Villa overview - owner's description

Small country property near to Tavarnelle Val di Pesa and Marcialla on the side of a hill, in panoramic position. The property is made up of a villa (ITC957), a farmhouse (ITC958), situated in a lower position, a former hayloft, in a more secluded position, which has been transformed into two small apartments. A large shared grassy outdoor area where the swimming pool is located is situated near the entrance of the property on the side bordering the street. It is possible to go for beautiful walks and to purchase from the owner olive oil, wine and vinsanto produced on the farm. ITC957: the basement floor (independent one-room apartment) is used by the owner only on Saturdays for receiving the guests and as a storage room. Mountain bike enthusiasts can participate in guided tours and discover the Chianti area. On request, it is possible to arrange cooking lessons, cake design lessons and wine tastings. Information about rates and schedules on the spot. But in the months of April, May and June you can choose once one of the following extra services free of charge during your stay at ITC958: Cooking class directly in your holiday apartment which includes the preparation of two dishes, for instance "pappa al pomodoro" (Italian bread soup with tomatoes) and "cantuccini" (typical, Tuscan biscuits). You will then eat the dishes prepared on your own and receive a copy of the recipe; Longer walking tour along the famous "Via Francigena". The owner will accompany you to the starting point with a car, walk together with you for about 15 km on the major pilgrimage route in the middle of the Tuscan country-side with beautiful panoramas, and on the arrival a car will pick you up again and accompany you back to your accommodation; Guided walking tour across the country-side with arrival in a local wine cellar which offers you wine tasting; Half-day guided tour with mountain bikes. If you don't have your own mountain bikes, you can rent them on the spot. On request and against payment on site: access to a small wellness center (at 1 km distance) with sauna, Turkish bath and massage room. Please inform the owner about the service you have chosen along with your arrival details.

  • A single bed is typically 70cm to 85 cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A double bed is typically 140cm to 180cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A “grand lit” is a European double bed, suitable for couples, and can be smaller than the usual UK or American doubles. It is typically 130cm wide but in some instances may be wider; it is approximately 180cm to 190cm deep.

A bunk bed is two single beds, one on top of another. Some properties also have pull-out beds, sofa beds and/or bed chairs; in a few properties the bed can be low in a wooden frame on the floor. The beds often have terry cloth sheet mattress protectors to protect the mattresses; please use them with the bed linen.

Some properties may have a loft as a bedroom: this is usually an open room at the top of the house with sloping walls and mattresses on a low bed or on the floor itself. You need to climb a ladder to reach this room. Lofts are very popular with children but may not be suitable for adults or elderly guests.
