The largest Italian lake, Lake Garda, with its clear waters, beaches and inlets, is flanked to the north by jagged Alpine mountains, and to the south by rolling hills covered in vineyards, olive groves, cypress and lemon trees. This incredible variety of landscape combined with a temperate climate allows for a range of outdoor activities, from walking, cycling and swimming to mountain climbing, windsurfing and paragliding. The historic cities of Verona and Venice are both easy to visit from here.
There are excellent ferry links across Lake Garda so it is all accessible from your villa base. Pretty towns and villages are dotted all around the lake; Bardolino, elegant and classy; Desenzano, attracting the beautiful crowd from Milan in their sports cars; the cobbled streets, 13th-century castle and ruined Roman villa of Sirmione; Salo, with its long promenade and bobbing yachts; Peschiera and its beachside restaurants and fantastic local market – no matter where your villa is on Lake Garda you will find yourself in a pocket of loveliness.
