Access to villa is poor half a mile down unpaved deeply potholed road and then a steep mostly mud track. We were driving an suv but we could not avoid bottoming even at 10 mph.                                                                                                                                       Pool was good but faced north and didn't get sun or warm up until mid afternoon. Patio space was a good with a great view.
One bed was good the other stained and dirty. Ensuite shower and washing machine when in use emitted a terrible smell of sewage, in the other bathroom the bath drain was blocked
All cutlery and crockery was very dirty, obviously put away without washing. the villa was generally grubby and nothing like the upmarket villa portrayed in the pictures. We left the villa early, we had booked 3 weeks, and we left it somewhat cleaner than we found it.
Would we go there again definitely not. Would we recommend it again definitely not.
The place was a huge disappointment

<p>From first contact to the completion of our wonderful holiday the owners were a pleasure to deal with. We were given fantastic directions, and help prior to our stay, and whilst there. It was great knowing they were nearby! Both my daughter and I fell completely in love with their gorgeous dogs! Casa Amapola is just lovely...the house is well-appointed, clean and comfortable. The pool, terraces and outdoor area are fantastic. We went for a restful holiday, and that is just what we had. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend to anyone, and fully intend to re-visit as soon as possible! Thank you so much!</p>

We have just spent 10 fantastic days at Casa Amapola.  Several factors really made this property stand out.  

First, the location.  I hadnt realised it when booking, but it is built in what is primarily cultivated land.  This means that there are lots of crops such mango trees and artichokes in the vicinity. The great thing is that these activities never intrude on privacy,  but theres always something interesting going on to watch from the balcony.  Plus, the house is not surrounded by lots of other holiday villas, but stands on its own.  By the way, being high up on a hillside means the views are fantastic.

Second, the different balconies mean you can choose where you want to sit, eat or sunbathe according to how much sun or shade you want, whether you want a view or complete privacy etc.  The main balcony with the pool is an absolute suntrap, and we roasted ourselves at a regular 30degC with the occasional dip into the pool to cool off.  Bliss.

Owners Rob and Juliet were discreetly attentive, which is exactly what you want from a secluded villa holiday.

In summary, highly recommended.

Lovely spacious villa set in beautiful surroundings, perfect quiet getaway location with sun all day long great swimming pool and terraces.
Villa was very well equipped &amp; the welcome pack,especially the cold beer &amp; wine was appreciated!!
The owners Rob &amp; Juliet made us very welcome &amp; were on hand if required.
We would definitely recommend Casa Amapola &amp; will be returning.

This was an amazing holiday in a fantastic property! 
The rooms are much bigger than they look and it was a real home-from-home.  The two bedrooms were large, the main room having built in wardrobes.  The other rooms all had everything you could possibly need from your holiday.
The owners were friendly and approachable, without being intrusive and were always on hand and happy to help if we needed anything.
The property is close enough to 1 restaurant but with 2 children we had to drive to other places - however, it was so quiet and relaxing that we spent most evenings in the villa. The kids loved the pool where they could swim in the dark if they wanted and they were able to make lots of noised without worrying about the neighbours!  (Juliet and Rob were happy for them to be noisy which was lucky!)
A fantastic area, a fantastic property - as long as you want to get away from it all then I would 100% recommend going here.

We have just returned from 10 fantastic days at Casa Amapola. The villa is immaculate and very well equipped, and has plenty of outdoor space for eating and relaxing. The pool is lovely and was especially enjoyed by our two young daughters.

The villa is in a very quiet, very rural setting with absolutely stunning views. You are more likely to meet a herd of goats than another car once youve left the main road!

A big advantage for us when booking was the flexibility on dates - there are no strict Saturday to Saturday booking restrictions here, which enabled us to take advantage of cheaper mid-week flights and book for the 10-day duration we wanted.

We would thoroughly recommend Casa Amapola to anyone who wants a quiet holiday in a beautiful villa in a rural location.

"Loved this villa holiday and highly recommend it to others.  Juliet and Rob are fabulous hosts and nothing was too much trouble, always made sure we had everything we needed and we were enjoying our holiday.  This villa is very reasonably priced given the standard of accommodation.   Casa Amapola is so comfortable and has everything you need for a relaxing self catering holiday, or you can get active with cycling and walking the local area.  We hired a car from Malaga airport which meant we could visit the coastal resorts and head inland too to mountain villages.  Iznate is a good central location with lots to do in the surrounding area,  our personal favourites were Nerja and Torrox.  Waking up in the morning, having breakfast al fresco, having a barbecue lunch and sunbathing by the spotless pool overlooking the fantastic scenery was a real tonic for us both during our week stay, we were so sad to leave.  Would return in a heartbeat, if you book you won't be disappointed :-)  "


A little piece of heaven, the views are stunning the ambiance is chilled, this year was the third time ive stayed at this property and im in the process of booking again, my little boy didnt want to leave, Rob and Ju are such lovely and accomodating people, the villa has such a comfortable feel to it, cant wait to go back Thank you for such a memorable time !
