House overview

The house is on two levels with an open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area on the ground floor. This opens onto a private courtyard which can be used for al fresco dining, maybe a glass of Prosecco before dinner or just enjoying Venice outdoors. There are two matching sofas in the lounge area, one of which converts into a double sofa bed. There is a separate bathroom with wash basin and WC. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with double bed, the other with twin beds. There is a bathroom with shower, bidet and WC. The house has been renovated recently with attractive cherry wood flooring. All of the beds, sofas, garden furniture and kitchen equipment are brand new. The house is located in picturesque Dorsoduro, just off the Campo Santa Margherita. It is an easy 5 minute walk to Piazzale Roma and the railway station. Despite experiencing more of the real Venice, access to the main tourist attractions, such as San Marco, is easy and fast, giving the best of both worlds

Venice
Twelve million visitors a year, cant be all wrong, Venice is the most magical city on earth. Whether you want to visit the major tourist attractions or just wander the streets and canals getting lost along the way, there are so many ways of visiting the city. If you’ve already been to St. Marks and fed the pigeons, maybe you are looking to experience a more authentic, less touristy side of Venice? Dorsoduro is known as the hipper “sestier”, less crowded, but still packed with history and culture, with beautiful churches as well as great bars and restaurants

The Veneto region
The Veneto has all year round attractions from the winter skiing in the Dolomites to the hot and balmy days of summer. Venice is the ideal base from which to explore the region, served by excellent road, rail and maritime links. Nearby are the attractions of the Eugenean Hills, The Veneto wine country, historic cities of Padua, Vicenza, Verona and Trieste. In the middle of all this is the jewel that is Venice, La Serenissima.

This house was outstanding, it was away from the busy streets of Venice but a ten minute walk will get you to the Rialto Bridge. The lovely garden was great and the rooms were perfect after a busy day of taking in the sights. This is a great place to stay and we got all the help we needed to get to the house.

A wonderful place to spend my 50th birthday. Great house and a great city - Julie, Canberra, Australia

What a fabulous house in a stunning location. I turned out to be every bit as good as we hoped it would from the web site and pictures. Thanks, Josh, well be back - Dave and crowd from Bristol

We have owned our house in Dorsoduro, Venice for the past 2 years and love staying there when we can. We are real fans of Italy and the Italian way of life. Venice adds an extra level of excitement, we never cease to be amazed by wondering at how on earth the place was built!
