Beautifully restored trullo in peaceful area. Approx 10 mins drive to martina franca lovely town with good choice of restaurants. If you want a relaxing break in an authentic italian area then this is for you. Basic italian highly recommended when ordering food,etc. trullo owners very helpful and welcoming and nearby if help needed.

Cherry Tree Trullo is a gem of a holiday villa.  It is set in a beautiful, romantic and rural location. The trullo is rustic yet comfortable - it well-equipped - with a great range of films on DVD, and very tastefully decorated, and it is perfect for a family with two children.  The pool was larger than anticipated, and very necessary as it was very hot during the daytime. We loved Martina Franca and the surrounding area, and there is plenty to do and see.  Madeline and Jur were amazingly helpful - getting a Doctor to see our son who had an ear infection and rescuing us when we got lost!  They provided lovely touches like fresh herbs and their own olive oil, they also did a shop for us pre arrival, which was a great help as we arrived in the evening with two hungry boys.  We loved our week at the Cherry Tree Trullo and would highly recommend it.

This is a fabulous trulli in a beautiful setting. There is everything there that you could possibly need for a wonderful holiday. The property is well maintained and has all those extra touches not normally associated with a holiday rental home, the owners Madeleine and Jur make sure you have everything you need and are always on hand if required. The local towns are all within easy driving distance and have numerous fantastic restaurants, local markets and that lovely Italian feel. We would love to stay here again.

We enjoyed a fantastic two weeks at the Cherry Tree Trullo for our honeymoon. The property was peaceful, extremely well furnished and it was clear that every aspect of the guests comfort had been well thought about.

Madeleine and Jur were extremely helpful, giving us a warm welcome and were on hand should we require any advice.

The trullo came equipped with a good library of books and DVDs, perfect for relaxing in the evenings. The pool was well maintained throughout (if a little cold in October!) and the surroundings couldnt be more peaceful.

We wouldnt hesitate in recommending this property for anyone wishing to visit Puglia - thanks for a wonderful honeymoon!

Before our holiday at Villa Mimosa, we were reflecting that the holiday properties we had stayed in in the past had been nice, but always disappointed in some way. Villa Mimosa was the exception! Not only did it live up to everything we had hoped, but exceeded them comfortably. The house had everything we needed, and more, and everthing worked. The pool is large, smart and well-maintained. With the olive trees and grae vines, this is the Garden of Eden!

We visited the Cherry Tree Trullo in June 2008 and were delighted to find it was everything we expected and more.  The area is beautiful and unspoilt, and so you experience the "real" Italy.
The food was incredible, all local specialities were available close by in Martina Franca.  The Trullo is a stunning place to rest and relax - surrounded by countryside, other trullos and a variety of wild creatures.
The welcome we received from Mad and Jur was so warm and friendly, and they continued this throughout the stay, leaving fresh vegetables and herbs on our doorstep, and introducing us to some fabulous food,cafe-bars and restaurants.  Never intrusive, they clearly love the region and want their guests to come away with wonderful memories of Southern Italy.
Highly recommended to couples, small families and friends.

Situated in a very peaceful area, Cherry Tree Trullo has been beautifully restored and modernised. The property is well equipped and has a lovely pool and outdoor seating areas. The owners could not have been more helpful and made our stay that bit more pleasurable. Highly recommended.

The villa is a few miles from the town of Martina Franca. It's in an area with a number of villas but the very extensive grounds mean that their is no encroachment on privacy. In the grounds there are fruit trees with fruit for the picking - we enjoyed delicious figs - an abundance of tomatoes, other fresh veg and herbs.

The pool is a generous size - about 15m x 6m. It slopes down fairly sharply. Non-swimming children would need to be watched and kept near the shallow end where there are several curved steps. There is ample space for relaxing by the pool, with plenty of loungers. There are lilos available for the pool. The one extra we would have appreciated is some sort of wind-break, as there were quite strong winds on several days of our two-week stay. The pool was very well maintained by the owners, serviced every 2 days at about 7 a.m. Beach towels are provided.

The terrace immediately outside the house is extensive, with two tables and plenty of chairs. The larger table is under cover and has a light over it for use at night. You can sit and eat in or out of the sun.

There's a good barbecue and charcoal available. Should you need warming up, there's a more than ample logpile.

Secirity is excellent, with lockable gates on the drive entry and keys and padlocks for all doors. The parking space is good though given the amount of space available we would have preferred easier exit and entry round the bend from the drive and a wider pathway leading to the terrace. The entry and exit to and from the drive from the narrow road leading to the villa, and to the parking space, would be quite difficult for a larger car to negotiate.

The villa, which is lived in by the owners when it is not booked, is light and attractive, well-furnished and with excellent provision for home-cooking. An added bonus was the generous provision of wine and olive oil. Bedrooms are a good size, one with a bathroom in the trullo section, the other with shower and washbasin. There's good storage space. Windows have shutters and mosquito netting (though in our September visit we saw few mozzies and were not bothered by bites or stings).

There are good facilities for laundry in a separate room accessible from the terrace.

There's a very helfpul folder of local information, with maps and ristorante cards.

The owners, Madeleine and Jur Gipon, couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant. Before our visit we were sent a shopping list from which we could select what we'd like bought in for our arrival. We were met before we got to the trickier (last) part of the journey to the villa and when we arrived were given lots of helpful information about where to shop etc. When we asked where to get more charcoal, a new bag appeared the next day.

Another bonus was the opportunity to book ourselves in for a meal at a nearby house - Mimmo's - where Giovanna is willing to cook for local guests. On our first night we ate there, with about 10 of the family at another large table, and we had a sumptuous feast: about 10 different antipasta dishes; pasta; gratinated mussels; sea-bass; fresh fruit and slices of three delicious home-made cakes, made that morning. Plenty of wine and water! There was so much food we wondered when it would stop coming - but it was a memorable introduction to the area and a real privilege to join local people to eat. We returned for a second meal a week later.

We hired a car - essential - and once we'd mastered the route into Martina Franca, did most of our food shopping there (we cooked most nights as it was pleasant and relaxing not to drive out in the evening.) There are no shops in the immediate locality, so you need to ensure that you get in the essentials when you go to Martina Franca. Don't miss the excellent butcher (macelleria) to which Madeleine will give you directions. The meat is wonderful - and it includes meat prepared for a BBQ.

From the villa we made a number of trips to towns and places of interest, alternating with days relaxing by the pool. We had no problems with finding our way about, apart from coping with the occasionally bizarre road signs - or lack of them!

We have no hesitation in recommending Villa Mimosa. All our needs were met and the owners were always accessible by telephone to answer any query we might have.

Go there and enjoy it!

Stayed in both properties over the two weeks, each having a character of its own. The Mimosa is the larger, more comfortable, home from home villa with everything you might need to enjoy your holiday. Whilst a little smaller, the Cherry Tree has a character and ambiance that is very special. Both properties are located in rural areas approximaely 10 mins from Martina, however, the Cherry Tree feels as though it is in a more rural and picturesue position.

Both properties were very well equiped with the things you always hope to find but rarely do. E.g. basic cooking ingredients, CDs, DVDs, books, beach towels, air beds, balls etc.

Madelaine and Jur were excellent hosts that were very keen to make sure our stay was enjoyable and were very responsive to our needs.

The red wine in the fridge was appreciated and enjoyed.
