About

Hi, I am Darryl the property manager for Villa El Espanglo and have rented it successfully on Clickstay since 2008 with several returning guests during that time and plenty of positive feedback! During and after Covid we took a break from holiday rentals made improvements to the property, the latest being a large pool house with bathroom, bar and chill out area. Mil Palmeras is a lovely resort and there are very few rental villas with private pools available in such a great location close to the beach. If you prefer more of a hiking holiday I now have a lovely villa Casa Tordera (ref: 441737) available in the market town of Tordera between Barcelona and Girona and near the Costa Brava resorts of Blanes and Lloret de Mar. If you are on a budget and looking for something smaller to rent in Mil Palmeras I also manage bookings for Casa Carmen (ref: 360244) which is a 2 bedroom Vikingo bungalow by the Olympia pool bar and restaurant and 8 mins walk to the beach so look forward to hosting you at either property this year!

A lovely villa very spacious with an outstanding outdoor space, plenty of lovely seating areas with great surroundings.Easy walk to restaurants and bars also supermarket. Great communication with owner Darryl who even got us some shopping as we had a late arrival, also taxied us to surrounding areas.would definitely recommend.

We stayed in Villa El Espanglo beginning of September, its absolutely stunning especially the outside space. The area is lovely and quiet and the villa itself is secluded making the outside space very private with lovely views. Darryl (the owner) kept in contact the whole time and even offered help with arranging taxis. The only downside I would say, like others, is it would benefit from a dishwasher but there was only two of us so not too much of a problem. The king size bed was slightly too hard for our liking but that's just personal preference and the bed could have done with a top sheet and a light blanket rather than just an empty duvet cover! I would definitely recommend and we hope to return, maybe next year.

the Villa is very spacious and great for families and couples. the star of the show is the outdoor area and the pool. the area is really large, very secluded, peaceful and quiet with lots of loungers and seating. amazing to have a bathroom at the pool area too. there's no dishwasher in the villa, which I missed. it's a very short walk to the beach and to some bars and restaurants. we were a little out of season, so some were closing. there is a list of house rules, which of course are always needed, but I would also like a list of tips and hints, how to work the washing machine, the hob, and how to access the fuse box. we had a major storm when we were there and the power went out. Overall we had a fantastic stay

We have recently stayed at Villa el Espanglo for 2 weeks. From the start and until we left the communication with the owners was great. Very helpful with advice and organising transfers to and from the airport. The villa itself is absolutely great. Three good sized bedrooms and two bathrooms. Great open plan living, kitchen and diner and the air con was a blessing. But it's the outside that was so special! with the fantastic size swimming pool and the outdoor pool area for shading. We were spending our days outside to sunbathe, read, sleep and cool off in the pool. The area itself is superb. 1km (1o min walk) to the beach and all the restaurants and bars. There is a small supermarket, pharmacy and a bar on the way. The location is perfect! If you want to wonder a little further then 30 min walk is Pilar with its marina and lots of other places. We had a fantastic stay and would recommend the place and the owners to family and friends! Thank you Darryl and Marina!

We have just spent 12 nights at the villa and had a really lovely holiday in the Spanish sun! The villa is in a good location within walking distance of the beach, restaurants and supermarket so we didn’t need to hire a car on this occasion. The airport transfer taxi (organised by the owners for us) was great and we arranged a couple of excursions directly with her instead. The outdoor space and pool area is fantastic! There are plenty of sun loungers, as well as seating in the shade. The villa itself is very private, secure and not overlooked at all. Communication with the owners Darryl and Marina was great, very straightforward and clear from start to finish. Thankyou Villa El Espanglo for a lovely lovely holiday. 😊

The location of casa carmen is fabulous , walkable distance to all facilities. The property it’s self is clean and tidy and very traditional Spanish in style , in my opinion it could do with some of the facilities updating but as I spoke to Darryl ( this host is brilliant and looks after you at the drop of a hat he couldn’t do enough for us ) about this he was pleased with my comments . Would I book again most definitely

We had a lovely holiday here and would definitely return. The property is a bit dated but we were aware of that from the advert. There are only two bathrooms though, one in the cottage and one in the villa, not three as advertised. We thoroughly enjoyed the holiday and the pool is fantastic. It was clean, a great size and a relief from the hot weather. There is a lovely beach locally and many restaurants, bars and a supermarket. The transfers were easy and reliable and Stanley was there to greet us on arrival and show us around. Darryl, the property owner, was especially helpful in answering our questions and offering advice. I would definitely recommend this property if you require a peaceful, private villa with a lovely pool within walking distance of a beach and local amenities.

Loved every minute I was their. Yes not that modern inside but every thing including washing machine you want. The star though is the pool when it lights up at night lovely and yes I would book this villa again. At the sea front a avenue of all restaurants and Market along seafront in the evening. Nice beach with play area in the edge of the sea for the kids. Paul.

On arriving at the property we are greeted by several black bin bags and old car bumper piled up at the front. Met by Stanley who briefly showed us round an never saw him again. The place was not very clean and the whole place is dated and needs refurbishing. The bathrooms and kitchen are just passable but the water runs hot then cold. The stairs down to the pool are dangerous and have cracks and tiles have bits missing. The whole place needs a paint and it has obviously slipped into disrepair. The electrics generally are a bit of a worry. I have stayed at this villa before a few years ago and sadly it has been neglected since. I found this quite embarrassing as I had taken some friends. The pool was dirty at the bottom by the time we left as no-one came to clean it which meant we really did not fancy going in. All in all a big disappointment. Might suit large stag or hen parties but not for family or friends

Very misleading review as guests are asked to contact the manager for any issues during their stay and never heard a peep from this lady until now!! So in answer to points raised, the bin bags were green garden waste from the gardeners working at the villa and left on the pavement outside the property as instructed by the Town Hall for collection. The car bumper was nothing to do with the villa and probably left by a passer-by! The property is cleaned before and after every booking with fresh laundry and the pool is maintained once a week. The villa had a refurb this year with new sunbeds, new parasol, new outdoor chairs/tables. Inside there are new sets of bedroom drawers, new tv and satelite system, new fans in all rooms, new toilet seats, new glassware and various kitchen items, new kettle, new iron, new washing machine. Main gate has also been repaired and the main lounge and pool surround have just been repainted so can't understand the guests comments at all especially as she said she has stayed previously! Yes the villa is slightly dated but has a lot of character with a lovely big pool and is in a great location close to the beach so still provides good value for money!
