Close to the characteristic town of Sambuca lies this beautiful holiday home which is surrounded by a spacious fenced-in outdoor area with views of the Belice Valley and Lake Arancio. Not far away from the property are also the sea at Menfi, the town of Sciacca and the archaeological site Selinunte. The area has a long history dating back to ancient times and the places have preserved their features of Arab architecture; The Saracen Emir Zabut built his castle precisely on these hills. From the castle of Zabut you can find no more traces, but on its foundation there is a terrace, the "Belvedere di Sambuca", which dominates the surrounding landscape. The Saraceno district with its narrow, partly blind and very intricate streets, enriched with small courtyards and subterranean passages which have recently been brought to light, has remained intact: a jewel of an antique map, which perfectly represents the vision of an Arab city centre. In the wider area you can do a lot of activities: the archaeological site of Monte Adranone is definitely worth a visit. If you are a true nature lover, you should not miss to visit the natural reserve of Monte Genuardo, but also a walk along the banks of Lake Arancio with its vineyards and olive groves is very nice. For those who like the good cuisine, Sambuca offers many culinary delights served with optimal wine.

The exact dimensions will vary from property to property but the agent has specified that bed sizes are as follows:

  • A single bed is typically 70cm to 85 cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A double bed is typically 140cm to 180cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A “grand lit” is a European double bed, suitable for couples, and can be smaller than the usual UK or American doubles. It is typically 130cm wide but in some instances may be wider; it is approximately 180cm to 190cm deep.

A bunk bed is two single beds, one on top of another. Some properties also have pull-out beds, sofa beds and/or bed chairs; in a few properties the bed can be low in a wooden frame on the floor. The beds often have terry cloth sheet mattress protectors to protect the mattresses; please use them with the bed linen.

Some properties may have a loft as a bedroom: this is usually an open room at the top of the house with sloping walls and mattresses on a low bed or on the floor itself. You need to climb a ladder to reach this room. Lofts are very popular with children but may not be suitable for adults or elderly guests.

If a property has an annexe then it will typically be a building attached to the main property or a small self-contained building. Annexes often have no central heating.
