Family from Amersham, United Kingdom September 2018

The property is situated in a beautiful spot on top of a hill with magnificent views over the valley and stunning sunsets. The tennis court and pool are excellent and completely private. The house itself is very clean but rustic, and some of the furniture is in need of an up-grade, particularly the downstairs sitting area which is cramped for the number of bedrooms. There are a number of areas to eat al fresco (mosquitoes allowing) and the fig trees and vines provide plenty of fruit in the late summer.

overall an outstanding House in an outstanding area. Loved the access to the river which was fantastic, our only negative was the road being the access route through the valley, at times it was very noisy. However, this would not stop us booking again. Thank you Muriel, we had a fantastic holiday.

Family from Great Yarmouth, United Kingdom July 2015

We stayed at this lovely Tuscan farmhouse for two weeks mid to late July 2015. We stayed as a family of four – two adults and our two teenage children aged 19 and 16, but the property was well-set up for younger children. The house was clean and well-equipped with everything needed for a self-catering holiday, including BBQ and electric induction hob (I want one of these now!) We arrived to find a much appreciated welcome pack of wine, bread, butter and milk. It was very hot when we stayed, with a temperature averaging at 37-40 deg C (which we were told is abnormally hot for the time of year) and were pleased to find the house equipped with fans. All the windows are fitted with mosquito screens and shutters, so we were able to keep the house cool and insect-free. The pool is a decent size and when we stayed it was lovely and warm. There is also a ping pong table, which is shielded from the sun. Mostly, however, we just enjoyed laying back and catching up with some reading by the pool. The town of Lucca is close by and offers both shopping and dining, and we made several day trips there, as well as travelling further afield to visit Florence (90 mins drive) and Pisa (40 mins drive). Two of us also attended a cooking class at http://www.cucina-italiana.com, which is only 30 mins drive from the house. The owner kindly left a sat nav at the property with places of interest/supermarkets/useful car parks programmed into it, which was really useful. There was also a laptop and printer provided to enable guests to book in advance for popular attractions such as the David in Florence and the leaning tower of Pisa, rather than joining the lengthy queues at their booking offices. We found this rental to be well thought-out and in a lovely part of the world. We had a really relaxing and fun holiday, and would definitely recommend it.

Friends from Crossgar, United Kingdom September 2013

My wife and I had the most wonderful time at Casa Gisella. We were at the house for 6 nights and we wish it had been more. The house is beautiful and very homely, it had everything we could have asked for, the facilities were terrific and the location awe inspiring. We wanted a relaxing time and we couldnt have picked a better place. To wake up in the mornings in peace and quiet and then to walk onto either of the terraces and just drink in the view was something we will not forget. The twisty mountainous approach road adds a degree of isolation to the village which is perhaps why the village and the house felt like a haven of tranquility and the imposing backdro p of the castle behind the property makes this the most unique location we have ever holidayed at. We would love to go back in the future and indeed would look forward to it, we will certainly recommend it to our friends and anyone who will listen. Thank you Ronnie and Alison for the time we spent in your beautiful Italian home. Nigel & Linda Jamison Co. Down Northern Ireland.
