Apartment overview - owner's description

This family run farmhouse (agriturismo) with holiday apartments and large shared pool lies about 6 km from Torrita di Siena, in the beautiful hills of the Siena countryside. The panoramic hill where the complex is located is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, wheat and sunflowers fields and two ponds with geese. In addition to these, the farm also breeds farmyards animals (kids, lambs, hens), grows organic vegetables and produces wine that guests can taste and buy. Seven apartments are part of the farmhouse and share spaces with various possibilities of relaxation: the large communal pool, outdoor games for children (slides and swings), a game room with table-football, ping-pong table and other games for younger children. There is a large breakfast room and a gazebo equipped for outdoor dinners which are periodically organized by the family. At guests' disposal are also a shared barbecue and laundry room, possibility of renting mountain bikes. The apartments are simply and comfortably furnished, equipped with TV and WI-FI internet connection. The agriturismo lies 4 km from the motorway exit Valdichiana and the freeway to reach Siena and Perugia (both about 40 km). The favourable position of the farmhouse will allow you to organize interesting excursions in the surrounding area: In Torrita di Siena take place the characteristic "Palio dei Somari" (in March) and the "Torrita Blues" (by the end of June); In the nearby Sinalunga, bordering the farm, you can enjoy the "Incantaborgo" with many artists (August) and the characteristic Fiera Pieve (October); Montepulciano with the temple of San Biagio and numerous wine cellars is 15 km from here; Pienza at 20 Km, in the Val d'Orcia, with its cathedral, the terrace with beautiful panoramic views and, outside the historic centre, the beautiful Pieve di Corsignano; Cortona at 25 Km with its beautiful Piazza Garibaldi and Piazza Duomo with spectacular views of the surrounding landscape as far as Lake Trasimeno; Castiglione del Lago (35 km) in a dominant position on Lake Trasimeno; Siena at 40 km with the spectacular Piazza del Campo, where the famous Palio horse race takes place; Perugia (40 km), the Umbrian capital town, with its imposing monuments and palaces in the perched historic centre, and home to the famous Umbria-Jazz Festival; Assisi (80 km) with the wonderful papal basilica of San Francesco; Florence (100 km) with its charming squares, churches and masterpieces of the Uffizi Gallery. Within 15-25 km there are three thermal facilities (Rapolano Terme, Chianciano), ideal for enjoying a relaxing day. The Valdichiana area is the place where the Chianina bovine breed has been selected, and around it many events take place. Do not miss the specialty of the place: Pici all'aglione (thick, hand-rolled pasta in spicy garlic-tomato sauce; the garlic is cultivated by the farmers of the Agriturismo). In the complex are the apartments ITS302, ITS303, ITS304 and ITS305.

  • A double bed is typically 140cm to 180cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A “grand lit” is a European double bed, suitable for couples, and can be smaller than the usual UK or American doubles. It is typically 130cm wide but in some instances may be wider; it is approximately 180cm to 190cm deep.

A bunk bed is two single beds, one on top of another. Some properties also have pull-out beds, sofa beds and/or bed chairs; in a few properties the bed can be low in a wooden frame on the floor. The beds often have terry cloth sheet mattress protectors to protect the mattresses; please use them with the bed linen.

Some properties may have a loft as a bedroom: this is usually an open room at the top of the house with sloping walls and mattresses on a low bed or on the floor itself. You need to climb a ladder to reach this room. Lofts are very popular with children but may not be suitable for adults or elderly guests.
