It is the perfect location for a romantic get-away for couples, or just use as a base to explore the glorious Tuscan countryside. Details of where to visit can be found in the cottage. The property has wireless internet access, suitable for iPhones/Blackberries.
Plunge pool and gardens
There is a large private plunge pool in the garden, for exclusive use by residents of Casina di Olivia. The beautiful gardens of Colletto Estate are nearby for your enjoyment. The historic Medieval town of Coreglia Antelminelli is within walking distance for local amenities. Lucca and Florence may be visited by train or car. It is highly recommended you hire a car for your stay.
Due to the stunning tranquil location, this property is a popular choice for honeymoon couples. If you inform us on booking that this is your honeymoon there will be a free bottle of Prosecco on for you to open on your arrival.
We had a fantastic stay, the villa has stunning views and we loved watching the sun set over the mountains. (glass of chianti in hand!) The villa although a little tired in places has lots of rustic charm and the bed is extremely comfortable and to my surprise plenty of hot water in the spacious shower, i expected it to be solar heated and a bit chilly but it never was. Great little kitchen for rustling up dishes of fresh pasta or visit the restaurants in the village for some terrific food and the locals were very friendly. We never met the owners but were happy knowing we could phone if we needed to. The plunge pool - not hot tub as some people think as there are no working jets- is heated and great to cool down in after a day sightseeing and there is plenty to do in the area but the sun loungers and view always pull you back to the villa. I would have no problem recommending this villa to friends and I dont think anyone else would disappointed either.
Thank you so much Jean for adding your review of Olivia. We are very glad you enjoyed your stay and do hope you will be able to visit us again.

Overall we had a good time but were disappointed that the well-advertised hot tub was non-functional, the hob was down to two reliable burners, there were no lids for any pots, there was no proper coffee-maker and there was a paucity of dishes only three small juice glasses for example. Having use of a fine pool was an unexpected treat. Roberta likes to set up housekeeping and cook up a storm but her scope was limited by facilities. Olivia as a base for mountain village exploring was perfect. The views were spectacular and Anna-Maria was exceptionally friendly and kind. It would be good to provide a little map of which path to take the wheelbarrow along. The one that goes through the hedge onto the grassy walk brings the barrow closest to Olivia. Lorne
Thank you for your review Lorne, and we are glad you enjoyed your holiday. The tub is advertised as a heated plunge pool and is functional. I am sorry the hob broke, we were aware of one hob not working and a new part is on order for repair- we will get this checked, we are also putting lids for the pans into the property. The coffee maker is a proper Italian Espresso maker - the Italians rarely use American style coffee makers. We have noted your comments about the path to the cottage, and thank you for your advice.

Our week in Cassi di Olivia provided the perfect start to our trip to Tuscany for our honeymoon. The villa is wonderfully secluded in its hilltop location, with breathtaking views across the valley, but is also close to the charming little town of Correglia Antelminelli with its two grocery shops, pharmacy, cash point and a couple of restaurants. It provided a great base from which to explore this part of northern Tuscany, including Barga, Lucca and the Italian Riviera. The villa was well equipped, comfortable and homely...we were very reluctant to leave.

After a long drive from Nice and a winding road to the Colleto estate where Olivia is situated we were thrilled to found our selves at an amazingly picturesque location. The views are simply stunning and the grounds in which the villa is located are stunning too. Tuscan figurines are dotted about the beautifully maintained and cared for gardens, which gives it a truly magical quality. The villa itself is cosy, well equipped, and private. Every window has an amazing view you simply could not get bored of looking out of the window! Anna-Maria is always a phone call away if you need anything, or advice on where to visit. Coreglia is only a few minutes away, and the people who live there are so friendly and welcoming. We had a wonderful time and want to come back as soon as possible.
Thank you so much Laura. We are glad you enjoyed your stay in Olivia and look forward to seeing you again.
We felt the place was not cared for. We have stayed in a larger villa a few years ago. The gardens are neglected, the house needs some care showere rail was a rusty line, light in bedroom ceiling was coming out, curtain pole was wobbly. Cutlery and crockery all a bit sad. It is sold as a honeymoon property but there is only one champagne glass.
It needs a thorough checking through to make it feel more cared for. It could be very special
We were very disappointed to read these remarks. Olivia is a much loved property. It is a 19th century building, and is set in 3 acres of gardens. It has been impossible this year due to high rainfall to keep it looking immaculate. The champagne glass had been broken by the previous guests and not reported, this was then not picked up by the housekeeper unfortunately but was replaced immediately. The furniture and decor has all been hand chosen by the owner who was an accomplished antique dealer and intended to keep with the Italian style of decor. The guests who stayed after this review was written - Mr R Paley of London - were so amazed to read this review he has kindly given us permission to pass on his comments: "The overall experience we had was delightful. It is a very special and beautiful place in a truly exquisite setting. We had a wonderful time there and wish we’d stayed longer. For Stephanie to mark the property down to 1 out of 5 stars is desperately unfair on the owners. We absolutely loved our time at Olivia and would definitely consider returning and will definitely recommend it to those friends who we know would like this kind of property. "
The property is in an idyllic location with incredible views. Anna Maria is wonderfully helpful and one of the nicest people we had ever met - great to have at the end of the phone when you are trying to work out how the spa pool works. We couldnt fault the property, and would only advise others to do their food shop after they arrive as the cupboards were full of olive oil, balsamic, tea and coffee which others had left behind, and we then added to!

The villetta was located after a wonderfully scenic route through the Tuscan hills and valley. It is in the characterful medieval town of Corgelia di Antelminelli, which we returned to numerous times for its wonderful food. And now onto the best bit - the villa itself. Nestled on a mountainside, the views are breathtaking, the air is delightfully fragrant with the scent of the surrounding lavender bushes and rosemary. There are also elegant olive trees dotted all round the apartment. We could not believe how luxuriant the outdoor jacuzzi was, so many different comfort settings. Outdoor jacuzzi + champagne + sunshine + mountain air + romance = heaven, as far as Im concerned. The locals were helpful and good company, have I mentioned how good the local restaurants were? My advice would be hire a comfortable car to get there and prepare for real luxury and relaxation. My wife is a writer and she found the environment a real inspiration for her work. As a relaxing, romantic break it really was the tops. Were going back in a months time and well explore the local area more, though Im sure Casina Olivia will drag us back to its comforting aura.
