We had a lovely time at Villa Diana this summer in June. The travel company gave us friendly transport from the airport. On arrival it was dark so couldn't make out where we were, but pulling up to the Villa our first impressions were the photos on this booking site do not do the place justice. It was stunning all lite up and the swimming pool was just so inviting we couldn't wait to dip our feet in.
We were meet at the villa by Desree and her daughter with lovely friendly smiles and they both made a fuss over my friends little girl. Desree showed us round and brought out the spare bed for Millie in case she wouldn't sleep up stairs.
The bedrooms were clean and the front bedroom over looks the pool. (The light above the balcony can be turned off by a switch behind the dressing table in front of the window). This bedroom also had its own bathroom with shower. The second bedroom was bigger and could take the spare bed, it over looked the mountains and local housing. All views were stunning especially the top floor room sun terrace, this was a great place to catch some sun if you don't mind the heat.
There are a number of local shops near to the Villa who are very friendly and helpful, this also deliver and can be contacted via Whats app if you want to order a take away too. We would advise that you put a deposit down on a water pump and the very large bottles of water as this will save you time and money in the long run.
The Villa has some lovely neighbours who are friendly, there are three local cats who like to sleep on the chairs on the terrace. These are very friendly when they get to know you but do try to get into the Villa if you leave the door open. We left a box of cat biscuits in the cupboard in the kitchen for the next visitors to feed them. There are a number of animals in the grounds of the small Turkish houses around and can be a little noisy at times from them.
The first day we tried to use the cooker but it blew the fuses which was connected to the fridge. Desree quickly got a man out to sort the cook out as i needed the fridge on for my medication. Just to note the fan does stay on for over 30 mins once turned off and does stay hot for quite a while unlike most English cookers. All con units finally worked by the end our holiday but the company did clean every filter grid when fixing the second bedroom unit.
The Swimming pool was lovely so good not having to get up at silly o'clock to get a sunbed, and you could stay in the pool for as long as you wanted without it being closed. The grounds of the villa has some lovely plants with beautiful flowers on them. The covered areas to the right of the pool as you look at the villa was well worth putting up, this had a table and chairs underneath which we used the most.
The walk to the shops took about 10 minutes and you can reach the beach front from many directions. The weather was amazing which helped us all enjoy some well deserved rest at the Villa.
The only thing I would now advise is when you check out if you have a late flight like we did try and book an extra night otherwise you would need to be out in time for them to clean. Desree was amazing and helped us get a room in a hotel on the beach front on our last day as our late check out changed as someone booked in straight after us.
We would love to return to Calis again in the future and would recommend staying at Villa Diana its location is perfect and a lovely little villa to create amazing memories in.
Peter the owner was very informative and answered questions even when we were at the Villa. Thank you Peter
