House overview - owner's description

Stylish apartment with stunning private courtyard in Dorsoduro. Located on a quiet street near to lively Campo Santa Margherita. Aircon, central heating, TV,

The house is on two levels with an open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area on the ground floor. This opens onto a private courtyard which can be used for al fresco dining, maybe a glass of Prosecco before dinner or just enjoying Venice outdoors. There are two matching sofas in the lounge area, one of which converts into a double sofa bed. There is a separate bathroom with wash basin and WC. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with double bed, the other with twin beds. There is a bathroom with shower, bidet and WC. The house has been renovated recently with attractive cherry wood flooring. All of the beds, sofas, garden furniture and kitchen equipment are brand new. The house is located in picturesque Dorsoduro, just off the Campo Santa Margherita. It is an easy 5 minute walk to Piazzale Roma and the railway station. Despite experiencing more of the real Venice, access to the main tourist attractions, such as San Marco, is easy and fast, giving the best of both worlds

Venice
Twelve million visitors a year, cant be all wrong, Venice is the most magical city on earth. Whether you want to visit the major tourist attractions or just wander the streets and canals getting lost along the way, there are so many ways of visiting the city. If you’ve already been to St. Marks and fed the pigeons, maybe you are looking to experience a more authentic, less touristy side of Venice? Dorsoduro is known as the hipper “sestier”, less crowded, but still packed with history and culture, with beautiful churches as well as great bars and restaurants

The Veneto region
The Veneto has all year round attractions from the winter skiing in the Dolomites to the hot and balmy days of summer. Venice is the ideal base from which to explore the region, served by excellent road, rail and maritime links. Nearby are the attractions of the Eugenean Hills, The Veneto wine country, historic cities of Padua, Vicenza, Verona and Trieste. In the middle of all this is the jewel that is Venice, La Serenissima.

This house was outstanding, it was away from the busy streets of Venice but a ten minute walk will get you to the Rialto Bridge. The lovely garden was great and the rooms were perfect after a busy day of taking in the sights. This is a great place to stay and we got all the help we needed to get to the house.

What a fabulous house in a stunning location. I turned out to be every bit as good as we hoped it would from the web site and pictures. Thanks, Josh, well be back - Dave and crowd from Bristol

Hi Josh, everything was wonderful. Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to stay in your apartment. The suggestions on the restaurants were great. You have a very nice place and I will pass this on to anyone that I know will be vacationing there. The staff at Villarenters were very helpful also. Thanks again and when we decide to come back I hope your place will be available. - Robert Evans and family - February

we really loved our stay there. Your wonderfull house was not at last a reason for that. It is so peaceful and quiet, especially having a rest in the garden. RC and family, Germany August 2008

we had a lovely time in Venice. The house was everything we hoped to expect. Both practical and comfortable TK and family, Durham England. August 2008

As well as Venice itself, we loved the flat for the following reasons: great location, extremely quiet, air con an absolute boon, beds really comfortable, the meet and greet service provided by Jasmine was exceptional, everything clean and you'd provided lots of additional helpful information and reassuring communications etc etc. KL and family, Bath UK. Everything we hoped for! The Travelling Highburys Bath UK.Date Submitted: September 09, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008 From booking the apartment to arriving and settling in, the whole process could not have been easier. Friendly and helpful communications with the owners raised our expectations before we left the country. These were only exceeded once we arrived. Great 'meet and greet' service off the vaporetto provided by a local agency (even at 11:30pm!) fantastic location that somehow managed to be central and yet quiet brilliant apartment that was actually cool despite fierce August heat - and looked as if it would be warm in winter too. We hope to return - regularly!! Recommended for: Families with Young Children, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Tourists without a Car, Age 55+, Romantic Getaway

Featured Review5/5wonderful and relaxingjudge_bob, Potsdam, GermanyReview Submitted: September 10, 2008, Date of stay: August, 2008 When we arrived in venice, we were just surprised by the apartment and its location. The area is quiet and all important points in the city are easily accessible. Above all, we loved the relaxing hours in the garden - they gave us new power to discover the city and the lagoon. Besides that any necessary facility (like a supermarket, vaporetto etc.) is close by.

We have owned our house in Dorsoduro, Venice for the past 2 years and love staying there when we can. We are real fans of Italy and the Italian way of life. Venice adds an extra level of excitement, we never cease to be amazed by wondering at how on earth the place was built!
