Holiday apartment in traditional mountain house in Serta Desor, 5 km from Gaby, a typical Alpine village at 1047 altitude in the Valley Lys, in the eastern area of the Valle d'Aosta, deep in the pristine nature and surrounded by traditions. Ideal location for winter sports enthusiasts, with the Mount Rosa ski Resort easily reachable by car or bus, it offers various activity in summer, too. The apartment is organized on two levels, connected by a wooden staircase. First floor composed of a large living room with kitchen corner, bathroom with shower and terrace; second floor composed of double bedroom, bedroom with bunk bed and single bed. A short indoor flight of stairs leads to the first floor. Large shaded terrace equipped with table, chairs and loungers to unwind at the sound of the nearby river. Storage room for skis and boots. Shared garden and two large public outdoor spaces equipped with tables and barbecue available nearby. Gaby provides two cross-country trails, one 7.500 mt long and the other 6.800 mt long. It I located only 15 Km from Gressoney, where ski lifts to the Ski Resort of Monte Rosa are located. At 6 Km the famous Weissmatten trail, 2009's best trail of the Alpine arch, with excellent lighting for night descents. The ski resort also offers other activities, such as free rides, eliski, climbing on ice wateralls, guided tours snowshoeing. Various activities even in summer time: hiking, cycling, rafting and canyoning at Bard (24 Km). Nearby the house you will find a hiking trail 11 Km long connecting Fontainemore to Pont Trenta, allowing a wonderful bike ride or hike. Other excursions available in the Mont Mars National Park or at the Gran Paradiso natural park (101 Km). From June to October 9-hole golf course available only 15 Km away. Valle d'Aosta is full of art and culture. To be visited: Aosta (70 Km), with its Roman monuments, various castles scattered around the whole Region, such as Fenis (57 Km), Issogne (35 Km), verres (33 Km), Sarre (78 km) and Bard (24 km). Saint Vincent only 44 Km away, offering renowned thermal resorts and a Casino. Turin at 86 Km, with its famous Egyptian Museum and the regal mansion Reggia di Venaria Reale, UNESCO heritage.

When do I receive directions to the apartment and key collection information?
Directions and details on how to collect the keys will be emailed to you after you have paid for the booking in full. You will receive full details about your booking including directions to the property and a booking voucher that you need to hand over to the property manager when you receive the keys. In some instances you may need to collect the keys from the property manager’s office or some other location which is not the actual property you have booked to stay in. Please note that the agent provides us with the GPS co-ordinates in the travel directions and we communicate these to you; you should contact the property manager if these are unclear.
Bed sizes / bedrooms
The exact dimensions will vary from property to property but the agent has specified that bed sizes are as follows:
- A single bed is typically 70cm to 85 cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
- A double bed is typically 140cm to 180cm wide and 180cm to 190cm deep.
- A “grand lit” is a European double bed, suitable for couples, and can be smaller than the usual UK or American doubles. It is typically 130cm wide but in some instances may be wider; it is approximately 180cm to 190cm deep.
A bunk bed is two single beds, one on top of another. Some properties also have pull-out beds, sofa beds and/or bed chairs; in a few properties the bed can be low in a wooden frame on the floor. The beds often have terry cloth sheet mattress protectors to protect the mattresses; please use them with the bed linen.
Some properties may have a loft as a bedroom: this is usually an open room at the top of the house with sloping walls and mattresses on a low bed or on the floor itself. You need to climb a ladder to reach this room. Lofts are very popular with children but may not be suitable for adults or elderly guests.
If a property has an annexe then it will typically be a building attached to the main property or a small self-contained building. Annexes often have no central heating.
Please note that bedrooms in holiday rentals are usually not that large; you should refer to the floor plan to get a sense of size.

What are the consumption costs for electricity, gas, water etc.?
You will need to pay for the energy and water you use during your stay of which electricity is usually the most significant cost. Charges can be based on a fixed per day rate or by the amount of energy used (e.g. kilowatt hours for electricity).
