Hi there! We're Dan and Katharine and we live in Nottingham, England with our 3 young children. We both work full time in IT and telecommunications respectively and so we try to 'escape' to Sicily whenever we can, to spend quality time there in our holiday home with our children and friends or other family members. Why we chose Sicily and this area We first visited Sicily in 2001 and instantly fell in love with the area: the elegance and chic of Taormina, the bustling bars, restaurants and beaches of Giardini-Naxos, the beautiful and much quieter village of Castelmola, and of course Mount Etna: she never ceases to surprise us! The local culture, history, food and climate obviously played a big part and we found the local people incredibly friendly and welcoming. The area is also easily accessible with Catania airport less than an hour's drive away. What makes this villa unique We viewed many properties in the area before finding this villa and it really was a matter of “love at first sight”. We still remember that moment in November 2005, standing on the terrace mesmerized by the view out to the sea across to Etna and thinking to ourselves: this is the one! We've made many improvements since both on the inside and the outside of the villa and had a swimming pool built in 2008 but to this day it still remains the breathtaking views, the blissful tranquility of the location and intense feeling of spaciousness that makes our holiday home so special to us, as it does to our many regular guests from all around the world!
