This was the best holiday choice we have ever made. The Villa was designed and built by the owner and his partner approximately 25 years ago. It is a large and totally unique architectural design with a massive central living room. The living room includes a glass enclosed water feature. Small steps lead to a curved conservatory which picks up the warmth of the sun. The conservatory has a long curved glass wall overlooking the exotic garden and pond and includes an electric organ. There are four bedrooms each with its own large bathroom and plenty of outdoor areas to sit. The enclosed swimming pool is very clean, exhilarating and quite deep for swimming. The kitchen is very well equipped with a vast range of equipment and lots of space. The villa is furnished with an array of antique furniture, tapestries, paintings, swiss clocks, rugs and antique items collected by the owners over the years and spotlessly clean. It is very spacious and eye catching. About 30 mins drive from Lisboa and close to some excellent beaches albeit with Atlantic surf. The surrounding area is heavily wooded and very beautiful. The villa is located in a small village with a couple of bars and restaurants. Giampiero, the owner, is charming. He lives on site but stayed out of the way except when help was needed. It is rare to experience such a close connection with the owners who built and clearly loved their unique villa and we all felt very privileged to stay here.

Villa as advertised, really spacious and very comfortable. Owner was very friendly, informative and helpful and non-intrusive. Would definitely recommend this villa to a large group. The village was quite but with many restaurants within a 3 minute walk. Local transport was excellent with bus stop just outside the villa. Regular service at a good price.

Amazing house, lovely area. Rugged coastline and small sandy beaches. Walks through scenic national park. Worth remembering that it is the Atlantic and like Lands End (UK) can be windy. Some of the beaches do not have life guards. Village has great restaurants and a slightly unreliable bus service. You will need a car for any shopping

Wow what an amazing find. This villa is wonderful. The location is excellent for seeing the beautiful coast, the city of Lisbon and towns such as Sintra. If going into Lisbon for the day would recommend getting the train from Portela de Sintra. Easy incredibly cheap parking at the station (1.5 euros) and a cheap all day travel ticket (10 euros) into Lisbon which also covers all trams, buses and metro, excellent value! The villa itself is fantastic, three of the bedrooms bedrooms are huge! and the fourth is a normal double size - all are ensuite. Gianpiero is a wonderful host, around if you need help or advice, but only when you need him. There are so many areas to chill and sun bathe that we as a party of 6, frequently lost each other, which at times was very nice !! If you had young children it would be a wonderful place to play hide and seek!!!!! The pool is brilliant - used it loads. It is completely secure so again if you have small children you can ensure they can't access it independently, as it is about 1.7 to 2 meters deep with no shallow end - which was wonderful for us as the youngest in our party were 22 so almost sensible!! Gianpiero has thought of everything, from the welcome pack - which was great to little things like loo rolls, dishwasher tablets and washing machine tablets - the sort of thing that is a hassle to bring with you and a waste of time and money to buy. Regarding the village - it has few amenities but it does have 3 restaurants all of which are very good and a few bars which are also excellent. There is a frequent bus service which goes up and down the coast, into most villages and Sintra, but a car is useful especially for big grocery trips. Would I recommend this villa - absolutely!!!!!!!!!! Would I re-book if coming to Portugal again - in a heart beat, as would all in our party. We will all remember this holiday, Gianpiero and our wonderful villa very fondly.

We stayed for a second year at Casa Buglione, bringing along more family members to enjoy a quiet summer retreat. The house is set in a quiet village quite high above the sea so you get a good sea view. Stunning interiors with large sheltered pool area and conservatory. We loved the courtyard with its soothing water feature. Although there were nine of us, there was plenty of space for us all to relax and unwind in. Gianpierro was as always, very welcoming and on hand to deal with any problems arising. The village has a particularly lovely restaurant - Casa Nicola - which serves lovely fresh fish. There is a regular bus service to Cascais and Sintra which we used. Also possible to order groceries online from Continente supermarket (with a bit of patience). All in all another lovely holiday at Casa Buglione.

Der Urlaub war dank dieser empfehlenswerten Unterkunft ein voller Erfolg. Der Vermieter ist sehr angenehm, hilfsbereit und fürsorglich. Das Haus ist grossräumig, wunderschön eingerichtet und es fehlte an nichts in der Küche. Der Pool ist gross und perfekt an das Haus angebunden. Jedes Schlafzimmer verfügt über ein eigenes Bad. Auch mit mehreren Leuten findet sich immer ein ruhiger Platz zum Entspannen. Nach heissen Tagen am Strand kann man in dem höher gelegenen Haus gut abkühlen und perfekt schlafen. The owner is very pleasant , helpful and caring . The house is spacious , beautifully decorated and nothing was missing in the kitchen . The pool is large and perfectly connected to the house . Each bedroom has a private bathroom . Also several people can always find a quiet place to relax . After a hot day on the beach , you can cool down in the higher house and sleep perfectly . Gian-Piero could not have been more attentive or helpful, and provided a great welcome pack. The villa was gorgeous and the pool fabulous. We went as a party of eight, three generations, including a 9 month baby. The space we had was fantastic: A beautiful conservatory from where we could view magnificent sunsets; A lovely pool, situated in an enclosed area, with it's own shower room; Four wonderfully spacious bedrooms, all en suite; A large, brilliantly equipped kitchen and three dining tables, each large enough for the whole family to gather around. Fantastic. With regard to the location, a car is fairly essential as there is no shop within walking distance. But it is, nevertheless, beautiful, with lots of amazing places to visit only short drives away. My first visit to Portugal and what an introduction!

Many ,many thanks to Gianpiero during our visit in the Villa. His hospitaly and assists make our visit valuable and easy to be there.. The only lack was that the services in the village were quite poor. If you want a peacefull Holiday, this is a ideal Place, also for a big group (we were 8).

Maison où il fait bon vivre. Très fonctionnelle avec beaucoup d'espace. Le propriétaire est charmant et le panier de bienvenue est vraiment très utile! Les chambres et les salles de bain sont très spacieuses ; la piscine et la véranda sont parfaites. C'est vraiment une magnifique maison, si ce n'était le temps qui fut maussade, tout a été parfait! nous avons passé 2 semaines dans cette charmante villa avec 1 autre couple d'amis. En tout, 8 personnes, 4 adultes et 4 enfants. L'accueil réservé par le propriétaire en français est très chaleureux, et il se montre discret, mais très disponible pendant le séjour. La villa est très vaste, et même avec un groupe de 8 personnes, nous avons eu largement de la place pour ne pas être les uns sur les autres. La maison est propre et fonctionnelle avec beaucoup d'équipement de cuisine. La villa est située dans une région assez ventée, ce qui ne favorise pas les repas à l'extérieur. Cependant le tout reste très agréable et d'un bon rapport qualité prix. we spent 2 weeks in this charming villa with one other couple friends . In all, 8 people, 4 adults and 4 children. The reception by the French owner is very warm, and it shows discreet, but very available during the stay. The villa is very large , and even with a group of 8 people , we had plenty of room for not being on top of each other . The house is clean and functional with plenty of cooking equipment. The villa is located in a rather windy area, which is not conducive to outdoor dining . However everything is very nice and good value for money .
