascape, which we've owned for a decade (it is only a decade old). We bought it thanks to an inheritance, a day after my husband had done the Samaria Gorge for the third time - I will NEVER do the Samaria Gorge, stunning as it is!!! - that's a seven-hour trek! Anyway, he was too tired to do much, so I said, 'Let's just take a look at property.' Seascape was the second place we looked at, and we agreed to buy it only fifteen minutes later! We find its combination of quietness (it's not in a town) and closeness to the vibrancy of Chania absolutely perfect. The people are friendly, the tavernas are great, the beaches are lovely, and, from the moment you step out of the plane, you can feel the London stress oozing out of you. We can be in Chania - or at Chania airport - in only twenty minutes, at the beach in five minutes, and the sun never stops shining from April to late October (we came once in December, to buy furniture, and got rained on every day!!! - so it is perfect only half the year!) But we highly recommend from April to the beginning of November! Alice
