<p>PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE BOOKING THIS On arrival we were told that we are lucky and there is a surprise. Indeed there was a surprise. The house shown on the pictures was apparently overbooked and occupied and we got an "upgrade". The house they offered us was thin walled like a tin box, heating up like hell during the day. Everything except the linen and the towels was sticky and not clean. The couches had stains allover and the bathroom was full of hair and a dead cockroach. We had to clean before we touched things. The kitchen was well equipped and maybe the best part of the house, but the freezer smelled of fish. In front of the house there was a decent size pool filled with water but we never used it. Imagine why? Brownish at the bottom, rusty on the sides and lots of things floating around like a dead lizard. The house is surrounded by a wooden fence but it is kind of see-through and doesnt give you privacy. The area is really dirty with lots of things lying around lots of pigeons and dogs and definitely not the place where one would like to spend holidays. After complaining and asking for the house we booked we where told that by Spanish law they are allowed to offer us an "upgrade". They were sorry but due to overbooking the other house was occupied and we should be happy because it is worth almost double from what we booked. With no WiFi around we could not check our rights and had to take what was offered to us. A day later I found the house we booked and was shocked. We really got the better option. It was so rundown and dirty that I could only tell by the pond and the bridge over it that it was the one. No water in the pond but dirty like hell. It was occupied, yes, but by a guy lived there definitely for longer with 2 dogs, a motorbike and a bicycle. That means it was not overbooked like they told us. They intentionally tricked us!!! I know cockroaches can be found everywhere, even in the nicest clean houses, but I guess it wasnt coincidence that I had to kill 5 in 1 week. This was 50% of our honeymoon. Thanks god the second half was a real treat in a wonderful place, otherwise it would have been a full disaster. We stayed in Villa Victor for one week and could not have asked for anything more. The property was secluded giving us the privacy we wanted. It was spotlessly clean on our arrival and we were greeted by the owner who was on hand to answer any questions during our stay. The Villa was beautiful and the pool and barbeque area perfect. We would not change a thing, will definitely return and have already recommended it to friends. The Villa is only half an hour drive from the airport and is well directed and easy to find.

VILLA VICTOR, LA OLIVA

A well appointed villa in one of the nicest villages on the island.  This was our first stay in this villa but not the island and we will certainly return and have no hesitation in recommending it to friends.  The owners are very pleasant and available without being intrusive. Lovely and quiet, yet fantastic beaches close by.  This is the Canaries at its best.

VILLA HELENA, LA OLIVA

We agree with all of Judiths review from Nov 2011. We loved the villa. It was very comfortable, idea for a couple, and excellent value for money. Juan and Elena were very welcoming and able to sort out any problems quickly. The electricity is provided by a wind turbine, and as Fuerteventura means Big Wind, it was almost constantly spinning. They have recently installed a new wide-screen television but the only satellite channels in English were SKY News &amp; BBC News. We do like to watch Spanish TV on holiday, but couldnt pick up any Spanish channels, only mostly German. Juan will try to get the Satellite position moved.  We found the gas hob top Travel Toaster provided (made in the UK by the Weird Wire Co http://www.traveltoasters.com/index_files/Page410.htm) worked brilliantly. The only disconcerting thing about the villa was the open plan toilet in the bedroom. It was difficult to find at night, as there were black-out blinds, without putting on the light and disturbing partner. Juan is thinking about boxing it in and installing a fan which would make the villa absolutely perfect. The bidet was also very useful. The outside space was large and quite special with lovely native plants, and peaceful (except for the birds chirping). We loved La Oliva Village and it took ten minutes to walk (mostly on pavements) from the villa to the main street, where we had many meals in Mucho Gusto Pizzeria, and the food was excellent. Returned to the UK very chilled and cant wait to return. Thank you Juan and Elena

This villa is perfect for a couple looking for a romantic break. The villa is located in the quiet village of La Oliva and is ten minutes drive from the beautiful sea lagoons and secluded bays in the dunes of El Castillo.
The villa is generally well equipped but does not have an oven, toaster or kettle. There is a two ring gas hob, filter coffee maker and a microwave. I found these adequate for cooking with.  There is a fridge with freezer compartment. 
There is a large well stocked supermarket on the road into El Castillo (FV10) and a small supermarket in La Oliva itself. La Oliva also has a municipal leisure centre with swimming pool and outside childrens playpark. but we did not use this.

The villa has a pleasant garden with a shallow lagoon style pool - we found this good for lying in to cool down. Most of the garden is not overlooked. La Oliva is in the uplands and so is often cooler than the coast. I imagine that this is good on very hot days.

There is a single foldaway bed so this villa would also be suitable for couple with one child.

Huan and Elena, the owners, were helpful and available if needed but not intrusive.  

Driving on Fuerteventura is easy. The roads are new , well marked and not busy.  There also appears to be extensive new cyclepaths running parallel to the roads.

We found this villa to provide excellent value for money and would return again..

We had a wonderful stay in this property - it is very clean, comfortable and well kept. The owner met us on arrival, and was always on hand to answer any questions we had. A street map of the area, and written details of local visitors' attractions would be a useful addition to future stays. Thankyou for a great holiday!

We are just back from a weeks stay in this villa and would recommend it without hesitation to family and friends.  The villa owners are close by and very friendly and helpful.  I would without doubt go again.

We could not have asked for a more suitable place to stay for our holiday.  If you want to get away from it all then this is for you.  Lovely villa, small village, middle of nowhere but close enough for the beaches etc should you wish. We orderd the welcome pack which was excellent.  Highly recommended.
