VILLA OLIMPO Castiglione di Ravello - Amalfi Coast

This charming villa is located in one of the most beautiful and panoramic areas along the Amalfi Coast. It is conveniently located between the two historical towns of Amalfi and Ravello, in a private and exclusive position, making it, a great starting point for easy day trips to all the tourist points of interest of the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento Coast as well as Naples, Vesuvius, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Paestum and the islands of Capri and Ischia.

The Villa
The house is two-stores high. (Interior 250 sq meters, 1000 sq. meters of outdoor area consisting of terraces and gardens).
Entrance from the main road along the short private driveway. A enclosed garage, at the end of the driveway, provides parking for one car, there is additional parking for two cars along the driveway.

Ground Floor
19 steps up to the main floor of the villa. Entrance is into a roomy and airy living room, with open fireplace and panoramic sea view terrace.
The kitchen can be reached from the living room but also from the terrace, making it easy and pleasant to organize outdoor meals. The kitchen has also a door leading to a second terrace situated in a delightful angle, surrounded by pine trees and a mature violet bougainvillea.
Next to the kitchen is the elevator.

Pool area
From ground and upper floor, the lift takes you to a spacious terrace (reached also from the entrance of the villa with an external stairway of 45 steps) with terracotta floor, decorated with large terracotta pots overflowing with geraniums. A stairway of 21 steps takes you to the upper level with a huge terrace which provides spectacular views of the coast and the sea and comfortable and furnished outdoor spaces. It houses a large swimming pool (16 x 7 meters, open from May to October), 2 outdoor showers, deck chairs, shaded dining area with table and charcoal barbecue and in a corner the bar area.

Roof terrace
140 square meters (1500 square feet) large. It features an above-ground heated Jacuzzi pool with hydro massage with five seats. It is partly shaded by awnings. It is equipped with two sofas. From the terrace you will enjoy an enchanting view of the sea, of Amalfi and the coast of Amalfi.

Wellness room
The wellness room comprises a sauna, Turkish bath and a shower. Please note that use of the wellness facilities is not included in the rental fee and must be paid locally.

Location
Villa Olimpo is situated in Castiglione di Ravello, along the slopes of Ravello, but only 2,5 Km. from Amalfi and 5 Km. from Ravello.
Nearest grocery shop 850 m., supermarket (DESPAR) 2 Km.
Restaurants, bars, shops, banks, and post office are in Atrani, Amalfi or in Ravello town center.

The nearest beach is Castiglione di Ravello, 1,5 km away. In order to arrive at the beach you have to descend from the road, a public stairway consisting of approx. 180 stone steps. Other beaches that can be reached more comfortably, by car or by bus, are the beach of Atrani (1 km), Amalfi (2,5 km), Minori (5 km) and Maiori (6 km).
If you are fond of archaeology, Pompeii, Herculaneum and Paestum are easily within reach, and, of course, Naples and Salerno as well.

SITA public buses run, the Ravello - Amalfi bus line (almost every 20 minutes). The bus stop is 100 m from the property.
From Amalfi there are buses which connect all the Amalfi Coast and Neapolitan Riviera towns, and also ferry boats to Capri Positano and Sorrento / Naples.
One of the ancient trails connecting Ravello and Atrani passes alongside the building. It leads down through lemon groves on to the famous Maddalena church of Atrani For the more enthusiastic walkers, steps lead all the way up to Ravello too!

Check-in procedure
Check-in time is between 2,00 and 8,00 p.m. You will be met and taken to the booked accommodation, asked for a photo copy of your Id or passport, any extras and the Breakage deposit (credit cards accepted) € 1.000,00 – this is refunded on your departure day, less any breakages.

We strongly recommend contacting our land agents the day before or early morning of your arrival day, to let them know how you intend getting to the resort and approximate arrival time, they will in this occasion be able to advise of any local fiestas, roads closed etc...

Check-out time is between 07:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
On departure the property has to be left tidy, with the kitchen clean and free from trash. Should these conditions not be respected, there will a deduction from the deposit - amount corresponding to the extra cleaning time.

Local Supplements
City tax: Mandatory, is € 3,00 per person, per day, payable locally in cash.

Extra Services if required - advance notice may be required:
Additional cleaning: Carried out in the morning and in the afternoon, for the garden and swimming pool´s cleaning, and for the linen change, too. Daily price € 150,00.
The SPA, wellness room: The spa includes the use of the wellness room provided with sauna, steam bath, shower and a related space fitted out with chairs and sunbeds. Daily price € 200,00.

How to get there
There are several ways to get to Castiglione di Ravello / Amalfi Coast from Naples Capodichino Airport or Naples / Salerno Train station either by renting a car or by public transport.
By Public transport all depends on your arrival time at the airport/train station. Visit Amalfi Coast Transport to see which option (Bus or Ferry) will suit you best.

The easiest way to reach the property from Naples airport or train station is to hire a taxi or a private transfer directly to the your property.

Once at the property you can get to Amalfi or Ravello fine without the car as parking in the towns is hard to come by and expensive.
Public Buses operate year-around connecting Ravello to Amalfi, where are buses to all the Amalfi Coast villages and Sorrento area.
Ferries (from May to October) operate a service between Amalfi - Positano - Sorrento - Capri Island - Naples and Salerno.
