Had a wonderful 11 days at this beautiful villa, if you want peace and quiet then this is the place to be. It’s out of the way with a fairly challenging drive up to it until you got used to it. When you get there it’s well worth it, the villa is even more stunning than the pictures show and the views are amazing. The owners have thought of everything to make this a home from home, the outside space is fantastic and we spent most of our time enjoying the pool and bbq which is made easier with the outside kitchen next to it. There is an outside shower room too so you don’t need to go back indoors throughout the day. The area around the villa has some great villages, the village of Iznate is lovely. and very friendly especially Bar Tejeda known locally as Alfonsos, good for a coffee in the morning and great food at night with a very friendly owner. All in all a fantastic holiday.

A diamond in the rough..

This is a villa of two halves and dependant on the time of the day or night you arrive depends which you get first.

We arrived at midnight and were met by Lara and Oscar on a quiet road where neither of us had mobile phone signal....we were then lead  a short distance to the town of Iznate and from that point onwards we followed a beaten  dust track which lead to what appeared to be nowhere - Picture an American teen movie when the teenagers are lead into the wilderness never to be seen again - ok a little over dramatic..


We arrived at the villa in the dead of night and the old adage that things often look worse at night would appear to have been true.... but as they also say, things look better in the morning and boy, oh boy are they right.

The views are stunning along the valley as is the peace and solitude. 

The diamond to this property is the Pool and outside space - this is amazing and there really is no need to step inside the villa again during the day and then returning only to sleep.

The location of this villa is quite frankly a bugger to find when you arrive in the dead of the night and we had some difficulty in finding it the first time we left and returned but on the plus side we did meet a Spanish Santa look a like and through the international language of raised voices and hand gestures we realised that we were lost and had to turn around...

This is rural Spain so local ants can be a pain but clearing up after yourself, immediately, is a must, as is a Sat Nav; as at least you can return to the the village of Iznate and then follow the directions you are given.


Our family unit loved our stay for a week and my partners daughter swimming improved ten fold and we put this down to the good outside area and atmosphere or her desire for naked swimming, either way she had fun..

Had a very pleasant fortnight at the property. Everything was as described and i have never stayed at such a well equipped villa.

The pool side catering facilities are excellent.  The route to the villa is a little daunting the first time, but it does become easier, we zipped up and down without a problem. You can walk to the village in 25-30 mins. Lovely views all around the villa and very quiet although plenty of agricultural activity going on during the day. The hammocks a big hit and the flowers and pink tree (sorry not a gardener) stunning, you can pick out the villa from miles away.

The village is beautiful if not just a little too quiet. A couple of bars, but very well maintained. We didn't bother with the two shops as we tended to go to the medium sized supermarket at Chilchers and stock up every 2 or 3 days. Very handy for trips to Malaga and Nerja. Beach only 15 mins away (Benajarafe - has all the amenities without the heaving masses). Dead easy for Malaga airport.

All in all, one of the best villas we have experienced in Spain.

We thoroughly enjoyed are holiday at Casa de Cuesta Roman.  The villa was perfect in every aspect.  

The outside areas had so many fantastic views.  I loved the outdoor kitchen and the extra bathroom outdoors was great for the kids, no soggy wet walks back into the villa every time they needed the loo. Various shaded areas were a must as it was so warm, but there was somewhere for everyone to chill out in the afternoon for a doze or a bit of reading. Also meant kids were not constantly in the sun, which is a worry at the best of times. The bbq was fab, and there was a supply of charcoal etc which we topped up before we left.  The pool was a perfect size, not too big, our youngest daughter's swimming was greatly improved by the end of the week.  We loved listening to the birds and church bells ringing in the distance, so relaxing. We also got to watch baby birds hatch (obviously from a distance). The kids loved exploring outside the villa with there dad, and picked a few limes.  There was also almond trees and peppercorn trees on the property. 

On the day we arrived the owners had kindly left some food supplies and essentials to start us of before we did a big shop, so kids got to use the pool straight away. And there was no mad rush to get to shops.  In fact we didn't need to go shopping until the next day, as we had dinner in the village which was lovely.

The bedrooms were all comfortable, and spacious. Fans in each of the rooms which we did use on the last two nights as it was becoming hotter as the week went on.  

The indoor kitchen was excellent, so well equipped, I don't know were to begin.  But it was definitely home from home, plenty of spices etc! Lovely touch was the recipe book with so many of the owners own personal recipes as well as cut outs from various magazines and recipe books.  

Wifi was fab! I know we shouldn't be checking are emails etc on hols but its one of those things we all seem to rely on nowadays. It also meant the kids could use there WhatsApp to keep in contact with there friends and granny and granda.  There was also a good selection of books, games, dvds and cards to keep us all entertained.

The drive from Iznate to the villa was at times a little scary, but we got use to it after a few days. My husband is a confident driver and we drive in rural parts of Ireland every summer so are use to dirt track roads. We went out almost every day.  However I would love to come back and not sightsee.  Just stay in the villa and chill out.

We loved our holiday, and came home very relaxed!

A lovely villa in beautiful surroundings! 
Owner being most helpful by e-mail before arrival and house manager an absolute sweetheart doing his most to feel us welcome and guiding us. 
The kitchens have all the cooking equipment you need and more, e.g. an electric fruit extractor and a fryer.
Pool area is really nice with four sunbeds and plenty of chairs. Also the hammocks were very popular for those who didnt want to lie in the sun. With a temperature of 41 degrees in the shade and not a cloud in the sky the areas with shade came in very useful!
Beautiful decorations all over the property and easy to tell the owners have taken a big effort building many spots to sit and enjoy the views. 
The road to the house is quite a challenge as it is very steep. We had a group C car from Helle Hollis, a Skoda Citigo, which just barely made it with four people in. I was very happy I had the full cover insurance as the chassis sometimes touched the median strip of the gravel road. Next time I will book a stronger car – because I do hope to have the opportunity for another stay :)

This is a really lovely villa, exceptionally well equipped and finished with great vision and imagination. The setting is perfect if you want to relax in beautiful, quiet unspoilt Spanish countryside. Our children (aged 6 and 3) especially loved the pool, the hammocks and the outside shower! Its much better even than the photos.

The casa was wonderful we had a fabulous 7 days and wished we had booked for longer. Having been to Iznate before we were worried about the access but there was no problem. Just a few little hills.  We left by the river bed to Benamacorra and it was brilliant. So quick and not a hill in sight. Stuart was very helpful with this suggestion. The casa was so private. We slept like logs and only heard the odd barking dog.the photos do not do the casa justice. The views from every part of the casa are amazing and the facilities second to none. The pool was just great and the outside kitchen was a brilliant asset. We did a good big shop in the Carrefour and only ventured out for one night. We had everything we needed and the cooking facilities were just great. We long to return and will do. A little slice of Heaven in the hills!

WOW! We had lokked at the photos time and time again before setting off hoping it could be that lovely, well it was and more! The photos cant do justice to the property at all. It was like a home from home every time we thought oh we could just do with there it was!
Kids (8 and 12) had a ball in the pool it was the perfect size for them and kept them and us very happy for our 10 day stay.
The owners couldnt do enough for us before we arrived great directions and advice on where to eat, what is there already etc meaning we travelled light. We arrived to chilled beers in the fridge as well as basics like bread, eggs milk felt so welcomed. Will recommended it to all our friends who want to go to Spain for a pool type holiday. Thank you.
