A pleasant walk along cobbled paths and among elegant stores will take you to the Columbus House, just 1 km away. Numerous art exhibitions are held throughout the year at the Palazzo Ducale, and the local markets and concerts in the squares are also interesting. The exhibition Dialogo nel Buio (Dialogue in the Dark), in the area of the Old Port, offers a unique journey of the senses: real situations are reproduced in complete darkness, for which a ?different way of seeing? is to be learned. Guided tours of local markets and cooking classes offered by the region allow you to taste the typical local products. Thanks to the convenient location near the train station (1500 m) you can reach all the main tourist centers and seaside resorts of the Riviera. There is also the possibility of hiking in the underground Genova, whale-watching, boat connection to Camogli, Portofino and the Cinque Terre, excursions inland to discover the flavors of Liguria, which offers an excellent extra virgin olive oil, the typical pesto with good basil, the farinata (thin flat bread made with chickpea flour) and the focaccia (local bread with oil and lard).
