Spent two lovely weeks in the Pink Cottage March 7th to 21st 2017. Got the breakfast watching the hummingbird through the kitchen window! You need a car as the access road is "interesting"! We enjoyed relaxing in the garden after a hard day on the beach. Adored the resident cats, we miss the visits from Cleo and her mates. Sonia was so helpful from the moment we arrived. Thank you so much. The only thing we missed was air-conditioning, it was so hot you ended up wetter after a shower than during it! Take plenty of mozzy repellant. The stronger the better, I smothered myself every day but still ended up with over 36 bites during the holiday.

Hi Susan Thank you for your review, I'm so pleased you both had a nice stay overall at Pinkshack, I know that you enjoyed the garden space very much and made the most of the sun lounge chairs provided, these are our new addition, along with out new cookout station BBQ patio with table and chairs so guests can make most of the Pinkshack gardens... We miss you too... I'm a bit confused and wondering what went wrong with communication about the air conditioning thing though, because you have an air conditioning unit fully working in the cottage, I'm positive that I mentioned the air conditioning is an optional extra for 20USD per night when you first checked in... I'm so sorry that there was some misunderstanding about that, because had I known you were getting too hot on occasion I would have suggested the air conditioning optional extra, because its very effective indeed and turns the cottage into a very cool space or even into an ice box if you need it... I'm genuinely sorry about that, I really am and wish I could have known so that I could fix it for you... The pussycats miss you very much and thank you so much as well for leaving the cottage so clean and tidy and also for looking after Mandy the Mitsubushi jeep... Take care and all the best and thank you again for a lovely review...

The pink shacks are delightful. Brilliantly planned so every inch of space is used, they are spotlessly clean and Sonja has thought of everything you could need. She was constantly on hand to advise us and introduced to her network of local contacts so we tended to use taxis rather than hire a car. We also took a trip out to the reef for snorkelling followed by being dropped at a local beach restaurant for the afternoon and then were picked up again at 4pm. It adds immeasurably to your street cred to be picked up by boat. The accommodation is in a fairly quiet rural area but is not that far from the airport and St Johns and the accommodation was excellent value for Antigua in high season. Would thoroughly recommend.

My wife & I booked a week at Pink Shack Studio Cottage in Five Islands Village in Antigua at relatively short notice. We were in contact with owner, Sonja from the start. On arrival Sonja gave us a great informative 30 minute tour of the local sites and beaches on the Five Islands peninsula to orientate us, which was a big help as the area does not appear very well described in guide books on Antigua. And although we were staying just a 10 minute drive from the capital St. Johns, the Five Islands area is very unspoilt and relatively cut off from other more tourist areas. The accommodation was self-contained and any requests to Sonja were happily granted, making our stay a wonderful experience. We decided the best and quietest beaches were the small secluded cove in front of Georgio Armani's private house and the first & third of the four consecutive Hawksbill beaches. A vehicle is not 100% necessary, but is recommended to get to see the many beautiful beaches and sites that Antigua has to offer. Finding somewhere to eat in the Five Villages area was more difficult as the several 'all inclusive' hotels in the area made buying a day pass or bookings in advance a necessity, however we usually had lunch at the Hawksbill Beach Hotel which charged us a reasonable price for what we ate. Other times we ate in at the Pink Shack after shopping in St Johns, also in restaurants in St Johns or elsewhere on the island. The only small gripes we had with the accommodation were the intermittent internet access, out of Sonja's control, a problem with the internet provider and occasionally a dog barking next door early in the morning (Sonja's small toy breed dogs never were a problem). All in all we had a fantastic stay here and would happily recommend it to anyone else wanting to book a small cottage away from the packaged holiday crowds.

Hier gibt es Natur pur und "Real Life of Antigua". Alles in allem war es ruhig und wir würden aufjedenfall wieder kommen.

We stayed at Pink Shack Cottage for the week of September 20-27, 2014. We had such an amazing time here in Antigua! Sonja, the owner of the property, is the nicest person and is so accommodating. She is extremely friendly and cheerful and was very welcoming to us on our arrival and throughout the entire week. She took us on a tour around to the various beaches near the cottage. She recommended various restaurants and gave wonderful directions when we needed them. The cottage itself is so cute and cozy. It is impeccably clean and tidy. The porch has seats and a table great for having coffee in the morning and listening to the birds chirp and the tropical greenery and palm trees sway with the breeze. Within 5 minutes driving time are many gorgeous beaches that are easily accessible to get to. These are: Hawksbill Beaches (4), Galley Bay, Armani Beach, Hideaway Bay, and Deep Bay. There is Fort Barrington at Deep Bay that you can hike up to for the most spectacular view of the bays and the mountains, as well as seeing the old fort and walking through it. Close by is also a great panoramic view of the Five Islands community that you can drive to most of the way and then walk the rest of the way up. The port city and capital of St. John is about 10 minutes away by car and that is where you can get groceries and supplies at the market, fresh fruits and vegetables, and where we ate most dinners. I highly recommend C&C Wine Bar, Big Banana Pizzas in Paradise, and Freds Belgium waffles and ice cream. They are all in Redcliffe Quay. I would recommend renting an SUV of some sort to have access to the other parts of the island. Some other beaches and places of interest are: Jolly Harbor area, Valley Church Beach The Nest Beach Bar, Ffrye Beach, Darkwood Beach, Turner Beach, Hermitage Beach, Shirley Heights, Devils Bridge. We had such an amazing time here and did not want to leave. I have already recommended this cottage to multiple people we met on the trip who stayed in secluded resorts. They were quite jealous when we told them about Pink Shack Cottage, the beautiful area of Five Islands, and what other parts of the island we were able to see with a rental car. I will also be recommending this cottage to my other friends where we live in Texas. We cant wait to go back and visit again! We already miss Sonja and her cute little dogs!

Our family of four stayed at Avocado Cottage for three weeks in April/May. We found it spacious and comfortable, and as such, good value for the cost. The location was ideal and quiet, and along with our vehicle rental allowed us easy access to all areas of the island. I would highly recommend this property to someone who is looking for a location other than a resort yet is wanting to be central to all amenities such as beaches, shopping and sightseeing. The owner, Sonja, lives up the street and is very helpful. She took us on a tour of the area, providing commentary and information regarding the local history and flora.

The Pink Shack is a hidden gem we stayed for six weeks starting in April and ending in June. The cottage was as described and the Five Islands village was rural ethnic Caribbean with the people so friendly. Beautiful beaches within walking distance and the capital St Johns a short bus ride away or a forty minute walk. The capital is a busy vibrant town where you can try almost any type of cuisine and any drink.! Sonja the owner was so helpful and friendly nothing was too much trouble, she took us on a tour of the area to show where all the beaches were she supplied us with a cool box and lightweight sun beds. The village BBQ on Thursdays and Saturdays were great fun with good food and cold beers! We will certainly go back again and would recommend the cottage to anyone who wants a tranquil getaway in a quaint cottage in a tropical garden. Perfect!!

We had a wonderful time at Jolly Harbour. The Jimmy Buffet Villa was larger than we expected. We had five adults and we had plenty of room. It was very clean and well equipped. Sonja was wonderful and kept in touch with us on a regular basis. It is a few minutes from the North Beach which is quiet and very beautiful. We went swimming everyday. There is beautiful view from the large private patio with a large barbeque and plenty of furniture. The fridge and stove were newer and worked well. There were not any bugs in the Villa anywhere. The bathrooms were very clean with lots of towels. The only problem was with the Master bedroom toilet did not flush very well and the air conditioner was dripping. Sonja said it was going to be repaired. Jolly Harbour is a low keyed atmosphere with many good restaurants. Everyone is very friendly. The grocery store is well stocked with pretty well anything you need. The prices are a not bad. We rented a car and went to English Harbour. Shirley Heights is a must. We went downtown St. Johns shopping. Felt very safe at all times. The driving was easy. I would not recommend the Fish & Chip Double Decker Bus. My sister got very sick. The Crows Nest was fun with good food. I would recommend the Jimmy Buffet Villa. It was good value, clean and private.

We have just returned from spending 8 wonderful days at the Pinkshack Cottage. The property is well furnished to a high standard, everything you need is provided, the cottage is spotless. Sonja, the owner, is a charming hostess and every day she makes you feel special with nice details such as giving you fruit from a lovely tropical garden, we even had a guided tour highlighting the various plants, shrubs and trees. Sonja gave us helpful information about the area. Her little dogs are very friendly and well behaved About the village, we strongly recommend the chicken and fresh fish barbecue which you takes place every Thursday and Saturday, near the hairdresser. The small village store/pub provides basic provisions such as bread, local fresh eggs...The closest beach (10 mn walk) is one of the most beautiful beaches. We also took the buses from Five Islands village to St. Johns, very typical and good service.
