Apartment overview - owner's description

THE APPARTMENT is part of the prestigious Ercoleland compound on the hillside over the sea. It is a peaceful and relaxing location ideal for ‘far niente’, sea life, walks or tourism.
Nicely decorated, the appartment develops on two floors. It is 75 sqm large, and has a terrace and a very nice patio . On the ground floor it accomodates a living room and a fully equipped kitchen, on the first floor a large master bedroom, a bedroom with twin beds and a modern bathroom.
The spacious patio will allow you to relax and sunbath or dine "all aperto" enjoying one of the most extraordinary panoramas of the beautifull coast and the "Isolotto".

ERCOLELAND is a beautiful summer residence with greenery, paths and a nicely shaped swimming pool with chairs and umbrellas that is open from mid June till September. Houses and apartments are all different in shape and size and intermingle in a way that everyone enjoys its full privacy. The residence enjoys a private access to a rocky beach equipped with platforms where you can bring and store your beach accessories.
The place is ideal for families as you can leave safely your children wonder around the residence, go to the swimming pool or to the beach.

Around and about
Monte Argentario is a picturesque peninsula that offers long sandy beaches and spectacular bays sometimes accessible only by boat! With its dense maquis (tipical mediterannean vegetation) and the breathtaking views bikers or hikers will enjoy discovering the vicinities with ancient spanish watch towers and fortresses.

Porto Ercole is a charming old fishermans village surrounded by Spanish forts. It offers a wide variety of shops, bars, restaurants and cafés. All services including banks, doctors, are available at the village.

Boats can be hired for daily rides along the beautiful peninsula coast to discover secluded bays and dramatic cliffs.

The islands of Giglio and Giannutri are the pearls of the Tuscan Archipelago and are well worth visiting.

Orbetello surrounded by its lagoon, Talamone, Scansano Montemerano are among the nearby many places of interest were you will find interesting medieval sites, monuments, churches and a lovely atmosphere.

In the mainland, wine lovers will be interested in visiting some excellent wine producers from the nearby Morellino di Scansano region or further away the vinyards of Brunello di Montalcino.

The Natural Park of Uccellina and the olive oil area of Canino are also worth to visit.

From the residence you are at:
- a walking distance from the "Relais et Chateaux" hotel Il Pellicano with restaurant, spa and tennis
- a walking distance from the Acquadolce beach
- 10 minutes drive from the Feniglia: one of the most beautiful sandy beaches of Tuscany. Extending from the Argentario in a 6km crescent to the mainland, it has all the beach facilities including bars, restaurants and wind-surfing. Behind the beach is a magnificent pine forest with deer and other wildlife. Bicycles can be hired to ride through the forest and one can stop along the way to swim. It is an ideal destination if you have children.
- 10 minutes drive from the excellent Argentario Golf club and Polo club
- 3 km away from Porto Ercole, with its shops and restaurants.

We have been in Tuscany many summer holidays. The area around Ercoleland is the most beautiful of the whole Tuscan shore. The rocky and green hillside overlooking the most clean and beautiful sea of the whole Tuscan shore. It is so beautiful and exciting to swim and dive here. Excellent for families. The area around the apartment is so charming, a beautiful walk down to the private rocky beach, not to mention sitting on the terrace in the afternoon to watch the sun go down in the Mediterranean sea.

The facilities are very practical, elegant and cozy. We felt home within the first second. The Ercoleland feels like a "quiet island" for itself, apart from the more crowdy areas. At the same time it is very short to other beaches, and to Porto Ercole (only 4-5 minutes with car). Why not go for an afternoon and dinner in Florenze (2 hours drive) og Rome (1 1/2 hours drive)?

We felt in love with the place, and will absolutely come back!

If we should recommend some improvements, one should install air condition in the sleeping rooms. I believe that is something many visitors expect from even less expensive appartmenst. Not least, visitors north of the Alps. The lack of air condition is why we did not give full score on "facilities", "value for money" and "overall score".

It would also be easier if the local staff spoke English. We needed some help and it was very difficult because they only spoke Italian.

The house owner, however, was very available on email, gave fast response and made very good service all the time.

Dear Emil,
Thank you very much for your review. You are a very valuable returning guest and your comments are even more important to us. As you know, every year we try to bring improvements to the property and we are happy you liked the new furniture. However, this time the excellent cleaning lady we always use was temporary unavailable - sorry for the order in the kitchen. The old mosquito net has already being replaced and new flowers have been planted.
Unfortunately, due to a change in regional concessions, this summer we will be without the beach platforms: We have asked for an improved set up but the public bureaucracy is very slow and very frustrating. We are waiting for the green light to proceed…However, for this inconvenience, we have lowered our rental prices accordingly.
We very much look forward in seeing again you next year.

Very beautiful location with perfect swimmingpool near by.The access to the beaches are not so easy to find and a little bit hard to walk. But if you have found your favorite baech it is very marvellous.

If you want to stay your holiday on a very romantic place, separated from the traffic of typical holiday resorts, this is the optimal place for you. The apartment has absolutely fantastic sea view, the best we have ever had and we hardly met somebody both on beautiful rocky beach and in the swimming pool area (we stayed here beginning of July). The apartment was capacious enough for 4 people and even if some equipment was a bit obsolete, everything was functional. If you consider this apartment just have in minds two facts - there is not any service in the condominium (shop, etc.), so you have to commute to Porto Ercole for everything. And prepare your driving abilities for a bit adrenaline approach to the area - the final part (alley) is really steep :-)

A very nice "feel-good" property. The house was very clean when we arrived and there were a very homelike feeling to the place. The kitchen is very well equipped. The small garden is private and cosy. A very nice bathroom and 2 small but nice bedrooms. The surroundings is very beautiful and well kept and the poolarea is calm, clean and with a fantastic view over the sea. There are many stairs, but it is only a problem if you are a bit walkind disabled. Summed up it is a great place in a wounderful area of Italy with many nice towns and restaurents to visit.

We stayed a couple of week in August. We found the property and the Ercoleland residence very pleasant. The maisonette is charming but not luxurious: no air conditioning or jacuzzi, but we did not really care for it. We loved the breathtaking view, the swimming pool and the sea, although the private rocky beach is accessible via a quite steep path.

We have been in the property for 2 weeks in August when we had friend staying in the same place. The apartment is quite confortable and complete of everything you need. It is furnished with taste, bathroom is new and you have a fully functional separeted kitchen. The view is absolutely stunning and the sea is spectacular although you have to walk down (and climb back) a steep path with stairs to reach the rocky beach. Also the swiming pool is very pleasant. We will recomend the place

I am an Italian national that lives and works in Switzerland.
We live too far away for taking advantage of the house on week ends and rent it out for this reason.
However every year we spend sometimes there and are in love with the place.
There are two people working in the residence that make sure that everything runs smoothly and can help our guests.
