We live in a small seaside town on the west coast Scotland, having retired in 2007 after working and living in various countries for many years (including Italy), once we retired we decided that we needed a project in our lives to keep us sane and with the our love of the Italian culture it was the natural choice to find something in Italy to restore. The Gran Sasso & Maiella Mountains both have a mass expanse of National Parks to explore which offer numerous leisure activities including walking, rock climbing, skiing, swimming, horse-riding, bird watching, exploring ancient villages, monuments and churches, wine tasting and eating delicious local produce. And on the edge of the Maiella National Park with soaring peaks and incredible wild life including bears and wolfs. Here the sightseeing views are breath-taking of the Abruzzo region at its best.
