In an elevated position above the town and reachable in a few minutes by car is Castellabate itself, an ancient hamlet dating back to 1123, a picturesque labyrinth of alleys, stairways and small squares that allows the viewer to enjoy wonderful panoramic views of the surrounding hills on the one hand and a long stretch of coastline on the other. Don't miss a visit to the famous temple complex of Paestum in the north of Cilento, which is only about 24 km away.
