We booked Papillon at short notice and were delighted with it. Its situation is excellent - just outside a pretty village with a very good-value cafe/restaurant, and a walk/short drive from Verteillac, which has everything you are likely to need. The charm of the area is that major tourist attractions are accessible, if you want them, but Perigord Vert itself is quiet and delightfully rural. We spent much of our time walking through pretty villages and beautiful countryside.
The house is comfortable and well-equipped. No TV, which for us was probably a positive, and we brought our own iPod dock. For two people it was more than spacious enough, but for four it would also be fine.
The house is surrounded by garden, with a sunflower field adjoining, and eating out on the terrace was a pleasure. Recommended - wed come again.

La Grange de Maudure was an enchanting country gite with a terrific view of the local village and it's roman church.  The silence was astounding and we found ourselves enjoying the true French countryside experience.  The area in and around the gite is filled with beautiful scenery and wonderful towns.  We especially enjoyed the market day in Riberac.  Renting a car is a must, but we were able to drive throughout the area with ease.  The gite is quite comfortable for two people, a couple, or a small family.

Comfortable and well positioned farmhouse with shops and pool just down the road &#040;Ms Crang&#041; Had a great time &#045; relaxing, great views and superb area for dining and wining with lots of good value restaurants closeby. Recommend St Emilion for a day out as well as Perigueux and Brantome. &#040;Carole Kitson&#041;

La Grange de Maudure

Ideal to travel around and see the sights but at the same time have a relaxing holiday Mrs P, Canada We come here every year and find the house ideal for a great holiday at a reasonable price. The facilities are good and the area is quiet. Miss C, Yeovil

This property offers excellent value and is well situated with the bar/restaurant in the village just down the hill and a selection of restaurants and shops in the town 2km distance.  Although no pool on site the town has a brand new pool and is very reasonable.  We also enjoy days out by visiting the numerous river beaches.
