We had a lovely week long stay at The Malt House and quite honestly could not fault a single thing about the property.
The house was lovely &amp; spacious and the owners had provided lots of extras we weren't expecting which was really helpful. 
The location of the property was perfect, the high street is practically on your doorstep with an excellent choice of shops &amp; pubs that we used most days. Our 2 young children made good use of the park behind the property which we hadnt realised was there initially so it was a lovely bonus find!
Rothbury as a base was great, we had some fabulous days out and i don't think we ever travelled for more than an hour in the car to get anywhere.
I would recommend the property &amp; area to anyone, there is something for everyone to enjoy  and The Malt House is a lovely place to return to at the end of a long day exploring!

A lovely little cottage in beautiful village with a medium sized Coop and three pub/restaurants in easy walking distance. Everything that we could have wanted was provided from the normal bed linen and towels down to cling film, toilet rolls and washing up liquid. So often it is difficult to clean after a stay in a rented cottage but everything was there. Many of the neighbours are elderly so very peaceful - once you get used to the church clock bells every 15 minutes.
Easy driving distance to Alnwick and the coast with fantastic views along the road. Cragside just along the road definitely worth a visit.

We had a most enjoyable stay in this lovely house. The location is excellent - a good base from which to explore beautiful Northumberland and with all the convenience of a village location. Despite being in the village, the house is very tranquil as it is just tucked away at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. There are lovely walks from the property along the riverside including a walk to nearby Cragside which is well worth a visit as are Alnwick and the Garden and the coast a short drive away. A bonus is the opportunity for a day trip to Edinburgh from Alnmouth - about a 30 minute drive to the station, with free parking and an hour on the train to Edinburgh Waverley, taking you straight into the centre.

Our family of 3 adults and 2 children stayed in this accommodation over the October half term break 2014 for 5 nights whilst visiting key sites local to the cottage in Northumbria.

We had a lovely time. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a welcome bottle of wine and chocolate cake which was a lovely touch. The cottage had all the modern amenities required for a self-catering stay, and was conveniently located in the centre of the lovely village of Rothbury, with only a 2 minute walk to the local convenience store, and a choice of several delightful village pubs. 

Lovely walks into the countryside are just on the doorstep and the cottage is within easy reach of local attractions such as Alnwick Castle (15 minutes max) and Seahouses (for the seal cruise) and Holy Island to name a few.

Highly recommended and we will certainly return should we wish to visit Northumbria again in the future.

Modern property in the centre of Rothbury in a quiet location. The owner seemed to have thought of most things for a comfy stay. Good cooking facilities. Range of shops locally very good all within easy walking distance. No need to travel to shop for your groceries. If you prefer to eat out there several options, more pub food than restaurant, but good none the more. Again within easy walking distance. We liked Rothbury, on our travels around the area we did not see anything any better.
