Hielko

We stayed at the chateau for a week during the Euro 2016 football tournament, travelling around France between games but basing ourselves here. Hetty &amp; Hielko were fantastic hosts and their communication was first class from start to finish. The weather during the week was pretty poor so we didn't get to make the most of the pool and other facilities. The chateau is lush, large bedrooms and a huge dining area and lounge make it a nice place to relax. 

The local areas are pretty if best described as functional. For a relaxing holiday in a wonderful location, you can't go wrong here. Thanks guys :)

We had the pleasure of having our wedding at Chateau De Sadilac hosted by the lovely owners, Hetty &amp; Hielko. Throughout the months of planning nothing was too much to ask of them, they were consistently So helpful and responsive - They helped put us in touch with many local people from caterers to photographers. The chateau is so charming, well thought out and equipped. Great location for Bergerac airport too plus local to a few little towns and big supermarkets too for practicality. It was the most beautiful setting for our wedding day and our family loved the week we spent there also. Amazing.

A most beautiful chateau in a quiet location with so much to do! The Chateau is lovely and lovingly maintained by Hetty and Hielko. Great accommodation, fantastic pool, pitch &amp; putt golf course, sauna etc and very close to Bergerac and things to do in the Dordogne. The pizza oven was also a great hit with the budding chefs in our family. Hetty and Hielko are close by if you need them. A great place for a relaxing holiday.

We were a group of 8 staying at this property for one week during the middle of August and after spending months looking at pictures of the chateau on line, we were blown away on arrival at the sheer size and absolute charm of building. It has a beautiful sense of history, is truly unique, and unlike anything we had stayed in before. We were warmly greeted by Hetty and Hielko who showed us around, and told us about the facilities available.
There is plenty of room for a large group to feel like you have your own space. The games room was great for the boys and as for the golf, we could not get them off the course (bring plenty of golf balls!!!!) The pool was lovely, really big and did not feel at all crowded, even when were were all in it at the same time.
We chose to eat out for most evenings and restaurants can be found within a 10-20 minute drive. Breakfast was at the courtesy of the local bakery just a couple of minutes away by car, this is an absolute must...... The bread and croissants are unlike anything we have in the UK!!!!!!!!! If you want to eat in, there is a lovely outside seating area for eating, the kitchen is well equipped and there are a variety of supermarkets in the local area.
All in all, we had a fantastic stay and could have easily spent longer here than we did. Such a wonderful spacious property in surroundings which are peaceful and beautiful. If you do manage to tear yourself away from the facilities, there is plenty to see and do if you venture out. Something for everyone here, we would happily return and hope to very soon.

We discovered that the chateau is well situated, close to Bergerac airport (a great tiny airport about 15 mins away.. saves flying to Bordeaux) and discreetly positioned in a small pleasant village with plenty of parking available and lovely grounds.

As a party of 12, the accommodation proved ideal for us with plenty of room and several bathrooms.

A great feeling of space all around and a lot of genuine charm and comfort.

Owners were friendly and very helpful greeting the party warmly .. available on the end of a phone if required.

Various separate garden areas were appreciated to shelter from the midday sun and the pool/leisure area became a firm favourite.

No time to get bored with the top selection of outdoor games available to choose from and the large welcoming terrace, overlooking the golf course, turned out to be the central meeting point.

The golf proved very popular and also the peaceful long walks/jogging straight out of the gate, with the sunflower fields in full bloom.

Worked well for ages 5-70.
The less than energetic teenagers and more energetic parents had space to both do their own things as well as come together as a group.

Outdoor pizza oven is a must.. a hilarious initiating for the inept!
Boules, outdoor garden chess, table tennis, pool...
All in all, an exceptional family holiday.

Our party of 9 people aged between 20 and 78 had a great time, we swam, fished, played pool a golf and generally chilled out. The property has a certain mystery that makes it feel special, because of its age it was never going to be perfect but that wasn't a problem in any way.
Would recommend the Chateau to anyone that wants a holiday with a difference, especially if you like a game of family friendly golf! Not far from Bergerac and Eymet, which both have a choice of great restaurants, we took the hour trip to Domme and Sarlat which are a must if you like picturesque old towns.
Hosts were great, there if needed but not obtrusive, we had a lot of fun.

I have just returned home after spending a wonderful week with my family at Chateau de Sadilac.
The entire holiday was so relaxing with wonderful facilities - the private swimming pool area with sauna, shower, WC was amazing.
We enjoyed spending time having fun with the children inside and outside the Chateau it was very safe and secure - during our stay we had scorching hot sunny days but the ambient temperature inside the chateau was ideal to cope with the hottest of weather combined with the wonderful outdoor swimming pool we had a great stay.
Each evening we had dinner on the covered and beautifully lit terrace using either the pizza bread oven or BBQ.
The hosts Hetty and Hielko were very helpful and friendly, they gave us complete privacy only meeting us on arrival and departure but remained available throughout our stay if needed.

I would recommend this wonderful Chateau with its luxury accommodation and unique golf course facilities to all families as it was such great vale and fun - I am happy to give Chateau de Sadilac my 5 star rating.
