Spacious holiday apartment in an elegant building overlooking the famous Piazza del Campo, in the historic center of Siena. Made famous by the Palio, held every year in July and August in the fascinating scenery of Piazza del Campo, it offers to its visitors numerous ideas for cultural itineraries and for pleasant walks focusing on food and wine or shopping. It will be fascinating to plunge yourself into its historical center, divided into 17 Contrade (town districts), and try to reconstruct its history, to recast a fascinating picture of alliances and rivalries, still today particularly felt by its citizens. Do not miss the Gothic Cathedral, near which stands the so-called "facetone", or the facade of the new project of the Duomo, whose works were interrupted during the plague of 1348 and never completed; from here you can admire a breathtaking view of the city and the surrounding countryside. Not far from here you will find the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo and the museum of Santa Maria della Scala, originally an hospital. Enjoy a break in Piazza del Campo, to admire the impressive complex of the Town Hall Palace with the tall tower Torre del Mangia. Imagine being surrounded by the crowd and being able to participate in the historical parade, the costume parade that takes place before the famous horse race, between drum rolls and flag waving. Art enthusiasts can admire some masterpieces of Sienese masters such as Duccio di Buoninsegna, Simone Martini and Pietro Lorenzetti, at the National Art Gallery, while the more adventurous ones will appreciate the visit of the "bottini", the underground network of aqueduct that feed the medieval sources of Siena. Among the main places of historical and artistic interest we also mention the majestic basilicas of San Francesco and San Domenico, essential stops for pilgrims. The historical center is a traffic limited area. One of the bathrooms doesn’t have window.

  • A single bed is typically 70cm to 85 cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A double bed is typically 140cm to 180cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A “grand lit” is a European double bed, suitable for couples, and can be smaller than the usual UK or American doubles. It is typically 130cm wide but in some instances may be wider; it is approximately 180cm to 190cm deep.

A bunk bed is two single beds, one on top of another. Some properties also have pull-out beds, sofa beds and/or bed chairs; in a few properties the bed can be low in a wooden frame on the floor. The beds often have terry cloth sheet mattress protectors to protect the mattresses; please use them with the bed linen.

Some properties may have a loft as a bedroom: this is usually an open room at the top of the house with sloping walls and mattresses on a low bed or on the floor itself. You need to climb a ladder to reach this room. Lofts are very popular with children but may not be suitable for adults or elderly guests.

If a property has an annexe then it will typically be a building attached to the main property or a small self-contained building. Annexes often have no central heating.
