Apartment overview - owner's description
Holiday apartment near Issime, within a characteristic three-storey villa of the 19th century. The apartment is spacious and has a large living area, three bedrooms with double or single beds, kitchen and bathroom. Guests have access to a large outdoor area equipped with garden furniture, deckchairs and barbecues, where you can relax after a day of skiing and walking. Pets are allowed but not cats (the house owners suffer from a serious allergy). Just a few hundred metres from the house, you will find a 11 km long path leading from Fontainemore, down to Gaby, to Pont Trenta and which is ideal for excursions on foot or by bike. Halfway another path leads to the district of Niel. Issime is a characteristic alpine locality of 419 inhabitants, at 953 metres a. s. l., in the Lys Valley in the north-eastern part of the Aosta Valley. It is immersed in untouched nature and in an environment enriched with traditions of ancient flavours. It is located just 20 km from Gressoney, where you will find the mountain lifts of the Monte Rosa area. At 11 km is the famous Weissmatten track, awarded in 2009 as the best alpine track, and with its uniqueness of having an excellent lighting that will allow you to experience the thrill of night-time skiing. In addition to the famous slopes, the ski district offers free ride, eliski, climbing school (with ice climbing and snowshoe guided tours), mountaineering and summer skiing. Near the apartment, on the SR44 regional road, pass buses leading to the ski slopes. Gaby also offers two cross-country ski runs, one of 7500 meters with medium difficulty and one of 6800 meters of easy difficulty. In the summertime there are countless sports / recreational activities: marked trails with possibility of riding, rafting and canoeing in Bard (19 km). Nearby are possible hiking in the San Grato Valley, to the Dondeuil Hill, through the mountains where you can still admire many Stradel, the typical buildings of this area. At 20 km distance, from June to October, a 9-hole golf course is open. Valle d'Aosta is a region rich in art and culture. Aosta (65 km) offers numerous Roman and Romanesque monuments. Numerous castles dot the Valdostan landscape. Worth visiting are the castles of Fenis (52 km), Issogne (30 km), Verres (28 km), Sarre (73 km) and Bard (19 km). All together they offer a picture of military and feudal life. The enogastronomy features some exquisite DOP products, including the Lardo di Arnad and Fontina, which are widely used in rich local cuisine. At 39 km you will find Saint Vincent with its famous thermal baths, with a wide choice of spa to relax, immersed in an enchanting landscape surrounded by the beautiful Alpine peaks, and with the Casino and historical testimony with neolithic graffiti and Celtic cliffs. At 81 km distance is Turin, the first capital of Italy, with its richness in monuments and museums, including the famous Egyptian Museum and the Venaria Reale Palace (79 km), the former residence of the kings of Italy and enrolled in the List of World Heritage and recently completely restored.

Frequently asked questions
When do I receive directions to the apartment and key collection information?
Directions and details on how to collect the keys will be emailed to you after you have paid for the booking in full. You will receive full details about your booking including directions to the property and a booking voucher that you need to hand over to the property manager when you receive the keys. In some instances you may need to collect the keys from the property manager’s office or some other location which is not the actual property you have booked to stay in. Please note that the agent provides us with the GPS co-ordinates in the travel directions and we communicate these to you; you should contact the property manager if these are unclear.
Bed sizes / bedrooms
The exact dimensions will vary from property to property but the agent has specified that bed sizes are as follows:
- A single bed is typically 70cm to 85 cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
- A double bed is typically 140cm to 180cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
- A “grand lit” is a European double bed, suitable for couples, and can be smaller than the usual UK or American doubles. It is typically 130cm wide but in some instances may be wider; it is approximately 180cm to 190cm deep.
A bunk bed is two single beds, one on top of another. Some properties also have pull-out beds, sofa beds and/or bed chairs; in a few properties the bed can be low in a wooden frame on the floor. The beds often have terry cloth sheet mattress protectors to protect the mattresses; please use them with the bed linen.
Some properties may have a loft as a bedroom: this is usually an open room at the top of the house with sloping walls and mattresses on a low bed or on the floor itself. You need to climb a ladder to reach this room. Lofts are very popular with children but may not be suitable for adults or elderly guests.
If a property has an annexe then it will typically be a building attached to the main property or a small self-contained building. Annexes often have no central heating.
Please note that bedrooms in holiday rentals are usually not that large; you should refer to the floor plan to get a sense of size.
Quality rating: three stars. The agent rates this as a well-kept, middle of the range holiday property.
What are the extra consumption costs for electricity, gas, water etc.?
You will need to pay a fixed cost of €20.00 per night for electricity, water, gas and other utilities. You will need to pay the local agent when you arrive. The price is fixed and is not refundable.
