very bad villa in term of equipments and comfort, what a shame to suggest such villa for such money real mis-selling!!!! Except the view which is wonderful and the calm as the villa is located almost on the top of a mountain, the rest is really very bad: all the equipment's of this villa are vetust (except the TV), we have found the fridge with a big layer of ice, the airco which was mentioned in the description is totally missing, the airco is available only in the studio which is independent from the villa. In the villa only fans in the bedrooms doing a crazy noise: you have the choice to sleep with fans supporting their noise or follow the stupid and wrong recommendations of the owner: open the Windows and you will have a fresh breeze forgetting to explain that if you do that then you'll have to fight with mosquitos as all mosquito nets are also vetust having no effect. The description is totally biased regarding the location of the villa: it is really isolated in the mountain, there are few houses around but only one was occupied all the rest closed. in case of issue, you are really isolated from any urgent help if needed. Every day you will have to put the rubbish is your car, drive 20 minutes to throw them out in a big bag. You must do this every day especially if you eat fish... The quality of the bed is just mediocre, bed-linen just a big joke while the cushion should have been bought 15 years ago smelting very bad! The cleanliness of the house is just amazing bad, we have had to spend half day to clean it again.
Again apart of the view which is very nice (superb view on the valley with the sea very far), the swimming pool is nice but as you are in the mountain you have lot of insect's, lot of wasps around the swimming pool, very aggressive. 

This is a big shame to suggest such villa for such price and with so poor description, very old and bad equipment's (except the TV which is new) all the rest is mediocre: beds, kitchen (no toasted, no microwave, bad fridge not keeping the products more than 2 days, no airco except in the studio, the temp was 34-36 C, no mosquito nets, totally isolated). I strongly not recommend this villa for such money, big shame!!!  Clear why this villa was the unique available when I was looking to book something convenient....

Sad to say that this villa only scored a 1 star for me because of the lack of accuracy with the advert. To start it said 300m to next villa which was in fact about 20 metres both sides. The basement room isn't even part of the main house you can only access this room by going outside into the garden and walking down the stairs to get in, this ruined the holiday as we felt disjointed from the other party in our group. The road leading to the villa even though not the owners fault is very poor it resulted in me getting a flat tyre costing me £100 to fix. The WiFi, it says you have WiFi but no internet absolutely ridiculous for a young family that needs to be entertained tried contacting the person the owners leave in charge of the villa but with no response ever!. No guide to the house, you are just handed a set of keys and told to get on with it. No Manuel for anything, no times of when people turn up to clean the pool or gardening. The fridge and freezer didn't work the amount of food we had to throw was a sin. The villa was cluttered with previous renters stuff inside and not very clean. It states air-con but this isn't true. they do have air-con but this is in the basement room separate from the main house so main house is rather hot not fit for young children. The washing machine was old, dirty and smelt of damp dog which made our clothes smell. The only positive thing we took from the villa was the lovely view we had. we have been miss sold and at a premium price. it just seems to be a money cow for the owners. 

Recommendations to villa owners: Correct inaccuracies in advert, Visit the villa from time to time to check that standards are high, user guide for keys and light switches, change the fridge and washing machine, have someone meet you that has knowledge of the villa not some random guy turn up and take £120 off you for cleaning etc, get air-con everywhere. Lower your price if these things cant be corrected.

My family and I stayed at the villa from June 28th until July 12th 2015. The whole booking process was easy and communication with the owner was very good. 

Upon arrival at Alicante airport, we rang up the keyholder as advised and he met us just off the toll road and took us up to the villa. We were given clear directions to the villa but being met by the keyholder was very helpful indeed.

The villa itself is beautiful. It is very clean, the grounds are well maintained and the pool is simply a great escape from the heat. The grounds are very private, with trees and bushes providing the privacy. The view from the villa is simply stunning, with a clear view of the sea in the distance. There are plenty of sunbeds and areas for al fresco dining and the barbeque was used regularly.

Inside is very well maintained. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are very comfortable, which can be a rarity in holiday accommodation. There is a new smart TV in the living area, with satellite TV (unfortunately no English language TV!) and a blue ray player.

So, a truly great base for a potentially wonderful holiday. 

However, there are a couple of points that did make our stay not quite as perfect as it could have been.

The villa is advertised as being air conditioned. There is technically air-conditioning but this is in a separate basement room under the villa which isn't accessible from inside the villa. You have to either climb down a large flight of steps from the front door or access it from the gardens via the pool. It served very little purpose to us as we slept in the villa itself, which has no air-conditioning at all. The nights were often very warm and, despite the presence of ceiling fans, it was quite difficult to sleep at times, especially for my children.

The other point is the proximity of the neighbours to the villa. The advert states that the next house is 300m away behind Oleander hedges. This, however, isn't true as there are villas on 3 sides of the property which are within 20m of the villa. This wasn't an issue during our first week of stay as the villas were unoccupied. However, during the second week, a very loud family moved in on one side and on the other side the owner used a pneumatic drill early in the morning for several days! Both of which spoiled the tranquil feel of the villa. We found the 300m statement particularly misleading because this was our reason for choosing the villa.

Overall, I would say that the villa really does stand out from the crowd. It really is a lovely place. If the weather isn't too hot or you can take the heat then the lack of air-conditioning in the main living area may not be a problem. But I feel that this should be advertised more clearly.

If you don't mind being in close proximity to the neighbours then this villa is a lovely retreat as it isn't overlooked. If you want to be a good distance from your neighbours and have peace and quiet, like we had hoped, then I wouldn't recommend this villa, especially if the neighbouring villas are occupied.

Very nice and spacious property on a quiet spot overlooking the sea and surrounded by a pretty hillside. We particularly appreciated the pool, the comfort and the high standard of the house (3 bath rooms, well equipped kitchen,  bb-place). Unfortunately the sea is 4 miles away, but then its much cooler up there. We specially loved the flower garden and the palm trees!
We can recommend this location to everybody looking for calm and comfort in a marvelous climate.

The property is approx 4 miles from Oliva and very quiet and not overlooked ideal for a relaxing quiet holiday but not too far away from amenities. We had a wonderful time the villa was very well equipped and very clean.
If there was any down side, it would have been nice to have a welcome pack explaining a little about the villa and surrounding area. The advertised air-conditioning advertised is only in the downstairs bedroom and not in the two bedrooms or living area upstairs so could be a little misleading, and the bedding was left for us to make up on arrival - it would have been nice to have them made ready upon arrival.

Saying all that we loved the place and would certainly go back there again lovely area

We have been spending already a few times our holidays in the lovely villa and we are looking forward to come back next May. The villa and the situation itself is quiet, with a lot of space, equipped with everything you need and with really beautiful views. The whole family and espacially the kids are big fans of the pool. For us it is the perfect place for families and couples as the studio next to the poll offers a private atmosphere without being seperated from the main house. Oliva town offers a beautiful beach, a pittoresque old town with nice cafes and good restaurants, a weekly local market offering delicious fruits, vegetables, clothes etc.... the town is plenty of interesting places to explore. In the past we made some trips to nearby towns at the cost like Denia, Javea etc and next time we will visit Valencia, which is not too far away neither. We can highly recommend Villa Alder and we are really looking forward to our next holidays in May.

I can highly recommend this house in which we had a wonderful family holiday last summer.We liked it so much that we are going to go back this year .A big thank-you to the owners for letting us share their little bit of paradise on earth.

In July 2015 ,as every year for more than ten years, I rented this house for two weeks.
It's a very pleasant comfortable house with all the mod cons and is just the right thing for a quiet and restful holiday.
The house is at the end of a dead end street -so no traffic.
Both the garden and the terrace are spacious and well looked after- as the house is on a hillside there is a lovely and unobstructed view of the orange and pine trees below.
The swimming pool is a good size and very much appreciated during the long hot summer days.
Vive les vacances! Vive L'Espagne!!!!!!!
