Villa overview - owner's description

Holiday apartment in a two-family house within a farm, in Bassano del Grappa, in the province of Vicenza. This is a typical country house farm, built in 1800, featuring a stone wall surrounding the house and the yard. It’s located between the Po Valley and the marvelous hills of Marostica and Breganze, from which arise the mountains of the Asiago plateau, the Pasubio range and Mount Grappa. This is a fertile land, which benefits from a peculiar climate, thanks to the mountains on the north acting as a barrier. The guests of this holiday apartment will enjoy the garden, in which they will find amenities for the entertainment of the whole family: a pleasant garden swing for you to unwind while reading a book, barbecue and shaded dining area with large tables, for your meals outdoors, a playground area for children. Moreover, the guests will have at their disposal four hectares of ground of the estate, in which they will find a natural spring, fruit trees, especially cherry trees, and a nice wood composed of over 500 trees belonging to 20 different species. All outdoor spaces are in shared use. The farm produces fruit, wine, eggs, other than three different types of honey (beehives within the estate). Nature and sports enthusiasts will enjoy pleasant walks or bike rides on the hills, or in the nearby mountains, with so many trails available, horse riding or golfing in the surroundings, other than more exciting disciplines such as rafting along the Brenta river, as well as hang-gliding or paragliding from Mount Grappa. Moreover, within 30 Km you will find the Asiago plateau, with its pristine landscapes and its many historical places full of memories of World War I, such as trenches and bunkers, which you can visit thanks to the marked trails. The Pasubio range offers one of the most exciting excursions in the Venetian prealps: tbhe 52-tunnel road, a majestic military engineering work. This property benefits from a strategic position, with the main art cities and tourist destinations is Veneto within easy reach: Vicenza (20 km), Padova (50 km), Verona (80 km), Venice (90 km), but also many smaller towns and ancient hamlets, such as Bassano del Grappa, with the “Bridge of the Alpini”; Marostica, Medieval town, renowned for the chess game with living characters; Asolo, a splendid ancient hamlet; Thiene, with its castle; Cittadella, a Medieval walled city. Don’t miss the chance to set off on tours to admire the acclaimed “Ville Venete”, many of which where designed by architect and sculpture Palladio, such as Villa Godi Malinverni , Villa Trissino Marzotto, La Rotonda, Villa Caldogno. Directions and details on how to collect the keys will be emailed to you after you have paid for the booking in full. You will receive full details about your booking including directions to the property and a booking voucher that you need to hand over to the property manager when you receive the keys. In some instances you may need to collect the keys from the property manager’s office or some other location which is not the actual property you have booked to stay in. Please note that the agent provides us with the GPS co-ordinates in the travel directions and we communicate these to you; you should contact the property manager if these are unclear.

The exact dimensions will vary from property to property but the agent has specified that bed sizes are as follows:

  • A single bed is typically 70cm to 85 cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A double bed is typically 140cm to 180cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
  • A “grand lit” is a European double bed, suitable for couples, and can be smaller than the usual UK or American doubles. It is typically 130cm wide but in some instances may be wider; it is approximately 180cm to 190cm deep.

A bunk bed is two single beds, one on top of another. Some properties also have pull-out beds, sofa beds and/or bed chairs; in a few properties the bed can be low in a wooden frame on the floor. The beds often have terry cloth sheet mattress protectors to protect the mattresses; please use them with the bed linen.

Some properties may have a loft as a bedroom: this is usually an open room at the top of the house with sloping walls and mattresses on a low bed or on the floor itself. You need to climb a ladder to reach this room. Lofts are very popular with children but may not be suitable for adults or elderly guests.

If a property has an annexe then it will typically be a building attached to the main property or a small self-contained building. Annexes often have no central heating.

Please note that bedrooms in holiday rentals are usually not that large; you should refer to the floor plan to get a sense of size.
