We had a wonderful, relaxing family holiday. Barn had a proper Italian rustic feel, just how we imagined it. No frills but everything you need. Swimming pool is fantastic. We spent many fun hours everyday all on our own. What more could you ask for. There is a local restaurant in walking distance and a shop to get you supplies and very cheap wine. Though the shop is up hill so not so nice in the heat. You do need a car as there are many hill/ mountains everywhere and no public transport. Local town is a 15 minutes drive away and has some lovely restaurants . Owner is so helpful and will help out with best places to visit and see and also took us to one of the many local markets. Only negative was the mosquitos, make sure you take plenty of repellent.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Capanna, really good location for exploring Tuscany especially if you have a car. We visited a wide range of locations from the larger cities to smaller villages and towns including Pisa, Florence, Arezzo, Siena, San Gimignano, Poppi, Stia, and Panzano. Joanna was very helpful and a mine of local knowledge and information. We loved the pool and overall had a brilliant holiday would definitely recommend.

We were warmly welcomed by Joanna, who had very kindly done a shop for us and bought us fresh milk, bread, butter, cheese, gnocchi, pasta, marmalade, cereal, yogurts, so we didn't need to go rushing off shopping. The cottage had olive oil, condiments, tea and coffee which was also really useful. The double bed we slept in was very comfortable and the fold out single beds were enjoyed by our sons. The owner was incredibly helpful at telling us about places worth visiting, walks we could do, recommendations about places to eat at. The fact that she is English speaking, really helped with communication. Her dogs (all 6 of them), were gorgeous and we loved them coming in to visit our holiday home for a stroke and cuddle. The cottage had all the facilities one would need, washing machine, bath, shower, a portable air conditioning device. We all had a comfortable stay. my family had exclusive use of the pool and sunbeds. We were invited to help ourselves to any of the fruit growing on the trees in the garden or herbs. All in all, the cottage is in a great position. Good for trips out to Florence, Siena and Pisa. It is only a 10 - 15 minute walk to a fabulous pizzeria, bakery, little supermarket. We enjoyed lovely walks in beautiful woodland, a short drive from the property. I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay if you like peace and quiet, but like to be close to some shops. Thank you for a memorable stay.

Thank you Helen, and it was lovely meeting you and having you to stay! ideal guests!!!

We had a great time in Tuscany, and Joanna helped to make our stay memorable. Nothing was too much trouble and to be invited to dinner on arrival was a lovely touch. The location is a little way out of town but is easily accessible and has enough shops and pizzerias locally. Overall an area that is very welcoming and the hospitality shown will encourage us to return in the not too distant future.

Yes! do come back!!!!

We've just spent 5 AMAZING weeks here and it felt completely like home! The house was superb for what we needed (me + 4 young kids). Joanna the owner was WONDERFUL - just the kindest person who was always around to give help or advice, nothing was too much bother ever! The pool was DIVINE and we spent many happy hours splashing around. The kids adored the animals and exploring the orchard for unusual fruit - many hours of entertainment. The villa is perfectly located to explore Tuscany and we ventured as far as Pisa, Rome, Siena, Montepulciano and the Chianti countryside. 5 very happy blissful weeks - we are just sad it had to end but WE WILL BE BACK ;)!
