Quintino

We had a fabulous holiday based at the Torre di Villa Neviera and explored much of Puglia. We were made to feel so welcome by all who we met on our travels and feel that we truly have lived the Italian life. We were warmly welcomed by the very hospitable Quentino who ensured we had a perfect stay. The Torre is quite unique and there is an air of age and mystery. Bianca and Marcello were wonderful housekeepers who went out of their way to ensure we had a great time. It helped that one of our party is Italian speaking as they do not speak English, however their warmth and enthusiasm was felt by the non Italian speakers regardless. Cellino san Marco is a quiet and sleepy place that is a maze of narrow streets- we only found the centro on our last evening! Lecce is a beauty and our first encounter was for a meal in the evening . . .  this was stunning with the baroque architecture lit up. 
Puglia is not the most obvious of Italy's tourist destinations and, scenery wise, it does not compare with other parts. What made this holiday totally special was the Torre itself, which was an experience like nothing we've had before. But also, the fact that this is not a touristic region made our visit special because of the feeling we had of being immersed int Italian life.

The house was fantastic.  Its huge and very beautiful.  The grounds round the house are vast and it was great picking figs and lemons in the morning. The house keeper and her husband were very helpful and friendly.  The owners were flexible, we arrived early and they let us into the property before the  official start of the rental.  The only slight confusion was we shared a kitchen and there wasnt a dishwasher.  That said the house was so wonderful  I would really recommend this as a base for a holiday.
