Kalkan Villas Direct

The Townhouse is perfectly located in the old town, a couple of minutes walk downhill to bars, shops and restaurants, and five minutes to the town beach. There are good views over the bay from the roof terrace, great for pre-dinner drinks. The pool is a good enough size for a dip and short swims (no shallow end), with room for sunbeds in shade and sunshine. The area generally is very quiet apart from occasional noise from people walking into / back from town. The majority of neighbours are Turkish owners, some residents, some holidaying. Unfortunately during our stay, one large villa four or five houses along the road housed a party of ten 50-something brits who were very noisy from morning til midnight it put a dent in our stay, but overall we really enjoyed our week here. 

The bedrooms are comfortable and nicely decorated, with lots of storage and large en-suite shower rooms with plenty of hot water, but a bit cramped (beds taking up most of the floorspace). The living area is open plan, the kitchen has everything you need. Outdoor dining near the pool (or breakfast) is nice and shaded although again a bit cramped. The rooftop terrace has a large umbrella which offers shade for lunch or dinner, although its a long climb up! Local management was unobtrusive but helpful where needed. A bonus was having water on tap in the cooler provided. Only downside is that the local council has seen fit to move the local buses to the main bus station which is 15 mins walk uphill from the house, but thats not the Townhouses fault! And its easy to get from there to other areas along the coast, like Kas. We would definitely stay here again: the location offers a rare Kalkan treat of being able to get to almost all the local facilities quickly and easily - no hill-climbing after dinner, no need to get taxis.

Lovely property and a great location - close to town but with no or very little noise on a night.

The pool/sunbathing area is a little small and one has to wait for the sun to come around (usually midday/afternoon) before the proper sun worship can begin but there is the roof terrace of course which gets a lot of sun.

Great to have fast WiFi, TV and DVD player.

Property could do with a secure safe for passport and spare currency etc (sorry if it already has one - but we did not find it).

Management company were great - we had no hot water in the morning - all sorted with no fuss at all.

We did ask for a 12 noon checkout, which was agreed, but the cleaners arrived before 11am so we were stuck outside for 40 mins or so before leaving.

Villa Alarahan (Kalkan Townhouse) was perfectly situated for the town shops and restaurants.  Having been to Kalkan many times, this Villa was one of the best locations I have stayed in.  Although only a 2 minute walk from the centre of town, it was in a quiet residential area.  The pool was fabulous and an added bonus was that I could actually touch the floor in this one, which in Kalkan is a rarity!  One of the features of the Villa that most made an impression on us was the provision of a water cooler, it was wonderful especially as the weather was extremely hot whilst we were there. Another added bonus for the Villa, was the opening of a new supermarket just up the steps on the main road which caters for all your requirements.  This was a wonderful Villa and would certainly like to return in the future.

The Villa was very comfortable and had everything you could possibly need for a self catering holiday.  The pool was wonderful and very welcoming after a day out!  The location of the villa was also excellent and only a 5 minute walk to the beach and a couple of minutes into the centre of Kalkan.

A really minor comment is that we thought the area around the pool could be better looked after and could perhaps benefit from a little more attention from the pool man.

The second bedroom and shower room were smaller than we expected and it would have been good to have mosquito screens on the balcony doors as well as windows.
We appreciated the water cooler and the shady dining area on the ground floor.

The villa was in a fantastic location for the beach and the beautiful old town.  The property is furnished very tastefully.  Will definitely recommend to friends.  Only been back in England for a few days and thinking about booking it again for next year.

Alarahan is in an excellent location on the edge of the old quarter of Kalkan. Literally 2 minutes walk to the main streets and alleys where the shops and restaurants are. The street the house is situated on however is very quiet. The house is well laid out - very contemporary. Owner has provided good quality towels and house is very well equipped.  The quality of furnishings inside and out is very good. Also has the advantage of a great roof terrace with dining area, sofas and kitchen. It also has a lovely pool and marble patio area at the side.We went with our 2 teenage children and had a very good holiday here.

We spent 3 wonderful weeks at Alarahan. The house is gorgeous with a fantastic pool and roof terrace. The location means that the restaurants/bars/shops are only a short stroll away. Too many highlights to mention but  here are a few: breakfast on the roof terrace, a glass or two of wine watching the sun go down from the comfy sofas on the roof terrace, a swim in the pool after returning from a day sightseeing! Happy days indeed.

Lovely property in old part of village.  The facilities were excellent and recently refurbished to a high standard.  As it is fairly low down compared with other properties the views are limited (especially when the next door villa put up their blinds on the roof terrace) but this is a lovely property and you cannot have views and be in the centre of the village.  The owner and his agents were very  helpful.  We will hopefully return to this villa again and again.

my friends and I really enjoyed every minute in the villa Alarahan.Only one thing marred our stay.
Who allowed the monstocity of a building to be built next door,spoiling the view?.
are there no building regulations in Turkey?
The view from the roof must have been wonderful prior to its erection.
This would be my only reservation on returning to Kalkan.
However overall we enjoyed our stay and would like to thankeveryone involved,Lycian Coat Homeswere very helpful.
