Villa to rent in Jamaica
Villa overview - owner's description
Nine miles west of Montego Bay is a very private hill overlooking perhaps the most glorious view of sea and sky on Jamaica's renowned north coast.
Nine miles west of Montego Bay is a very private hill overlooking perhaps the most glorious view of sea and sky on Jamaica's renowned north coast. Elegantly perched on seven acres atop this hill is Bambu, a grand seven-bedroom private villa distinguished by its classic architecture and appreciated by discerning vacationers.
Bambu was designed by architect Robert Hartley in the early 1960's as a unique melding of West Indies architecture and Italian Venetian style. Its Palladian arches, dramatic central pool, Italian sculptures and breathtaking view make it one of the most photographed homes in this collection. In 1974, images of Bambu appeared in Aaron's A Wonderful Time: An Intimate Portrait of the Good Life.
Multi-million dollar renovations of interiors and grounds have resulted in an impressive facelift of this elegant grand dame. Wireless Internet, Apple television, new marble bathrooms and a state-of-the-art kitchen complement lovely new interiors. Today its modern comforts and infrastructure mesh with Bambu's original Euro charm and glamour.
As designer Charles Faudree wrote when it was featured on the cover of Veranda magazine, Bambu is the “….blending Old World elegance with New World comforts.” Its newest favorite folly is an outdoor garden bathroom, complete with shower, bathtub and lush landscaping.
Master Bedroom: 500 sq ft + 130 sq ft Dressing Room and Office: High kingsize four-poster bed. Two separate Travertine marble his 'n' hers bathrooms feature double showerheads in each. From the bedroom, French doors open to a 26' covered verandah with a breathtaking view of the sea and the distant town of Montego Bay. The Master Suite is quite private from the rest of the villa. Both showers are handicap accessible.
Bedroom 2: High kingsize bed. Travertine marble en-suite bathroom with double sinks and spacious walk-in shower. French doors open directly onto south poolside terrace. Bedroom 2 can be considered the second Master.
Bedroom 3 Children's Room: Two pairs of bunk beds, pink and white and very cute. The single door can remain bolted and locked to prevent unsupervised access to the pool terrace. A pass-through in the children's bathroom leads to Bedroom 4 next door, creating a connecting parent-child suite.
Bedroom 4: Kingsize bed. En-suite Travertine marble bathroom connects to Children's Bedroom 3.
Bedrooms 5 and 6: Two full/double beds in each. En-suite bathrooms are Travertine marble and have spacious walk-in shower.
Bedroom 7 The Hideaway: Queen bed and small bathroom in private hideaway tucked into the loower hillside and overlooking a gorgeous prospect of the blue sea and the distant town of Montego Bay and its romantic nighttime twinkling lights. This room's special folly is its outdoor stone shower and bathtub under an ackee tree.

Montego Bay is Jamaica's tourism capital and arguably one of the Carribean's premier resort destinations. It is the island's second city in terms of size and importance and has long been a playground for the world's rich and famous. It is easily accessible, the city boasts a first class international airport, as well as a port used by many interntaional cruise lines.
Montego Bay is home to some of the most colourful and exquisite Villa's in the Carribean, which are complemented by an abundance of transport facilities and an unparralleled array of amenities and attractions, all of which contribute to Montego Bay's vibrant holiday culture. This city has a lively Carribean charm and each vacationer can embrace their own uniquely Jamaican experience.
The City's streets are colourful and lively, with craft market stalls, shops and banks. You can visit the renowned white-sand Doctor's Cave Beach which has attracted celebrities and socialites from all over the world. Legend tells that the beach is fed by healing mineral springs, whether or not the legend is true, the beach certainly holds the most uncommonly clear and sparkling waters.
As well as the Doctor's Cave, Montego Bay has many unique tourist attractions. Why not try one of the Undersea Tours? The Coral Sea has the appearance of a submarine but in reality is a boat with an air conditioned underwater viewing compartment, to sit and watch the wonders of Montego Bay's marine life park; coral, hundreds of tropical fish, turtles and sting rays.
As well as dazzling waters, Montego bay also offers history, culture and wildlife. The Rocklands Feeding station is a must for bird lovers, located only minutes from Montego Bay. The Belvedere estate also draws in tourists from every area, one of the first sugar cane plantations in Jamaica and is still a working estate. It's owner, Mr. Pat McGann has opened it to the public so that the estate may share it's natural beauty, rivers, waterfalls, ruins and exotic plants with tourists and the public.
For sport lovers, Montego Bay is home to 4 different golf courses, including the world famous Tryall Golf Club which sits in a stunning 2,200 acre estate with sweeping vistas down to the captivatingly blue Carribean Sea.
There are numerous spa's, restaurants, nightclubs, historic cites, watersports and adventure parks at your disposal as a vacationer at Montego Bay. The ideal holiday destination for families, couples and friends alike.
