Villa overview - owner's description

Thoughtfully designed 3-bedroom villa with lovely garden and pool.

Spacious, charming and private 3-bedroom villa with lovely garden and large pool. Tastefully designed by renowned architect Charles Boccara, the villa has a beautiful exterior courtyard and dining area.

The villa is situated in a secure development (Les Jardins de Touhina) with 24-hour security, only 25 minutes from the centre of Marrakech. The development has 37 villas with Clubhouse and Spa and mature communal gardens and walkways. Unusual for Marrakech, the villa offers complete privacy and is not overlooked.

The villa has 3 spacious ensuite bedrooms (two large and one slightly smaller), living and dining room and well-equipped kitchen, with hob, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, Nespresso coffee machine and other appliances. All rooms have air conditioning. There is also satellite TV and free internet access.

The garden has a medium-sized lawn area, mature plants and fruit trees. There is a large pool.

The villa is staffed with a maid (Touria) and a daily cleaning service is part of the package. Touria is also an excellent chef and produces wonderful Moroccan food. If you would like meals prepared for you notice the day before is preferred, although we do keep a store of ingredients for last minute requests. A 2 course lunch costs Pd. Stlg. 11 and 3 course dinner Pd. Stlg. 15 per person. Meals for children under 12 are half price. Touria will prepare breakfast at no charge on the first day of your stay. Thereafter you can either have Touria purchase and prepare breakfast at a cost of Pd. Stlg. 4 per person or you can prepare your own. A well stocked honesty bar is operated for beverages, which are very reasonably priced.

We can organise taxis to/from Marrakech. The cost of a taxi from the airport is MAD 250 (EUR 23). The cost of a taxi into town is approximately EUR 20 each way. We will provide you with a local mobile phone with useful numbers (i.e. taxi, local doctor, villa staff, etc). The number can be made available for your family upon confirmation of your booking.

Booking a villa is always a risk. Are those pictures of a luxurious, gleaming pad anywhere close to reality? With 46 Jardins de Touhina, the answer is no. The reality is infinitely more impressive and the beautiful photos on the website simply do not do the place justice. We had high expectations, and they were surpassed in the first half hour of arrival – first impressions were breathtaking and we felt immediately relaxed and at home. We were only two, but the villa is more than adequately sized to accommodate six in comfort. There are enough independent living areas to ensure there would always be a quiet place to hide away.

The villa lies in a beautifully maintained complex at the end of a 3km gravel track (when hiring a car, choose one with good ground clearance). The villa itself was beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and the kitchen filled with all the gadgets needed for a week long stay (including a very welcome Nespresso machine). The wonderful Touria cooked for us on a couple of evenings, and taught us her authentic Moroccan recipes for tagine and (amazing) pastilla. Beds were dreamily large and comfortable and with beautiful bedlinen. Due to the architecture and use of local materials, the only time we needed to use the air con was at night in the bedroom – for the rest of the day the villa was ventilated with nothing more than a whole heap of open doors, even though we stayed in August with temperatures topping 37 degrees! With only the occasional sound from other villas in the complex, we were totally at peace for the whole week.

The gardens and pool were just beautiful . Oh my, the pool. The cool water was blissful on hot days (and even hot evenings!) and we spent a lot of time splashing around. It might be a bit chilly in the colder months but was perfect in August! Charkie and Touria tended to the pool and gardens each day and one of the highlights of the stay was reading in the back courtyard, with the fountain tinkling, and watching the swallows playing in the garden.

We hired a car for the week, which I would recommend to give you the freedom to come and go as you please. The drive into central Marrakech was simple, and getting to and from attractions in the new town was a piece of cake. There is a large Carrefour just 20 minutes away selling everything you could need including beer and wine (they do an excellent vin gris called La Perle Grise which we can highly recommend!). For an evening trip into the more hectic medina, Touria kindly arranged for a local driver to collect us and look after us for the evening, for which we were very grateful. We also drove up to the Atlas mountains to go to a saint’s day festival at the town of Setti Fatma – a couple of hours of mostly beautiful views and finished off with a lovely lunch by the river surrounded by lots of local families.

Diane, who owns the villa, was great before we arrived, sending us all the information we needed to prepare our trip, and in contact during our stay to make sure that we were happy (we were!).

To summarise, this place is a little piece of heaven. I’d recommend it to anyone – couples, families, friends. Just remember to leave a week free for our return trip!

Absolutely gorgeous :) The pictures on Trip Advisor don't do it justice at all! Everything about this villa is simply lovely; the decor, the amenities and the space. We were a family of 4, two children aged 1 and 5...This villa had it all, the pool and garden ( beautiful flowers and trees, not to mention the fresh limes...which were delicious in salad and drinks!); which also had a locking gate that would keep the little one safe away from the pool when you weren't next to it. Even though the pool isn't heated once you're in its not that cold!!! The sun's on the garden and pool all day which is a fabulous way to spend your day and then off in to Marrakech in the evenings. The actual villa it's self was much better than what I was expecting...its big and spacious and had many places where you can just feel as though you're somewhere else. The kitchen has everything that you need...A home away from home :) The satellite TV was fab, it had all the channels that you have in the UK, which was great distraction for the kids when the pool was getting cleaned or when it was just a little too hot in the midday sun. We hired a car, which I'm glad we did, because the villa is about 25-30mins from the medina and then about another 5- 10mins off the main road!!! Another reason to hire would be if you're planning to go out everyday, which we were, it would get quite expensive with taxis etc. Driving is a bit crazy as you've got to look out for over taking cars, bikes on either side and wandering pedestrians!!! The sat navigation can take you down some dangerous alleyways too so be warned!!! The villa staff, Touria and her husband were really lovely. They gave us some great ideas of places to go and breakfast was lovely... The best thing about this Villa is that it's private and not over looking and that's exactly what we were after... Diane, who you book with, was great. She answered all my questions and kept in touch every step of the way..she seems like a rally lovely lady. Definitely worth booking :)

We have experienced this kind of holiday and we don't regret the option we took. We were a group of four adults and two kids who occupied the entire villa . Everything about the place is impeccable with only inconvenient that is not so close from crowded Marrakech. An polite driver waited for us on arrival with a minivan and he was on time every time we needed to go around for a reasonable price. Touria and her husband are so polite and nice people coming every morning for cleaning the house. Everything was perfect!!! We highly recommended!

From the moment we stepped in through the front door we were in heaven. We were greeted by the beautiful Touria and her wonderful family. I can honestly say that I have never stayed in somewhere so incredible. The decor, art, gardens, pool and, more importantly, the feel of this place is magical. During our stay we just wandered around soaking up every detail of this stunning home. Touria cooked us most of our meals and they were better than any restaurant we tried. This lady is outstanding. Nothing was a problem. The owner was fantastic. I asked her so many questions before we went and she always replied instantly and is super lovely. All I can say is "book this beautiful oasis". If you are looking for magic in the world you will find it as soon as you walk through the door. Thank you

We had the most fantastic time in this peaceful, charming and beautiful villa. Everything was immaculate, the bedrooms were spacious and there was lovely Moroccan furniture and decoration throughout the house. Touria, the maid, was delightful and her little boy was gorgeous. The food prepared by Touria on our arrival was delicious so we would definitely recommend that. There is everything that you would need available, including recommendations of good places to go and eat in Marrakech. It was perfect and I will recommend it to everyone I know who plans a trip to Marrakech. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in such a wonderful home.

Everything about this villa was fantastic! I was especially thankful for touria the villa maid and cook, as with having kids it was nice not to go out every night and have somebody to cook instead. She was amazing, very lovely lady and the kids especially liked her around. The food she cooked was some serious chef work and we were always impressed. Having the drinks and essentials upon arrival and the whole time through was also very useful. Restaurants were only 25 minutes away from the villa and was easy to get to with the cab service available which was also a very reasonable price. The owner left a list of number of restaurants to advise us on which we only wished we had checked out sooner. Over all everything was well planned and organised and the villa was gorgeous. My favourite were the framed photos that decorated the house beautifully. Honestly would recommend this villa to anybody going to Marrakech, only wish we could have stayed longer. Possibly one of our best villa holidays! Everything was thoughtfully planned out and nothing was missed. Once again thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home!

"Perfect, comfortable and private" The property was absolutely perfect for our needs the privacy was just what I was looking for and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The pool was perfect too and we enjoyed being able to just jump in whenever we wanted to. Minor issue regarding TV and Internet was quickly resolved by Charkie who came over to reset and resolve the problem. I would certainly recommend this lovely villa to anyone that wishes to visit Marrakech.

"Perfect place" Les Jardins de Touhina is a perfect place to spend vacations in Marrakech.Close but enough far to the hot and noisy center, you will appreciate to relax in the pool when the sun hits hard. The luxuria… more

Review #8545347 "Peaceful" The villa is immaculately clean and very comfortable and extremely well stocked. My husband and I stayed for one week and we couldnt have asked for anything more. The area is very very quiet, we sat in the garden by the pool most days and read our books. There was very little noise. So peaceful. Touria, the housekeeper, came in every morning and cooked us lovely breakfasts. She also cooked a couple of evening meals which were delicious. In the evenings we went into Marrakech via the recommended driver. One phone call and the driver was there on time. Touria usually rang for us as our French is very limited. The villa, is very large and would easily suit a party of 6. The gardens are immaculate and the pool area is very relaxing. Lots of shade if you need to get out of the Moroccan heat. I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. The only slight negative is the 30minute drive into Marrakech, but to be honest, watching the sights and locals from the car is quite fascinating. I wouldnt hesitate to stay here again when we next holiday in Marrakech.

"Luxurious oasis" This villa is extremely spacious and comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay here. It is in a very peaceful location which is a real haven from the frenetic pace of the Medina. It offers the best of both worlds as it only 20 minutes by taxi to the centre of Marrakech. The added bonus (and what made it a real holiday for me!) was Tourias great cooking. A large breakfast was prepared every morning and she would then prepare lunch and/or dinner as we required. We could easily have stayed another week! Highly recommend.

Zoe N. Stylish, peaceful luxury. Submitted: Feb 11, 2014 Stayed: Dec 2013 We spent New Year here with extended family - 3 adults and 3 children (4-8 years). The villa is beautiful with ample space for 6 people. Designed by a highly regarded Moroccan architect, Charles Boccara, the villa is stunning - two peaceful courtyards with fountains and dining areas, lovely private gardens including a cacti garden leading off the master bathroom through French windows. Throughout there are Moroccan design touches such as rugs, wedding blankets and floor cushions and features such as traditional tadelakt plasterwork and vaulted ceilings. There is a large well equipped kitchen, perfect for self catering, although if you dont want to cook the villa has a maid who you can arrange with in advance to cook meals - she is a great cook and made some delicious meals for us - her breakfasts were also stunning. The two main bedrooms are large and flooded with light during the day with views onto the garden. A third bedroom is the other side of the rear courtyard - older children would love this as it is separate to the main villa. All bedrooms have good ensuite bathroom facilities - two have showers and one has a large bath. Theres an open fire for chilly winter evenings. The villa is great for children - safe garden, British TV channels, a private swimming pool with vaulted buildings either end - in the summer one would give ideal shelter for children playing in the shallow part of the pool and the other is a bar area - great for pool parties! In the winter months you will need wetsuits as it is chilly. The villa isnt overlooked - its very private and part of the Jardins de Touhina complex. There is another large shared pool at the complexs Clubhouse and a spa - the hammam is highly recommended - but its a shame there isnt a restaurant or a shop for food supplies (the nearest supermarket is accessible by car/taxi). The complex was very quiet when we were there. The villas location is remote - its about 20 minutes outside of Marrakech by car or minibus and would be hard to find first time in a hire car (we used the private taxi company for an airport pick up). The complex have a minibus service into town several times a day - you do have to pay for the return journey but we found it really useful for coming back early evening from Jemma El Fna square after a bit of shopping and a meal and saves you phoning for a taxi or waiting ages to flag one down. A perfect location for get-away-from-it-all luxury in the sun.
